Overall decent. Great service. The ambiance was very casual. Food was fine. While the food tasted really good, a lot of it was just not hot. They had a very large selection of choices of proteins and vegetables. Prices were comparable to any given buffet.

I went there two days ago and that was the best Chinese buffet I've had in a while. The people was very friendly very nice very accommodating. They made my day wonderful. I cannot say enough. Nice things about that place atmosphere the decorations, the food perfect.

All-you-can-eat Pan Asian buffet offered in spacious dining areas with decor adding to a warm and relaxing atmosphere. When I'm in Chattanooga and wanting Chinese food, this is the place to go to. Every time I order something different. Always glad I did as I sometimes discover new foods which becomes favorites. All the staff are attentive and the service is all the better for it. Be aware of the fact per company policy, a customary 15% service charge is added to all parties of six or more, no matter how tickets are split. I recommend Forbidden City restaurant when you are interested in Asian cuisine and atmosphere.

Food was delicious. Always getting items out of it is getting low. It also has options for kids that want American cuisine.

If your traveling like I was it was kind of a cool feeling to sit amongst the locals . The atmosphere inside is basic but not in a bad way.... Just kind of simple. Trust me it's not a glitzy place at all .... Almost has a throwback feel. The staff is genuine and attentive. Very down home. They serve food from their menu which ranges from breakfast to burgers to regular southern fare. They serve breakfast all day . I did not order the breakfast but what I saw on the tables of people who did ... it looked great ! For a do's also has a Buffet bar. It's very small but very adequate. It was the buffet bar I ate from . It had a modest salad section with lettuce and most of a salad component I had some of their crab salad that was on the bar and it was fantastic. As for the hot food they offered a variety of meats such as BBQ, fried chicken , fried fish, and nice chunks of ham cooked with pineapple. I had the BBQ and fried fish and a little piece of the ham. All was good but the ham was really good. For sides they had Mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac and cheese, broccoli casserole, pinto beans. I had the potatoes and gravy which was very good . I also had the Mac and cheese which wasn't as good . It didn't taste cheesy and wasn't seasoned at all . . My waitress brought me cornbread with plenty of butter and that was good . On the bar they also had a dessert section but I got nothing from there. I did see that it contained jello, fresh fruits, chocolate pudding, and banana pudding. Over all this place was pretty good .... Polite staff nice local atmosphere and pretty good food . Trust me you could do worse . So if ya want some local southern food I'd pick this place . I will be back here next time I'm in Chattanooga.

My mom has been looking for a country style cooking buffet for a while and she was very excited that we found Fernando's and that it was so good! They also have a full menu that we could have ordered from, but we did not even look at it as we came for the buffet. The servers were very nice and attentive. The only annoying thing was that the phone kept ringing off the hook and the checkout girl was too busy to be able to answer it often. The noise was a bit annoying. Everything else- A+

Certainly an unusual place for a restaurant but handy for local business in the area. If you care…read moreat all about our environment this is NOT the place to eat. Everything is throw away. EVERYTHING styrofoam and plastic. Sad to say we were very disappointed. Only options are the food bar. Nothing Greek nor Italian on the bar other than some seasonings added to the food. The food is NOT prepared there, it's brought in turkey sized aluminum pans and then put into the pans in the hot bar. Again, there are styrofoam plates and bowls, no tray to carry your plate on. Plastic forks, spoons, knives. The drinks are expensive, $2.50 each. The fried chicken was good but the salisbury steak is mystery meat, formed patties purchased frozen and gravy covered to mask the 'meat'. There is so much SALT on the greens we couldn't eat them. The mash potatoes were cold and so loaded with seasonings that it overwhelmed any potato taste. The sweet potatoes were cold, creamed and not bad but we like hot food hot. There was a dish with gravy, chicken and a topping of salty crumbled topping that left us wondering what they intended it to be. The green beans were okay but again way too much salt. The prepackaged rolls were okay for prepacked rolls. The salad bar. The lettuce was so wet it was disgusting. It is prepacked and just dumped onto the other lettuce. The other items were the things you expect on a salad bar, cheese, olives, pickled okra etc. All salad bar ingredients were good except the lettuce. We won't return unless there are many better reviews after our visit on March 5th. I do not know how long this 'restaurant' has been open. It is not anything like the Portofino's in East Ridge that we absolutely do enjoy. It was a disappointment eating at the 'homestyle' restaurant.

