Food: Arrived 30 minutes after they opened everything on the Buffet was luke warm they hadn't even turned the warmers on ahead of time. Noodles cold, fried rice cold, green beans tough and cold sushi had a funny taste. Hoot and sour soup was full of tofu and mushrooms and was luke warm at best. Egg drop soup was really good and the oranges was good. Service: Only one lady was helpful the rest was on there phones with ear buds in avoiding all questions when asked about the food being cold. I love this place!!! They have variety, a big plus. I love the Mongolian grill. I love the Sushi particularly when I get the hand rolled plate made for me at the sushi counter just ask for whatever the sushi chef likes he will amaze you. If you don't have a positive experience here it is because you don't know the food and get the wrong item. They even have ice cream. Try something you've not eaten before. New China is like Old Faithful, it never changes... I have not been there in almost 2 years, and decided to have dinner there last night. It was the same-same buffet offering of yore... The Hibachi Grill Chef a very friendly Hispanic fellow (glad to see they are employing DEI), made me a very nice stir-fry which was not loaded with grease and was very tasty. I observed him constantly cleaning his work are which was nice. The BBQ ribs were the star of the meal. They were cooked very nice, moist and tender, but could have used a bit more tang as they tasted, I don't know a bit blah. The loser item of the night, the wantons! They were cold and hard and could have been used as rocks during a riot. The service, well it has not changed, you see the waiter once, and that's it. You have to flag them down for any additional items you may desire. Just know that going in. Overall it was a good meal, but they should really try and jazz it up some. I should really start reading the reviews before I order. I picked this place through GrubSouth. I wanted hot and sour soup because I'm sick. The soup was neither hot nor sour. It had barely any flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was overcooked and Super dry. My kids usually love it, but barely ate any of it. Super disappointed because when you order through GrubSouth they raise the prices $1-$2 per item and you pay a fee for convenience (none goes to the driver). Ordered for delivery through Grubhub. Delivery and app were all fine. Ordered Broccoli Beef and "Four Seasons", the latter a mix of beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp. The beef in both dishes was inedible. It looked okay, but had a slimy texture that was very unpleasant. Both dishes had a heavy, dull taste. The chicken, pork, and shrimp were edible, but not tasty. The veggies had very poor flavor. I've eaten in at the restaurant multiple times, though almost always at the buffet, and food quality have varied from okay to good. Rice was fine. Wow this pla e has gone down from the old days not just the selection but just rude when I was at the door i was asked (what do you want) Maybe just Chinese humor no it was just rude. As i was eating my food i looked up and over half of the people at the buffet aren't wearing a mask and no one was saying anything. The final thing was the person cleaning the tables was using the same old dirty rag he used on the last 4 tables no joke. The food was ok but do what i shojld have done go somewhere else. The one star goes to the hibachi and that's it. I use to go to this buffet as a kid and I can tell you this place has really gone downhill. My husband and I went here about a week ago and I greeted the server when we walked in but he just looked at me and walked away. Apparently his walking away meant to follow him but he made absolutely no gestures or spoke any words so we just stood there. As we watched him walk away in my head I was like (wtf) then he turned around and "nodded his head" which I guess translates to "follow me". I thought that was extremely rude and also checking out the guy had no hospitality and didn't say a word to us just rang us up and got his money. Onto the buffet: Disgusting. Do not come after 6pm. They don't change the food and just let the food sit there in their pans and dry up. Literally!!! Everything we had was dry. Chicken, crab ragoon, fish, rice. Dry dry dry. They didn't even have chocolate icecream! :( Lol that's me being a brat, but still. The buffet did not have many options and they act like they don't care about the food or customers. This is a great little Chinese Restaurant. I judge Chinese cuisine on their crab Rangoon, fried rice, won ton soup and egg foo young. If they do those well, everything else should be great! Pork fried rice - Excellent! Not too salty and lots of pork. Won ton soup - Excellent! Noodles are soft and stuffing had a great taste. Egg foo young- Amazing! The sauce has a unique flavor that enhances the more bland aspects of the egg. Crab Rangoon - This was the only disappointment. It was all cream cheese inside with tiny specks of crab. I also like just a little butter inside as well. If you go at high traffic times, there is very limited parking, so people get very creative... Overall, this looks like it may become a favorite. I just have to decide what to order next and I may pay the $1.99 Grub Hub delivery fee to avoid the parking issues. read more

