This restaurant has been around for AGES! We used to go here and there like ten years ago but I haven't been back for a long time. Recently went again and it's definitely changed a bit. Parking still sucks, lol. As someone who isn't a huge fan of dim sum or the traditional dim sum tea, I was really happy to see that they now offer HK Style Milk Tea as well as various flavours of slushie and bubble tea offerings. As a milk tea lover, this alone would make me choose this place over another. :) The restaurant itself is quite spacious. When you enter, it's the front counter and a take out shelf (with LOTS of people ordering take out). There is a dining room to the left and to the right. I like that the tables are generously spaced apart, unlike some other dim sum places. Food wise, it's pretty decent, like any other dim sum place. I wouldn't say that it's anything special and no dish really stood out to me. We were a larger group so we ordered 2-3 rounds of stuff, and sometimes would just ask the server to add on a dish for us. I don't know if this was confusing for them or what because a lot of our dishes didn't end up coming. Of course, dishes that didn't come were not charged. The bill itself is a little confusing but they are happy to explain it to you. It's a solid spot for dim sum, nothing too fancy but decent and affordable. I feel like it's a pretty traditional spot. They have early bird specials and it's cheap compared to nearby places. I also tried their stir fry dishes which were around $10 and huge. I love the silver needle noodle dish which isn't always offered at all restaurants. The parking can get pretty chaotic around lunch time. It's a busy spot and may need to wait for a table but the service is overall pretty fast! All the favourite staples are here, my kids really enjoy the deep friend shrimp dumplings, steamed bbq buns, har gow and Siu mai. Even though it's advertised as a cash special pricing, they still charge hst and then 12% tip on top. Tea was $5 mandatory charge, not sure if it's for the pot for the table vs people since there's two kids and two adults. Wow always a great time here haha. We usually come here for dinner but recently discovered their lunch combos! 11-3pm Mon-Fri dine in only and cash only too I believe. We got the small set and it comes with stir fried beef ho fun, 8 salt and pepper spicy fried shrimps, a daily veggie (I think it was Gai lan), a big shareable pot of pumpkin corn congee, and a deep fried maggi sauce tofu and fish dish. We also added their salted egg yolk fried green beans so delish. Service was relatively fast but dishes did take a while and they came out in batches but it wasn't too bad. They got a good variety of items. The best one is probably their steamed rice in pot which is only a large item. We tried all of them, they're all huge and tasty. Went Fancy for dimsum lunch on a Friday. A really popular dimsum restaurant in the Milliken neighborhood. Not too big of a dimsum menu but it's already with good selections at a very reasonable price. Nice food quality with good service. So, as expected, we had a good line in front of us, which moved decently fast. The steamed rice in a pot with chicken feet & pork ribs. Crisped rice cooked at the pot bottom. Perfect match with the sweet soy sauce. Absolutely delicious! The deep-fried eggplant and tofu with shrimp stuffing has a pretty interesting texture and is tasty. Soup dumplings in a bowl (灌湯餃). It was only so-so. Should have skipped this item. They now have a Fancy Tea booth available for bubble drinks, fruit tea, and sparkling soda. Haven't seen people ordered from there. Time for a review update. I hate the Covid pandemic with a passion; it hurt so many businesses and people. Fancy survived the Covid pandemic. It maintains a reasonable pricing strategy. I don't know how they do it, but I greatly appreciate the practice. We like the food for its consistency, wok air, good fried noodle, even better fried rice. The dinner combo are very reasonably priced. During Christmas, they still allow us to order takeouts from the regular combo menu, whereas many restaurants only serve higher priced festive combo during Christmas. The reason why this place could be so popular and busy is because they have all day specials and if paid by cash, the price is the same for small, medium and large. We ordered take out and ate with family. In my hometown, Chinese food is limited and not very good but when we go and visit Toronto, we eat all sorts of good food! Take out: I apologize for not knowing the official name of the dishes. 1. Lobster with "yee mein." I haven't had lobster in years and the meat was so fresh, bouncy, and flavorful. Each piece had a good amount of meat and even for take out, it was really good! The yee mein was on the mushy side but that can't be helped. Aside from the mushiness, the flavor was fine. 2. I think it was orange chicken or something similar. The flavor was fine but the meat was very rough and dry. There was sauce but it didn't help much. 3. Choi sum: it was fine, nothing fancy but it didn't turn yellow or mushy at the end. 4. "white chicken" the meat was very tender and smooth. The skin (I ate abit) was also very nice, bouncy, and the flavor was amazing. No frozen chicken smell or taste. 5. Duck: the duck was good. The meat was fine, not too chewy and again, flavorful! In my hometown, it's hard to even find duck that doesn't taste like frozen ice. 6. Fried green beans and fried little fish. It was a tad spicy but the heat dies away quickly. Even for take out the fried foods were still crispy and crunchy. Loved the flavors and it didn't feel too oily or greasy. We can never find this dish in my hometown. Loved it! 7. Shrimp fried rice. Went here the week after Chinese New Year because I wasn't able to get reservation on the day of CNY. I had to settle with a early dinner because I wasn't able to get a slot during prime time. They gave me a 2 hours seating limit because somebody else had reservation for that table later that night and luckily it was just enough time for us. It's actually good having a early dinner because you'll actually be able to find parking. When we were leaving, people were camping out spots and following us to our car. They even asked me for my spot! On the door of the restaurant, they literally got a sign outside saying full house. No walk in. Their food is amazing as usual. Nothing was bad. I got the special 6 course lobster (4 lbs) combo deal for $129 incl. taxes which is a pretty good deal. You can find this restaurant in the plaza on 14th and Kennedy Rd. Coming on a weekday around 2pm, we were able to get a seat quickly as the restaurant wasn't busy at first. However, it appears that seats were filled up after we sat down. The dishes were overall average at best which is why I gave it three stars. We got our egg tarts, bbq pork pastry, and fried taro pastry. Usually they'd be hot when served, however it was cool by the time we got it. The food was cooked, but I suspect it was left to sit there for a while which is why it got cold. This was the biggest turn off. The chicken feet were also too salty, and the har gow was over cooked as the skin was too soft/stuck together. The soup dumplings barely had any soup, and the skin was also thicker than normal - it tasted more like a dumpling tbh. Would I come here again? Amazing dim sum in markham!!! Would come again and again. They seem to have mostly large tables for groups of 6-10 so our party of 4 was awkwardly spaced out on a large banquet table. We still filled the table surface with lots of dishes so it worked out. Zha Liang was crispy on the inside and not mushy. Chicken feet were perfect. Custard buns tasted weird and mealy and the filling was pretty orange rather than yellow. Lotus leaf sticky rice was delicious with lots of chinese sausage and even some shrimp.
