Changed name or ownership, but what used to be Lovers Lane Buffet is now Waha Buffet. Nothing has changed and everything seems exactly the same. Had I not tried to look up the place on maps and gotten confused with not being able to find the name, would never have known anything had changed. Still has a nice hibachi and pho. All your staple Chinese buffet fare is there. Sometimes you just need to quench that hunger and they hit the spot. Oh, one thing did kind of change - the sushi selection was more mediocre than how I remembered. I remember at least eating a plate of sushi before, but while I did grab a few pieces, I couldn't see anything better than California rolls and very heavy rice at that. Wouldn't come for sushi. Only the name has changed....from what used to be Lovers Lane Buffet. Still a little simplistic, but you go to Chinese buffet for good, plentiful asian food and that's what you get here. Decor is standard meh dining room but warming tables are kept clean & regularly replenish. Wait staff are friendly and plates are promptly removed. If you like "krab," there's plenty of that in the sushi (I like the size of the sushi which is smallish), the salad bar, and in several entrees. At least a dozen assorted entrees, plus the usual deep-fried meats. Nice variety of fruits, desserts, buns, puddings, etc. Some items may dry up a bit but plenty of other options to choose from. There are also soup noodle & hibachi grill stations if you have specific cravings and time for a leisurely lunch (I didn't try this time). Worth the visit with good pricing (has senior discount), but drinks (e.g., soda) cost extra. read more

It's a buffet, so I suppose you need to set your expectations. We love Asian cuisine and sushi, but would normally go to a sit down restaurant. Our lunch plans changed, so we ended up coming here for a quick lunch. The place is big inside, with two separate large rooms. The buffet is set up in the first room, with seating, and then there is an entirely separate room that is just for seating. It was busy when we arrived around 12:30 on a Friday. Lots of groups of people. We got seated right away. The buffet is large with lots of choices: fruits, hot entrees, baked fish, sushi, etc. Don't like any of those Asian choices? They even had pizza and garlic bread available. I tried many of the different items, and honestly, I was not impressed with any of them. Most of the fried items had too much breading. The fish was overcooked and bland. The sushi was mostly rice, with very little raw fish (but they had other veggie or cooked rolls). The cream cheese wontons were not bad, and some of the desserts were okay. I don't mind a buffet, but I was sincerely disappointed that most of the items were not that good. The lunch price is very reasonable, and I suppose, like the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." The service was very good, and our drinks and dirty plates were well attended to. My parents frequented to the previous Lover's Lane and Waha Buffet seems the same but under new ownership. I'm not a buffet type person usually, but my parents love the variety for price. We came for lunch but apparently dinner has better offerings. There's a large variety of chinese food offerings (orange chicken, stir frys, fried cheese wontons, and more). Lots of protein options with white fish, salmon, fried chicken, and mussels. A separate side for cold salads and another section of sushi and cold seafood. Personally, I was erie on the sushi based on the fish color and just more cautious for buffets that aren't sushi focused. The pho was the best thing, you can get lots of tendon and the broth was soothing. read more

Literally the same as Lovers Lane Sushi and buffet, only the name has changed. Still plenty of hot food options as well as dessert and sushi. We recently stopped in on a Friday night, a little earlier than usual for dinner. It wasn't too busy yet and the staff were busy refilling the hot food stations with fresh items from the kitchen. Our waitress was on top of things with cleaning the empty plates and refilling drinks. For a buffet, they are one of the better establishments around. If you come at a busier time the food is more fresh, obviously. So depending on the hour your experience may be hit or miss. As was before, there's plenty of seating between the two dining areas. Even on really busy nights in the past, we've only waited 25 minutes at most. The turnover of tables is pretty quick. read more

It has such fun interior and classic buffet vibes. The hosts are kind and lovely people, and they make you feel welcomed. They are always seasoned beautifully and have such good texture and flavor with each piece, especially the teriyaki! My girlfriend piled on the clams because they are the best and so tasty! We are always happy to come in and happy leaving whenever we come in. They do have a hibachi station and a soup/noodle station which I think is cool, but we don't ever venture over there. They also have a sushi station and I love it every time :~). Their desserts are awesome, and we had to finish our meal with their donuts and selection of sweets! After a hot day and trekking through Ikea, all we could think about is AYCE sushi. We got to Yelpin' and found this place! We arrived around 3:45p and the place was booming! We were wisely greeted at the host's stand and given a number. We maybe only waited for 5-7minutes before we were given a table and our drink order taken. With two main dining rooms, they were quite packed! The layout was pretty self explanatory and we wound our way around the buffets to make our selections. The hibachi and noodle bar had a decent crowd, but not overwhelming. We decided to skip it this time and focus on some of the other dishes. The variety of proteins was okay, awesome sushi selection, and due to the high volume of customers, food was being turned over and replenished quickly. I was really impressed by the amount of shellfish! It seems to be a popular choice. Some of the aisles are a little cramped to handle that many people, especially since many groups contained 10-15+ so selecting foods and returning our table proved difficult at times. The servers tried their best to keep people corralled, but yknow, people will be animals. The buffets themselves were a bit messy and some stations lacked enough serving-ware for the amount of dishes present. Some of the staff in their hastinsss to replenish dishes would slam down chafing dishes into their recesses and further make more of a mess. I'm sure a lot of the mess was again due to the volume of people and unattended children. So it would be worth returning when it's less busy or during the lunch hours.
