We always eat in this restaurant, but yesterday May 28,2026 Wednesday, I asked the receptionist to give me a sit near the buffet because my husband is handicap and me having muscle spasm which hard to walk. The receptionist told me, no just follow where the server send you. I told her, there is vacant table near the buffet, mnear also the bathroom. The receptionist loud her voice and said, you are assigned to sit there because your server serves in that area. I was upset and controlling feelings, due of my heart or blood pressure, So What I did write my madness, in the receipt and wrote that "The customer is Always Right, we are not your employee,, Bad receptionist! very bossy. The waitresses were so kind, gave us swift refills, and we got some delicious fortune cookies at the end! Lots of choices on buffet from fruit and salad bar, several soup choices, sushi bar, raw bar with chef available to cook to order, and multiple prepared Asian dinner choices. It's basic buffet place. Wasn't overly busy, we were sat immediately, the place looks like it could use a touch up. Bathrooms were cleaner than most places like this. Food was average, not the best. It's a huge spread of options though, something for everyone in there. It was a quick and easy lunch option, two people cost $21 and change and that was with tax. Can't be too picky over food when it's cheap. Love this buffet spot, they have so many selections of my favorite dishes (fried egg roll, lo Mein, chicken wings, and chicken with broccoli). The one thing I always get is their hot & sour soup, I truly believe it's the best town. Coming at 11am or 4pm guarantees the freshest food. You know a buffet, well... is a buffet. That being said, we really enjoy dining at Buffet King. My favorite is the hibachi grill. I really like the meat options. The buffet has a nice variety of dishes and sides. There are also american dishes that are offered too. Buffet King offers some sushi. Pretty decent buffet. My wife and kids like it here, so we go more often than I would if I were alone. It's really hit or miss on the food quality. Like most buffets, you are better off when it's a little busy. The food gets replenished faster. It's yhe best buffet on the North side of the river, but there aren't many Chinese food options around here either. It's not bad, but I would rather go towards Hamilton Place for Chinese food. this is literally the first time I've ever posted or said anything on yelp about any place, it was that disgustin. I'm a regular here, the food is usually fantastic so I come every other week or so to get take-out from the buffet on my way home from work. The coconut shrimp and crab bake would hurt you. I also love the steamed shrimp. So many choices. 2 buffets, one with water and one with Dr Pepper tax tag and title $26.00. So - you are really hungry and you don't feel like waiting what seems like an eternity to be served at a sit-down restaurant - your best bet is probably a buffet. Apparently lots of diners feel the same way because buffets seem to be popping up everywhere. Buffet King has been around for a long time. It is located over by Memorial of Hixson in what used to be the ToysRUs building but now has a Bargain Hunt and Books a Million. I come by here every couple of months, usually for lunch when I have been shopping at Northgate. Lunch is $7.95. Dinner is $9.95 (not including drink) and there are usually coupons floating around on the deal sites. Unlike a regular restaurant, I try to hit buffets at peak meal hours because the food turnover is a lot better and you end up with options which are much more fresh. Buffet King pretty much has the same line-up no matter when you go. The food is reliably good and filling. There is also a hibachi line which has become my go-to here for a piping hot meal made just how I want it. Three stars because the food is very generic and the desserts are always on the stale side. My only other complaint is that the bathrooms don't seem to be heated or cooled. I went one time in the winter and thought my eyeballs were going to freeze in their sockets (I will not mention what I thought might happen to other parts ;-) This is a reliable place to eat where the service is attentive and you will not leave hungry. Food quality is about what you'd expect at an economy Chinese buffet. That said, here's my short list of what to expect from an economy Chinese buffet. It may temper your expectations and lead to a happier overall life experience. #1: THE BEST TIME TO VISIT A BUFFET: Right before 12 noon and right before 5pm. This is when the buffet tables will be "freshest". #2: DO NOT go to one at 3pm or an hour before closing and then fuss and complain about how "stale" the food was. Buffet tables have a shelf life of about an hour and a half MAX. After that time most hot food in them turns to RUBBER. Deal with it. #3: DO NOT LET YOUR RUG RAT RUN FREE AT THE TABLES: Teach your children "Buffet Table Etiquette". No hands on anything but what's on your plate. Do not put things on your plate and then put them back. Hold your plate with two hands. Get your items and then get out of the way. DO NOT get items you do not intend to eat. (Don't waste food.) I could go on, but you get the picture. #4: Sample one each of any item you think you may like. If it turns out you do not like it, you will not be throwing away a pile of food because you suddenly discovered that the item you chose, (of which there are now 29 on your plate), you didn't like the taste/texture/aroma of. (Don't waste food.) If you find you do like something, (and think you can eat 29 of them), then go get some more on your second visit to the tables. Don't worry, there's always more. #5: LEAVE A FRICKIN' TIP, YOU CHEAP BAS***D! Okay, that was harsh. But the folks working the tables for you have all the bills you have and probably some you don't and make less than you do. Be a sweety, leave 'em a couple of bones that have pictures of dead presidents on them. (This applies to all Chinese buffets & most dining establishments in general.) Nice Buffett with a good verity of food. Went for dinner on a Saturday and had a constant flow of people coming and going. They had about 50-60 dishes including fruits, sides, main dishes, hibachi, sushi, soups and desserts. The food was hot and since it was busy was freshly made. For the price of $9.99 for adults, $6.99 and $3.99 for kids you can't beat it. Service was good. Would go again and again if we lived here. read more

Ok....so this place is ok as far as it goes for a buffet. The food was hot and the service was good. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was not good at all. There are A LOT of families here, with some of the most unruly children (and adults) I have seen in a long time. I realize what kind of place this is (in a strip mall and a Chinese buffet), but people please!!!! Have some respect for the other people and the restaurant staff (and fixtures)! So on the plus side, there are a large number of choices and the items were fresh even at 2:30 pm on Sunday. That's a big positive for me. Hubby really enjoyed the hibachi and I found mine severely lacking in flavor. The teriyaki chicken was very good and the fried plantains were really good as well. The garlic green beans were fresh and crunchy. Overall, I would not shy away from this place for a quick lunch, but probably won't be back until hubby absolutely insists on Chinese buffet again. You get exactly what you want for paying for a $9 Buffet. as long as you don't go in with expectations of a gourmet meal, you will enjoy it just nicely. They have a huge selection of all kinds of chicken and a few American foods, such as Pizza mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Their chicken dumplings were little chewy but when you put them with the sweet sauce they offer I didn't really care. I didn't care as in proceeded to eat eight of them with the sauce.
