These people are complete scam artists. i wouldn't trust them to hang an air freshener over my mirror. I came here to get the afm turned off in my truck. these idiots quoted me over $10k for an engine rebuild. The "rebuild" needed was an exhaust leak, a broken header bolt. 2 gaskets and a set of bolts, 70$ and a day on the weekend. one idiot said wrist pin and one idiot said crankshaft bearing, I think that idiot was the owner (without looking at anything in the engine or the oil filter). I can't imagine how many peoples engines they have destroyed over the years with their shady practices and complete lack of understanding, places like this don't deserve to be in business. After several trips to Street-to-Sand and still seeing fluid on the garage floor, I took it to another shop......a shop highly recommended by 2 classic car clubs. Glad I took their advice. I picked up the truck this morning ,parked it while I detailed it and NO oil on the driveway. It appears the trans oil pan was overtorqued and cracked the seal.....but I was told by Street to sand "it is fixed". The bottom of the pan looked as if the Trans had been drug across a concrete floor. The new shop also installed a shifter seal......seems the old one was damaged. I recommend you shop around before choosing Street to Sand; there are still honest shops that will stand behind their work. You also may want to think about what they charge for parts........and they do not allow a Veteran to take advantage of the discount offered by Summit. Street to Sand does not pay "book price", they get a discount and then turn around and mark up the item anywhere from 30 % to 40% above "book price". Think twice. read more

Misrepresentation,I took my Ram 1500 4X4 in for a leveling kit and airbags in the rear. Dustin guaranteed me that I could run 35's on the truck. not once but three times. now the jobs done and I need tires so I go to get new wheels and tires. I took my truck into street to sand to get it tuned. Within minutes of dropping it off Dustin let me know my thermostats were stuck open and not working properly, I was given a quote of the new repairs and was pleasantly surprised how reasonable it was so I told them to complete the extra work while they had it. After my truck was done I was contacted and told it was ready. All I can say is awesome job guys! My truck has never ran this good since I bought it I can't wait to tow with it! I'm very particular with all my vehicles and i feel they took care of my truck as if it was there own! I will definitely take all my vehicles to them! read more

Wow. Literally all I can say is wow. My father in law went to Street to Sand to put a pro charger on his LS 3 in his Camaro. Spent 16K, which is a ton of money! Unfortunately the car broke on the Dyno --yes, I'm well away that can happen and typically the customer signs some sort of release of liability waiver. However, as a professional shop charging their prices, they should have been up front from day 1 that it wasn't a good idea. Or maybe do a little research prior to install if they were unsure. Apparently, my father in law went there today to have a talk with the owner and pull his car. Which by the way, they weren't giving any discount to have to pull the engine, reinstall a brand new one, and reinstall the pro charger, so probably another 15K? If not more? This is what led to the decision to pull the Camaro. After this nightmare happened, my father in law spoke to someone at Chevrolet because he was confused why it happened and didn't want to be upset with S2S if it truly wasn't their fault. The gentleman at Chevrolet said that LS 3's are a high compression motor and have no business running a pro charger EVER (they can't handle them). Funny enough, one of the employees overheard and agreed!!! Let me paint the picture for anyone not understanding what I'm talking about: the stupidity of this being done, is like someone putting diesel fuel in a gas car. It doesn't work! You will grenade the engine! My father in law asked what they (S2S) can do about it, and the owner had nothing to say. My father in law even suggested he take back the pro charger, and NOPE, "why would I want that?". Being a business owner myself, you always should work with your customers. The client is going to you to get a service done that they aren't able to do themselves. Hot rods break, it happens! And if anything ever happens to any of our customer's vehicles, even years down the line or a car we didn't even work on in the first place, we always help them out. Mainly because it's the right thing to do. This shop doesn't bat an eye funneling money into SEMA builds. Which yes you have sponsors, who don't always throw you 100% free parts, but you are also spending money to make the build happen. It's not like my father in law demanded a full refund, he just wanted the owner to work with him. Show some accountability, apologize maybe? Pay for his tow? Buy the pro charger back? Meet in the middle? SOMETHING! But to be defensive with a 70 yr old retired Vietnam vet, and not do a single thing is beyond unacceptable. It's not acceptable for ANY customer regardless who they are and what their financial situation looks like. What's even more awful is the way my father in law looked today after pulling his car. He's suffering a terrible heart problem from having agent orange dumped on him and the stress this has caused him is getting pretty scary for us. Sure glad he fought in Vietnam for shops like this to even have the freedom to work and do what they love. Sad how some care so much more about money than people these days. Like I said, yes I know how Dyno's work. Engines can break when pushed to the limits and the vehicle owner is typically well aware of it. But for the amount of people (as this is circulating, hey it's a small town!) saying "I can't believe they actually put a pro charger on that engine and ran it!", clearly the shop made a bad call and is at some sort of fault. I'm super SUPER upset my father in law was taken advantage like this and how bad his hearts been going into afib. Not that any of this personal stuff is the shop's problem, but you never know what somebody else is going through. read more

