Not the best Chinese. The chicken fried rice didn't have a lot of flavor and was full of the little chicken pieces you'd find in Campbell's soup. I started picking it out. A few onions in the rice but no vegetables. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. No veggies included, but it was pretty good, even though I had to return to get the sweet and sour sauce. It wasn't automatically included in the order. General Tso's chicken was not spicy. Overall, price and location are great, but the food wasn't worth it. Maybe add some vegetarian options or vegetable-heavy dishes. read more

When you first arrive you place your order at the front door where there is a ring camera and a plexiglass window. I ordered the garlic beef and my husband ordered the sesame chicken. The portions are big and could easily fill anyone up. I came during their lunch special hours and only paid $6.75 for the meal and a side of miso soup. The food was good. There is a small table for outdoor eating but that's about it. Overall good place. read more

Yum! My husband had the General Tso's chicken, and it was great! Just enough spice, not really any filler veggies, and a ton of chicken. We also got the crab Rangoon, which for me was too fishy. I guess I am used to fake crab but these tasted like fresh crab meat, so a lot of people might like it. I got the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which had a ton of chicken and that was great. However, I found the sauce to be pretty watery and with not a lot of flavor. Overall, we will be going back and I will just try something else because I am sure I will find something delicious. read more

The workers and owners are so kind here. The food is absolutely amazing. I've been back twice in one day before. The portions are a nice size as well but I can't get over how sweet and kind the staff were in this restaurant. They for sure have found a loyal customer in me. The Food is delicious and the portions are generous. It is a family business that has been here for several years.

We were hoping to finally find a good takeout place, but the food here is lacking in flavor. The shrimp lo mein was just noodles, a few small shrimp, and some cabbage with the noodles- no other veggies. The Szechuan chicken wasn't spicy at all, but other than that it was okay. This spot is fast, reasonably priced, and got our order right. But it's underwhelming even for takeout, so we'll head elsewhere for our takeout fix in the future. read more

Food was very good, delivered on time. Mongolian beef and General Tao's chicken were both spicy, in a great way. Sweet and sour pork had no veggies in the sauce ( our preference is with) just as a heads up. We got take out: General Tso's Chicken, Broccoli with garlic, Schezuan Beef, and Sesame Chicken. They cook the vegetables with the meat right in front of you, so it's at least somewhat fresh. The portion is just about the right size - enough to sate your hunger, but not enough for leftovers. The place was quite busy at noon on a Sunday with everyone partaking of the lunch special. Seeing all the rave reviews for this place, I was excited to see if New China Sun would live up to its hype. I ordered the General Tso's chicken lunch special which came with chicken fried rice and a drink for $5.75. They definitely were very generous with the amount of chicken they gave, but the chicken itself didn't quite cut it for me. Maybe it's because I live 15 min away, so the crunchiness of the chicken didn't last by the time I got home. Or maybe the other reviewers had other entrees. Either way, the chicken was your average General Tso's that may or may not hit the spot depending on your own taste buds. The chicken fried rice was also just okay. This is really good takeout food. They have a great selection,have it ready when I get there, and everything has been really good. They have a good take out system going too during this pandemic where you don't have to go inside. You pay and pickup at the door which is really great. I've been looking for a good chinese place after being SERIOUSLY disappointed with the chinese at Ding How II. I've been spoiled because I've lived in a major city for the last few years. I thought for sure I wouldn't find a place but, this place hits the spot. Its really cheap and the food is pretty good. It will NEVER match the deliciousness of my hometown chinese place, but it will be my go to spot as long as I live in Huntsville. Plus, while I was eating there the owner's two little daughters were sitting in the table over. They were the cutest most joyful kids ever. I had a good time, the food was hot, and yummy. Excellent food. Have eaten here or ratcheted ordered from here for years, over 10 at least. Fast service and is truly a family restaurant with their daughters helping out at the register. Only drawback is they don't deliver. But then again it's one way they can keep their prices so reasonable. read more

In from out of town, was looking for some takeout. The food was fresh and delicious, I had general TSO shrimp, Wonton soup and a couple spring rolls. The young lady behind the counter was very pleasant to deal with she took my order quickly. the order came out within seven minutes, and it was delicious. read more

It was Sunday night, I was in a state and town I had never visited. I couldn't find a good BBQ place that was open (top of the list when visiting Alabama, right?). I pinged Yelp and hit 'China Sun' because it was rated 4.7 (from 10 reviews). Unfortunately, I should have remembered I was in Huntsville, Alabama. My mistake. The family that owns and runs this restaurant is from Southern China; Fujian, I believe they said. Unfortunately for Huntsville, they have adopted the standard "Americanized Chinese" menu. That is, a menu people in America have come and known to be 'Chinese' but isn't. Every dish is sweet and 'spicy' is not. In fact, I didn't see, smell nor taste one flake of pepper. Not even in the medium-spicy Sichuan Beef I had. Of course, the main dish being called in for take out? Sweet and Sour Chicken. Hmph. It's a shame for Huntsville that they can't experience real Chinese food. I'm sure, however, this restaurant will do just fine continuing to serve what people here think is Chinese food. If you do order from China Sun - ask if they can cook your dish in a traditional Chinese style (without the sugar). I didn't ask if they would but am betting they could. read more
