Ordered delivery late night on a weekday and Nino's had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. The vodka sauce pizza was delicious and came on thin and crispy crust. The prices were reasonable and the delivery came within 40 minutes of ordering. Would definitely order from Nino's again, especially late night when there are few local pizza places still open. read more

I usually don't post bad reviews. I actually love ninos cheese pizza and lentil soup. But yesterday my wife ordered me (before you say my wife made an error when placing the order, I was next to her when she was on the phone) a cheese sub with all the toppings (veggies). I didnt eat it last night and decided to bring it work. To my surprise when I got on lunch and opened up my sub, the "cheese veggie sandwich" (which imo is the most simpliest sandwich you can make) was only bread, lettuce tomato and cucumber, that's it! No mayo, no cheese, I'm sure they had jalepanos and onions and other veggies! They charge me the full price for a 3 topping stuffed bread of almost $8! That's insane! Next time I want a sub, I'll just go to Jersey Mike's. Places like this just need to stick to pizza and that's all! read more

I've really enjoyed most of my visits to Nino's. Their rice balls are most definitely the best in all of Jersey! The food is flavorful and they have a lot of options. I had their mussels for the first time today and they were really good. My only complaint is that their red sauce hasn't always been very good. It's usually very bitter and dark in the past, but I will say today it was much better than usual. Maybe they changed their recipe? The inside could use some renovating as well. Regardless, this place is a Lodi staple and I love coming here for takeout or dine-in. read more

The pizza is very average. In fact, don't come here for that. The reason this place gets 4 stars is because of their Portuguese menu. Oh, and that they're BYOB! Yeah, BYOB is an automatic 2 stars. You could serve an eggplant and lima bean omelet, but I'll keep your restaurant as option because of the BYOB. Definitely try the picadinho, and definitely try their classic dishes. I think most of the cooks are Portuguese, so you know you're going to get some authentic stuff. I do think the pizza is an afterthought. So I ordered a pizza with extra cheese and half onions....I was quoted 35 minutes...1 hour later I called to inquire where my food was. The guy said 10 minutes it left already. No problem. 25 minutes later I called back, this time I am irate since they r an hour late. I politely ask to cancel my order and refund my money. Whoever I was speaking with at ninos started to yell at me and tell me no it already left and kept saying it over and over. Finally he just hung up in my face. So I waited another 10 minutes and tried calling them back only to be put to voicemail each time I called. Oh food for thought...this was my FIRST TIME ordering from this dump. The pizza was atrocious and lacked the half onion I asked for. $21.00 for a garbage pizza and rude service and for what?? Because THEY lied about the time and are rude uneducated undocumented slobs...keep my money. DONT EVER PRDER FROM NINOS PIZZA read more

My fiance requested a custom made veggie calzone. Not only did it take an unfathomable amount of time (45 mins without any notice.) When we received the calzone it was packed with globs of ricotta! No disclaimer on whether or not the calzone would contain ricotta as they traditionally come with mozz. So clearly, a personalized customer experience is not a priority here. They are focused on getting people in and out of the door. With all of the nearby competitors who put an emphasis on quality as well as service, this business model is not going to sustain, Nino's. Absolutely ridiculous and a complete disregard for money and more importantly, time. Will not return and will advise friends NOT to go. read more

This place is part of my childhood's it is an old favorite having grown up in Garfield my Mother would always send me to Harrison Ave. in Lodi & Garfield for the best food. Nino's is famous for their rice balls but there Portuguese Food is authentic delicious and worth trying go next door buy a bottle of wine at the Liquor Store and go back and sit there for a great meal. Tonight had a simple salad, grilled chicken and asked if they would saute broccoli rabe (the answer was no problem). The place is small and cozy but at night it has such a wonderful feeling the people are wonderful... the owners put their heart into this place. When I was first living on my own many years ago I would buy a rice ball from Nino's, go next door for vino and go down the street for fresh bread and go home bring to my roommate's and mangia! This little Pizza Place is a hidden gem and its nice to see that some things don't change and shouldn't! read more

How this place isn't rated 5 star by everyone is beyond me. I've been a Ninos girl as long as I can remember. I've had pizza a thousand other places and nothing compares. People associate NY with pizza and they have it close - but all wrong. The best pizza is in NJ and this is the best pie there is. It isn't fancy. No balsamic drizzles or kitchy signage. No sassy decor or ritzy pizza names. This is straight pizza that goes straight to the pizza-purest's soul. This ish is just damned good. When my partner and I were debating whether to return to NJ after 7 years in Los Angeles, it wasn't family or summers in NY or the Jersey shore that tipped the scale toward the Garden State - it was having Nino's at will that made it happen. This is pizza the way pizza should be. I'm a plain pie girl, though sometimes I like my sausage (as my partner will attest to). My brother in law SWEARS by the Sicilian. My mother and sister are all calzone all day. Whichever you choose, try this spot. read more

My husband loves this place, so the 3 stars are for the rice balls bc he claims they are the best he ever had. I picked up our order and the dude behind the counter used his hands to pull things out of stove, no gloves or tongs, then used his hands to count my change, then who knows what else. Between the use of his straight hands on my food and grimy looking floor, behind the counter, I question going back. read more

