She was even super helpful about the music and lights in the studio, providing me information about how to use both during my rental. She gave me privacy throughout the rental, but she was in the room next-door in case I needed anything. It's Tennessee, though, so it felt a little more humid than my usual home studios! Poles and floor are in great shape, and they easily swap with the quick-lock tech from X-Pole. Restroom was clean and easily accessible and stocked with band-aids and hair ties and other period products if needed. (I believe the restroom was up a stair, though, for accessibility purposes.) Parking lot is a little small and has seen better days; if you can choose between a compact car or a big-ass truck, your compact car will be able to better get back out of here. Great to see it has a private lot though. Beautiful, photogenic pole studio with a really friendly studio owner.

Milele Academy is located in the Next Level Fitness building entrance but on the right side. This two level space offers a plethora of classes from ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and many more that is suited for every dance and fitness level. First level has a large dance floor with mirrors, disco balls, a flat screen tv that played hip hop videos, lounging areas, and stage/platform that display several trophies. They may have more but that is all I could see without opening doors or being too nosey. Overall it is a clean and comfortable environment. Parking on Church Street can be challenging at times. Luckily their are parking options: -There are a few spots in front of the Fitness Level-Milele Academy building, -Free street meter parking after 6pm, and -Free parking in the Metro Medical parking lot. Overall I enjoyed my experience and highly recommend Milele Academy to anyone who loves to dance and/or has a desire to learn professional choreography.

As a parent of two daughters who danced there for 16 years each, I have had a lot of experience…read morewith BSD. Both my daughters were on the competition team for many years. When they were little, BSD was a warm, welcoming, nurturing home away from home for them. They learned and grew as dancers. When my oldest joined the competition team that had just been formed, I was able to compare and contrast what they were learning with other studios. This is when I realized that the quality of instruction was just barely par. They wanted to stay because they had deep relationships with the other dancers. Fair enough. Things changed after my oldest left for college, and my youngest was one of the most senior dancers. Although my oldest had found proof that the director had flat out stolen competition choreography and presented it as her own, the other parents opted not to speak to her about it. This was the start of the owner and directors revealing themselves. We were repeatedly overcharged, and when we requested itemized invoices, they did not even add up. One of the last statements had overcharged us $1500. My youngest became critical of the director and lack of professionalism. Likewise, she found that she could not trust her because she would tell lies to make up for her shortcomings. Weekly, my daughter would come home from the studio crying because of her experience at dance. Trying to talk with them yeilded no relief. The injury that really damaged our relationship with the family and the owners / director is when they secretly inlisted the teen and junior dancers in a local competition and intentionally left out the senior dancers. When confronted with this, they lied and denied that it was a secret, although none of the other senior dancers knew about it until it was over. Worse, they attempted to put the blame on the senior dancers. All was downhill from there. Some of the best and most dedicated dancers left. But my daughter opted to stick it out because the end of the season was nearing. She danced in the recital, but only a few weeks before she was to compete in the nationals, they cut her and another dancer who they deemed were troublemakers I suppose because they complained about being mistreated over and over again. They cut her from the team by email and would not accept a phone call or a meeting. Our family had been with that school for nearly 20 years, but they never even would show us enough respect to have a conversation about it. I even designed their new studio for them and never sent them an invoice. We were dedicated parents and supporters of that school. Even though that was months ago, my daughter still cries when she looks at her old dance bag. "They loved me. Why did they treat me so badly? Why won't they even talk to me? I dont understand. They taught us to be strong, independent women, and to stand up for ourselves and each other, but when we did they kicked me off the team without even a goodbye or an explaination" is what she just said to me through tears. As a father, this breaks my heart. Not because they mistreated, misguided, misled, and treated my daughter so poorly, but because they also crushed her spirit. If you send your daughter there, dont be fooled by the chandeliers and the sweet smiles. Those women will stab you and your child in the back.

Love love love this dance studio! I signed up for the class on a whim because I was visiting…read moreNashville, and my plans for that night were cancelled last minute. I did not know what I was getting myself into, but it was an amazing experience! They don't have many in person classes a week, so the only option that night I was there was beginner hip hop. That class was open to kids and adults, so expect a range of ages! There were probably about 50 people in the class that night, and I was told that it was a "slow night" for them. The studio is huge though, so I definitely had enough space to do my thing. If you follow them on social media and/or subscribe to their email list, then they post the songs in advance! The class starts with a warm up/stretch. I was fortunate that the instructor was the famous Jordan Grace who founded the studio and has been a backup dancer for a ton of big names! She was so sweet and supportive and damnnn can that girl dance! Afterwards, she started teaching the choreo, and it was probably around 30 seconds or less. We also split into partners or pairs to practice in between to make sure everyone knew the choreo. We also split into groups, so your partner could watch and give you feedback. I was confused at first why the class was more expensive ($32) than a regular dance class in NYC, but I soon found out that they do professional group videos every class that's included in that price. We got into groups of 6 people for the small group video. Everyone is cheering you on, so it was a great supportive environment! Just when I thought the class was over, and we were going to watch Jordan and her assistants do their professional video, she had everyone crowd around the center studio sign, and she pulled me out to the middle of the studio floor for a solo professional video. After my initial sheer panic and the amazing crowd pumping me up, I just let loose and danced, so I got a free solo professional video too! After her video group went, then she also pulls random people out one by one to freestyle in the middle! What an experience - totally different from NYC! They send the videos out a few days after the class through a link that's sent via email. If you want your own solo video, then you can pay an extra $10 and stay after the class to be filmed too! They also offer online tutorials of their choreos too! Overall: HIGHLY recommend if you're ever in Nashville to dance here!!!