These guys are awesome. They build some of the nicest vehicles I've ever seen. From fully custom built trucks for SEMA to badass 1000 horsepower sand cars for the dunes, and just about everything in between. The all wheel drive dyno and custom tuning (including EFI Live) make this a one stop power shop. I've had them do some work on my Yamaha YFZ450 after the original motor got a little tired from hauling me up the front face of sand mountain too many times. They rebuilt the top end, set me up with some different gearing and dyno tuned it afterward. It runs like a top now and was done at a reasonable cost in a timely manner. With as good as a reputation as these fellas have, they are super busy. Be patient with them when calling or stopping in and I'm sure they'll take good care of you. read more

Let me start off by saying I am super picky when it comes to letting someone work on my cars and trucks. I took my Suburban to Dustin's shop a few years back and I had excellent service. So when I heard from a friend that Street to Sand does not only work on trucks and off road vehicles but cars I had to take my Camaro over to him. We talked about doing a dyno but because of my driving habits we went with a street tune instead. I had just did a bunch of bolt on parts and Dustin checked out what I did and found that the header gaskets that came with the headers were bad. To show you how great of a guy Dustin is he didn't charge me for checking everything out and only had me pay for the upgraded head gaskets. Like I said he is very particular and makes sure all vehicles have floor mats,seat covers and steeiring wheel covers. No cars are left sitting outside with windows down or parked all over the place. Everything is super clean and organized. The showroom is meticulously clean with displays placed through oukot the showroom. Dustin work ethic is superior with his engineering background showing in on work. Street to Sand is the only shop I would trust with my cars and trucks. I went there 3 years ago to ask what i could to do to my truck to more hp. So one of the guys there told me that if wanted to get 100 hp all i would have to do is install 100 pound injectors. At the time i didnt know anything about engines so i believed him . so if it was for stupidity or intentionally giving fals information then there is no reason for anyone to go there. read more

I brought my car in to Street to Sand to get a vibration diagnosed and fixed. I was assured by Tim that it would be done and ready to drive when I picked it up. Two days later he called me saying that plugs needed to be replaced. An hour later he called saying the plug wires needed to be replaced before he could find the reason for the vibration. Later that evening I received another call telling me that my car was ready and there was an additional $100 added to the bill, totaling $880. That night I arrived to pick up my car and paid before checking it out. Bad mistake.* It was just as bad off, if not worse than before I took I there. Dustin and I had words about it because he refused to try to address the problem or give a refund. Dustin told me to go buy a better car and get the Hell out of his shop. Had to take them to court. Stay away or check before you pay. read more

I bought a Sunbeam Tiger some years ago. I have an aversion to carburetors. We put an Edelbrock ProFlo2 on it. Ran OK, but needed a tune. Dustin at Street to Sand made my stock 5.0 block with an E303 cam put out 282 hp at the rear wheels, runs efficiently, I don't worry about running out of gas somewhere between Reno and Tonapah on my ten gallon tank. I took my Nova to Street to Sand to get a vibration out. I also stated that I wanted it ready to drive when it was done. It was a newly built 383 stroker. Tim called me to tell me that my car was ready. When I arrived he was in the parking lot revving the engine. Instead of checking it out for myself first, I went inside to pay $780. He tacked on another $100 totaling $880, saying that my radiator hose came loose. I paid and went to my car. It kept shutting off every time I put it in gear, blowing flames back out of the carburetor. It took 20 minutes to get it onto a trailer, which should have only taken only 2 minutes. I went back in the office to confront Tim about this and he along with another worker hid. I yelled out several times and got no response. Please do not trust Tim and check your vehicle before paying. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. This is going to small claims. True story.* read more
