Thought we would try a new place in town since become here occasionally since my husband is from here. It's in a strip mall so no curbside appeal, looks old. The inside looks very nice when you walk in and the service was very good, drinks, picking up used dishes... although it's a buffet all you can eat, there is also a menu. Great presentation! Food was okay, not very warm. Lots of choices. Plus desserts, but I've never eaten at a Chinese buffet with good desserts so that wasn't a surprise but they have ice cream! Several flavors to choose from to scoop in your bowl! It's a gamble, depends what you're like and what you're used to. Maybe pretty good for the area but not that great. The food may good but the gentlemen who answers the phone is RUDE. I called to place an order, we are new in town, misspoke the name of the restaurant, he hung up on me while I was in the midst of saying I'm sorry, that's what I meant. Called back to still place a Togo order, he rudely tells me "Okay, THIS IS NEW CHINA BUFFET NOT HONG KONG." Cool. Yeah I know. That's why I called back, but that's okay. I've been here a few times and needless to say... it's not as great as it was a year ago. A year ago, they had a lot more items on the buffet than they do now. It's really skimmed out alot. One dish I Truely loved was the coconut shrimp. It's not there anymore. If you are going to this Chinese place because you love rice, well... this is the place for you. It seems like there is more selections of rice than there are selections of meaty entrees. If you want to go somewhere and not be bothered... this is the place for you. The wait staff only checked up on me ONLY once. She asked if I wanted to see if I wanted more water. Nothing to the effect of actual service. If I needed anything else, was there anything that they can get me, nada. I don't understand or get some of the other reviews where they said customer service was great, because it was simply mediocre. It was only the bare minimum. Great customer service goes way beyond the wait staff just looking like "nice" people. Customer service is when you know the staff not only want to go out of their way for you, but WANT to go out of their way for you and ACTUALLY do it. That is true great customer service. Unfortunately, that was definitely NOT this place. No way jose, not at all. On the flip side, the fried shrimp rice was good. It almost tasted like the boxed Marie Callender's you can get at HEB plus. So, it was really good. The price wasn't too bad either. $8.65 for one person, that is including tax and all. The buffet has a large selection, and the staff is very friendly. As far as buffets go this is a very nice one and we would return.