Chaos Mongolian Grill -- Where You're the Chef of Your Own Feast…read more If you love food that's as unique as you are, Chaos Mongolian Grill in Chattanooga is your playground. Here, you don't just order a meal -- you build it. Start by picking your protein from a lineup that covers all the cravings: tender chicken, juicy steak, fresh fish, plump shrimp, and more. Next, hit the seasoning station like a pro -- dried chopped onions, garlic powder, garlic salt, and plenty of other flavor-boosters are ready to make your creation sing. Then, pile on crisp veggies, crack in some eggs, and drench it all in your choice of sauces. For the base, I'm a noodle loyalist (they soak up every drop of flavor), but rice, cabbage, and other options are on deck. Once your masterpiece is stacked sky-high, the cooks work their magic on the sizzling grill and bring it to your table hot and fresh. It's not all-you-can-eat, but the "stack it as high as you can" rule means you'll still leave full and happy. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the grill team keeps things moving so you're not staring at your empty plate for long. Yes, the building shows its age, but honestly, the flavors are so bold and the experience so fun, you'll barely notice. If you're ready to unleash your inner chef and eat exactly what you're craving, this spot delivers big.

A Birthday I'll Never Forget, For All the Wrong Reasons. If I could give negative stars, I would…read more Save yourself from the embarrassment of this atrocity of a so-called "restaurant." Eight years ago, Rodizio was worth the visit. I returned on my birthday with my sister -- someone I hadn't seen in two years -- and it was the single worst restaurant experience of my life. The place was nearly empty on a Sunday evening, yet it hadn't been swept from corner to corner all day. It reeked of marijuana and mildew. The few guests present were visibly high, including our waitress. The salad bar was a disaster -- contaminated, uncleaned, and unsupervised all day. The meats were overcooked and extremely low quality (they've clearly switched to Sysco or whatever bulk supplier they're using now), sitting on the grill all day due to the lack of customers and still being served. The bathroom looked like a warzone -- water, soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and a diaper covering every surface. Not from a rush. From a full day of absolutely zero maintenance, just like the salad bar. When I tried to use my birthday coupon -- the entire reason I chose this restaurant -- the manager informed me it didn't apply because it was a holiday. A policy mentioned to no one before we were seated, even after I raised it with the host. When I pushed back, she said there was nothing she could do. I asked again, since we were never made aware of it. She dismissed me -- cold and unapologetic. On my birthday. In front of family. I paid the full bill in silence and left humiliated. I've dined everywhere from hole-in-the-wall spots to high-end restaurants across multiple countries. This was the worst -- not just the worst value or worst food, but the worst experience in every possible way. I would've been better off with a cardboard burger from McDonald's. Walk past this place. Save your money, your time, and most of all, your dignity.

Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The restaurant itself felt run-down and dated, but honestly that wouldn't have mattered if the food had been great -- it wasn't. The salad bar was below average and poorly maintained, with several items needing to be restocked. We were there for about an hour, and during that entire time there was never fresh cheese bread or bananas -- just two old pieces that looked like they had been sitting out long before we arrived. We asked multiple times for fresh ones, but nothing ever came. The meat was just okay, the shrimp was not edible, and overall the food lacked the quality I expected. The pineapple was one of the few highlights. The manager asked how things were, and when we gave honest feedback, she seemed surprised but didn't really make any effort to address the issues or improve the experience. Even her overall presentation felt reflective of the restaurant itself -- unkempt and lacking attention to detail. The entire visit felt like a place operating without much pride or urgency, which is unfortunate because the brand has strong potential based on how good it once was. I rarely leave reviews -- in fact, I literally downloaded this app again after years just to share how disappointed I was. This location is hurting the brand. I genuinely hope things improve, because right now it feels like it probably won't make it much longer. Update... I have to update this review due the fact that all 3 of my family members who ate here including me got horrible food poisoning here. Extreme vomiting and also the other end. What a nightmare!!! The only one who dodged a bullet was my mom who decided she rather have a poke bowl at the pace down the street. I will be contacting corporate!
