I'm not sure why this place is rated so poorly. The food was quite good for buffet food. Almost everything I tried was good. There were a few things that weren't perfect, but that's par for the course at a buffet. The service was very friendly and on top of things. As for the food, the cheese Rangoon was a little sweeter than I like, and my son (who is a sushi fiend) said he didn't like the sushi at all. I did like the sushi I had, though, and my daughter liked the sushi she had. The rice was exceptionally good. I believe it was jasmine rice and had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The mushrooms and fried potatoes were excellent. My husband loved his pepper steak. My kids loved the fried rice and said the sweet and sour chicken was awesome. My husband was disappointed they didn't have strawberry cake like they have at most Asian buffets since that's his favorite, but they did have the coffee-flavored cake that my kids and I love. My husband got the cookies and cream cake and said it was very dry. I found the salad bar a little lacking. Would have loved to see a few more options like tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, radish, etc. But what was there was fresh. The fruit was very good quality. I had three orange wedges and they were delicious. Overall, it was a very solid experience. I literally got food poisoning because of this place. The price is honestly crazy for the options of food there is. There's a lack of variety of food for the price we paid. I went there the first time for lunch, food didn't taste good. No seasonings and everything was plain. I had to spit a few things out because it tasted like chemicals or it tasted very old. Absolutely disgusting! If zero stars was an available option that's what I would have chosen! The egg drop soup had a strange taste, the few meat/chicken choices we tried had odd textures and tastes. I didn't like anything that I tried! We regret going here for a late lunch for sure!! I know adults tend to be much more critical of food than kids, however my 3 children disliked the food as well and they love these types of restaurants!! Passing through due to work. My fiancé an I are truck drivers an our companies home terminal is here. We absolutely LOVE Chinese. Especially some good sushi. We saw they were doing takeout for $5 per lb so we decided to give it a try. Hands down the NASTIEST Chinese I have EVER had. Due to COVID-19 everything was takeout only. So we walk through the line letting them know what we wanted. Just looking at the foods I could tell most of it had been sitting for some time. The mushrooms didn't even look right. Looked as if they were sitting in a pool of water instead of the usual sauce. Both my fiancé an I are incredibly disgusted by the food we took home tonight. We even got sushi (quite a bit) an all of it was nasty. Completely unbearable we threw it all out. Everything. Will never come back here again. Do NIT recommend even giving them try. read more

We ventured here after arriving to our favorite restaurant down the street and it was closed an hour early. It was 8pm and we were extremely hungry so we decided to give new China a try. We regretted the decision as soon as we went to the buffet. The food were all sitting in a bed of grease and looked like it has been under the heating lamp for hours without anyone touching it. I'm usually a sucker for crab legs but i was scared to try these. They only had a few tiny legs soaking in water that did not look appetizing. The fiancé and i both grabbed a plate and i ate a quarter of mine, while also having to spit things out because they were too chewy/ not editable. When my fiancé tried the fried zucchini, i could hear him crunch down on it, and not the good crunch. It took him a good minute to chew it down. The only think we enjoyed here was their pudding, fresh cut fruit, and ice cream. Overall, our server was nice, but she handed my fiancé a coke, and it had a fortune stuck to the top rim of the cup. How does that happen people!? Did she not look at the cup while filling the drinks. Any who, worse Chinese/food I've eaten in a while. It cost us $10.99 a person. We will not be back. This is the only place to eat in Lookout Valley. Seriously. We looked up places for dinner near our hotel on Yelp and there were 2 with reviews: one was abandoned and the other looked like a strip club. We found the China Buffet and decided this was the safest bet. It's a pretty typical Chinese buffet, although it does have more options than a lot that I've tried. I guess when you're the only restaurant in town, you've got to be tasty. The buffet was a little pricy, but the drinks are cheap and the food is good. Really bad soup. Just picked up 3 quarts of soup. 2 egg drop and 1 wonton. Neither my husband nor I could eat it. First of all its orange and I'm afraid to know why, its bland and it has so much vinegar or something tangy in it that it doesn't even taste like egg drop soup. However, the fried noodles were fresh and the dumplings in the wonton was actually pretty good. was very tired from road trip.. went in and ordered shrimp broccoli. Went back to hotel .. started to eat it . shrimp started to taste like they contained soap. did not taste right ... so went back with the shrimp broccoli in tow. .. told them about it .. they didnt offer anything except say that it was a different kind of sauce as I told them this doesnt taste anything like the shrimp broccoli we get in Tampa. Since my wife and I had ate about half of it i told them i didnt need to have my money back, just wanted to tell them. i left and then decided i would leave the shrimp broccoli with them.. told them i didnt want to deal with it . the cashier offered to give me half my money back.. I said no thanks... i left them with the shrimp broccoli where the shrimp tastes like soap. I agree with other reviewers that the food is lukewarm and clearly has been sitting. A lot of things were a bit dried out, etc. Oh and some of the crab legs my friend had were slimy on the outside. What you should expect for a Chinese buffet near a Walmart. It's worth it though. I would go back for a quick fix of Chinese buffe