I ordered online and drove to pick my order up, and they told me they didn't get my order after I gave them my name and let the host know I was there for a pickup-order. I walked outside and spent 10 minutes trying to pull up my receipt on my phone to show them my order confirmation. The lack of cell phone service proved this task impossible. I went back inside and the host pulled up ( two orders ), one with my name on it, and told me again they hadn't received my order. After looking at the hosts' iPad and pointing to my name, he gave me my order and told me I incorrectly requested my pickup upon arrival. Very disappointing, furthermore simple deductive reasoning exercised by the staff should have made this situation not occur. From the outside (and the surrounding area) my expectations were low, but I was immediately surprised by the updated and upscale decor. They had a large selection and everything I tried was hot and very good. Nice selection on the hibachi bar too, and they make whatever you pick out to order. This was very popular with the patrons. My mother introduced me to this place several years ago and I eat here at least once each time I visit. I really enjoy their food. They have a great selection of American Chinese as well as some American Korean, and American Japanese food as well (be sure to check out my pictures). The restaurant is always clean, and the food is fresh and constantly being changed out to remain that way. One of my favorite offerings is the fresh sushi that is made on site. You can either take pieces from the buffet or you can order whole sushi rolls from the chef. They have fresh wasabi and pickled ginger as sushi condiments. My two favorites are the Spicy Tuna roll and the Spicy Eal roll. Yes, they do take your glass to refill, but other restaurants, including some major chains (i.e. Red Robin) do that too, so it is no big deal. What is good, is that the waitresses do not let your glass go empty and make you wait forever for your next refill like so many other places. Parking can be an issue, but the quality and value of the food far outweighs the issue of cramped parking. As a reserve/national guard military officer, I get to travel quite a bit, and I have to say this is one of the best Chinese Buffets I have ever eaten at. None of the Chinese Buffets around the Baltimore or Aberdeen Proving Grounds area where I live can even touch this place. read more

It has everything you could ask for from your favorite Chinese dishes (fresh sushi, hibachi, chow mein, orange chicken) to delicacies such as ribs and filets of salmon! God forbid if you have a large vehicle, you'll barely be able to get into the parking lot, it's such a tight squeeze maneuvering in there. Food is ok, although a bit salty all around. Seeing unattended children sticking their fingers into things at the buffet really set me off. That is just completely unacceptable. They kept the drinks filled for our group of 9, but committed the ultimate sin in my book for refilling your drink, they took the glasses from the table. New China is one of the better American Chinese restaurants in Huntsville I think. My family reguarly visits here since they opened in this location. I love the "dinner and a show" I call it. I love going here just to watch everyone run for the crab legs when they bring them out! Seriously, it can get quite hilarious! My mom is Korean and grew up eating lots of fresh seafood so she's 1) amongst the throngs of people running for crab legs and 2) gets stared at often for downing (always) at least 2 plates of oysters, muscles, crab legs, sushi, sashimi, a plate of regular food and another for dessert..Mind you if you saw my (tiny) mom and me, you'd think I'm the one who should be downing all that! Okay back to the point. They have the cult Chinese buffet items like fried rice, green beans, chicken on a stick, eggrolls, etc. But my mom thoroughly enjoys the seafood & the sushi bar. If you like seafood of the raw variety, I think this is a really good place to go to get your seafood on a budget. But please remember to tip the sushi guy, I've seen too many people just walk off and not leave him a tip. Think of him as an open bar at a wedding, yeah, he's there to serve you, but you should still drop a dollar or two in the jar to keep them happy. The wait staff has always been very nice, the food is kept fresh most days. The restaurant is kept quite clean and there's plenty of seating. At lunch it can be hard to get into the parking lot with the awkward parking and people not parking in proper spaces, but if you head in a little early you should be okay. Special days like Mother's Day or Father's Day they can get just as packed. So choose your timing wisely on those days, after church is usually the busiest time. We were in town for rocket city regional robotics event and really wanted Chinese food, looked this place up on facebook said 4 stars....that was a lie. We walked in nothing alarming basic Chinese buffet. Food was just ok....then my mom comes to table telling me "stay away from seafood table, bugs are flying around it" then we saw a cockroach crawling around (if you see one you know there are more) I requested my check and we left. We both love Chinese food, but so many Chinese restaurants do not keep the buffets fresh, chicken is tough, places are dirty, etc. Not so with this great buffet and sushi bar and Mongolian Grill!
