It is a small family owned business, and mother cooks all the food. It's only been a month since they moved here from Layton, so they don't have a sign yet, but just go in to the Rayan super market, and navigate yourself to the back of the building. They do have a table off to the side inside the market if you're in a pinch and need to eat there, but I'd recommend taking the food to go. The family is friendly, and if you aren't too familiar with Mediterranean food, they will help you navigate their menu items. They have 2 types of rice. One is a smoked rice (first time I tried it, and it was good!), and the other one is cinnamon. I didn't care for the latter, but the smoked rice was delicious. I was only going to try a bite or two, but I ended up kicking myself off of keto and ate a whole bowl. Chicken special - with rice and salad Salad was a small portion of very fresh lettuce, tomato and cucumber in light oil dressing. Chicken was a bit dry for my taste. They did have the chicken in a warmer plate (like the buffet style) and it must have been sitting there a while. The flavors were good, but the dryness was disappointing. The menu says "half chicken", but we got 2 pieces of thigh+drum. In a way that's good, cuz any breast meat would have been so much more dry. Lamb special - with rice and salad We ordered the cinnamon rice for this dish and the smoked one for the chicken dish. Like I said, the smoked rice was better for my palate. The lamb was delicious. It was falling off the bones, but it wasn't dry. We got 3 large chunks of lamb with bone and one little piece boneless. In both plates, our server piled the rice so high! I hope they don't go out of business giving so much rice! But I'm not complaining. Overall, the meal was delicious and I would definitely go again. The 3.5 star theory is proven true…read more Let me explain. When you're dealing with Asian restaurants-- be it buffet or otherwise, you ALWAYS go for the 3.5 star rated ones. Why? It's because you know the food's going to be good. You don't go there for service. You don't go there for a wine and dine 5-star experience. You go there for all you can eat food. That's the primary goal. If I rated this based on the 3.5 star theory scale, it would be a 5 star. And guess what I'm gonna do next time I go? I'm going to post a 3 star review so mine averages to 3.5 stars. I literally went to this place purely because it was 3.4 star rated when I checked. This was my first experience. Why is 4-star too high? Because it usually means it's fancier, has higher prices, better service... REMEMBER -- if a buffet is 4 or 5 star rated... it's going to have 4 or 5 star pricing!! That's why you go for the 3.5 star. Not 3, that's too low. Chances of food poisoning start getting out of the comfort zone. When I went here, the staff didn't really bother being nice or smiling. They weren't rude, just not really accommodating. You know what I thought about that? One word. "Perfect." We shared an order of Samosas and Samosa Chaat, as well as Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Aloo Paratha (flaky flatbread stuffed with potato), and Garlic Naan. Then we exchanged bites of our individual entrees, including Vegetable Korma, Vegetable Biryani, and Bollywood Special Biryani, which has lamb, beef, chicken, and shrimp (with tails on). You can order mild, medium, or spicy for most dishes. Although they say the mild still has a subtle kick to it. You can order extra mild if you are super sensitive to even mildly spicy foods. Bollywood Grill offers a lunch buffet 7 days a week, with a slight upcharge on weekends for extra offerings. Given that, I'm surprised to find a restaurant that's relatively new AND their primary purpose is serving a buffet. I stopped in early one Monday evening for dinner. The buffet has all of the standard items you'd expect to find on it including broccoli and beef, general tso's chicken, lo mein, egg rolls, and fried rice. Unfortunately, nothing I tried was particularly great. I've had better versions of all of it elsewhere, especially the egg rolls that tasted like they were out of a grocery store freezer section. The spring rolls were slightly better because of the crunchy wrapper, but still had mushy filling inside. The exterior looks like it used to be an Applebee's. The inside looks nice and was at least partially remodeled. The red glow of the heat lamps makes it hard to gauge what the food looks like until it's on your plate and then it's too late to pass on it. One of the people working there came over to me to talk about and apologized for another customer that smelled like pot because they kept going outside to smoke while dining. Ask the person to leave or call the cops; definitely don't gossip about them to other customers.