So far the regular cheese pizza.is right up with the best in Bergen. Not the "best" but in my opinion the top 10 with 9 others thrown in. Haven't had much of anything else but I plan to. For the Pizza 5 stars. Think Nino may be a one man show . Ubers and cooks. Beast modes it. read more

This place now appears to be under new management, and the quality has suffered tremendously. Pizza is incredibly doughy and my longtime go-to chicken cutlet sandwich has been undercooked the last couple of times I have had it. I will not be eating here going forward. read more

This has been my favorite place since I was a kid! We love their Meatball pizza, Riceball Parm is mind blowing! Garlic knots are the kids favorite. Not to mention that everyone there really makes it a warm and inviting place! We order so much that I think they know our voices by now hahahaha! read more

I spent $36 for a chicken francaise dinner, chicken parmesan dinner, and a tiramisu. I think they forgot to use lemon when cooking the chicken francaise. The meal was so plain. The tomato sauce in the chicken parmesan was a dark unsual color and the whole meal had a "burnt" taste. They ruined the side of spaghetti by topping it with the horrible sauce. Besides the horrible food, the guy took down the wrong address and did not take down my credit card information correctly. He had to call me back and started complaining about how I was paying with a credit card instead of cash. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

Ok they messed up our order to begin with. Order a white slice, regular slice, philly slice, a chicken empanada and garlic knots. I didnt get a white slice, a beef empanada instead of chicken and two garlic knots. Pizza is not good. It took forever to heat it up and still came out luke warm. read more

I think everyone has different tastes when it comes to pizza, so for me this pizza was 100% average. It's the kind of pizza I grew up on. I enjoyed it, but I have other places I prefer. I ordered the plain and pepperoni pies (delivery). It was cool they delivered all the way to Clifton. I wouldn't mind having another slice from here one day down the line. read more

I love Ninos! I have been going there for years. I'm very, very picky with my pizza. I swear by NY pizza & I'm from NJ but they have pretty good pizza & a great grilled chicken salad that's always fresh. There was a handful of times I stopped in right before closing & got the not so good pizza that was sitting out for a long time . It's all good because I have been satisfied so many times with this place that its ok to have a few slip ups , especially a late night , right before closing time slip up. They are always busy too. read more

The food is good but they totally price gouge!!! Been ordering from here for about 2 years. One day they charged me $14 more. Delivery woman came and said $42 but I ordered $28 in food. Now I call, ask the price for everything, write it down, ask about tax and delivery charge. Shame on you ninos! I love delivered clams and mussels so good, but no good to overcharge!! Parking is right in front but it's a small lot.

Either way, my experience didn't live up to the hype. I visited on a late Saturday night. There's a parking lot behind the restaurant. The entrance can be tricky to find... It's located in the back on the left-hand side. The exterior and interior are both pretty dark, dull, and dingy. It's not the most inviting atmosphere at first. It has a divey, industrial, and rustic vibe to it, but hey... sometimes the best food comes from places that don't look like much. So I try not to judge. It wasn't too busy, and the service was attentive. The menu has your classic American comfort food - wings, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. They switch it up with daily specials like skirt steak, chicken parm, and pasta. They have a full bar with cocktails, drafts, bottled beers, can ciders, and wines. You can even do a four-beer flight and make it a tasting experience! I ordered: *Dark & Stormy Cocktail [Goslings Dark Rum, Ginger Beer, Lime Juice] ($14) - Not the best one I've had, but it was solid. If you like ginger and rum, this is a must try. The dark rum has hints of caramel which works really well with the spicy ginger beer. The lime juice adds a citrus kick, so it's a really refreshing drink. *Margarita ($18) - As a tequila girly, I've had my fair share of margaritas. This one didn't do it for me. It was a little too sour/tart, which overpowered everything else. *Cubano Sandwich [includes roast pork, black forest ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mayo, and mustard with side of fries] ($16) - I wasn't expecting an authentic Cubano from an American sports bar, so my expectations weren't super high. This was good, but not great. The pork was flavorful, but could've been more tender. I wish there were more pickles and mayo for that extra tangy crunch. The bread was pressed a little too hard, so it was a bit tough to bite through. *Double Blackened Chicken Breast Sandwich [includes pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, red peppers, and red onion on brioche with side of fries] ($18) - This was huge and filling! They did not skimp out on the protein. The brioche bun was soft and buttery. The chicken was well seasoned - smoky and savory with crispy charred edges. BUT... to my disappointment, the inside was dry and not juicy at all. Another small issue was the ratio - There was so much chicken compared to the rest of the toppings, so it wasn't the most cohesive sandwich. It really needed more cheese and chipotle mayo to tie all the flavors together. The fries were the best part - thick, crispy, and golden! It's decent bar food, just not the best I've had. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great or memorable. For the price, I didn't feel it was worth it. I do appreciate that their food is served piping hot and fresh. To be fair, this is probably the perfect spot for beer lovers. I happen to not be one, lol. The burger options sound popular and promising too. I'd consider giving them another shot for Happy Hour or to try a burger, but it's not at the top of my list. Just because it's not the sports bar for me, doesn't mean it won't be the one for you.
