Dined there with my sister for the very first time. Did not know the place existed, but found it in the listings of restaurants in the area. The food is great, the people are extremely friendly and accommodating. We arrived for the lunch deal around 3:00 p.m. and were seated immediately and we stayed very close to 6:00 p.m. (not eating beyond the normal, but enjoying our conversation). The staff checked on us to see if we needed more water, they noticed that we were not still dining, but enjoying each others' company, we had paid our bill and were done eating. Did not bother us, or ask us to leave as the place started to fill up with dinner guests, we removed ourselves to the outside (no chairs there--but standing and chatting for at least another 15 minutes). It would be nice if there was a bench there to sit on outside; but the place is large enough that I don't really see the need for a waiting area that would require them to put in one (outside). Not one time did a staff member ask us to leave because we were NOT eating...we had come for a late lunch and good conversation. It was really rewarding to have a business ALLOW us to sit there that long and not continuously ask if we were done, or to leave. They definitely get my vote! I will be returning. Clean, good atmosphere and inviting. Maybe it's the time of day we went, but I have NO complaints about the food, cleanliness or attitudes of the employees/servers. read more

Today, my boyfriend and I decided to come to New City Buffet for dinner. We just heard about this restaurant and we wanted to try it out for ourselves. The entrance and dining area was visibly clean. It is a lovely establishment. The staff was welcoming and quick to sit us down and take our drink orders. The restaurant has a good selection of food items! They have a salad bar, sushi bar, and a dessert area. The sushi is fresh and melts in your mouth. Their chicken egg rolls are warm, crispy, and bursting with flavor. I also had their fried dumplings, chicken kabob, white rice, sautéed mushrooms with shrimp, and the sweet and sour chicken. All of these items were fantastic!! Fresh and seasoned well! For all that you can have at this restaurant, the price is fair. This is the best Asian buffet around. I definitely recommend. read more

We came here often until I noticed they change the receipt AFTER you use a coupon. I had a water with my meal, original receipt brought to the table said 1 Soda which is what my partner had. I had a 10% off coupon. They reprinted my receipt and charged me for 2 sodas to offset the coupon discount. read more

The manager, hostess and server were very rude. From start to finish we are treated like we were an inconvenience to the establishment. We were celebrating my autistic nephew's 22nd birthday, who chooses there frequently because it's his favorite "restaurant ". We had a party of 11 people and we told that can't accommodate 11 people. As we looked around the room, there was multiple empty tables all within proximity to one another. Other customers after us we being seated while we stood for 30 minutes lookout these empty tables. Once we approached the manager He was just at ignorant as the hostess and said hold on I'm getting silverware but never came back. After approaching the hostess again we we're finally seated and there were quite a few empty tables that fit larger parties. Keep in mind this is a BUFFET. How can you not accommodate 11 people. Lol. Nothing too special about this Chinese/Japanese/American style buffet. I personally do not like buffets and this one did not do anything to change my mind. We came here to celebrate my son's birthday and he chose the restaurant. He commented that the sushi was "really good" and that is why he wanted to go. The sushi was meh. The rolls were not great and the tuna and salmon cuts for the sushi were terribly off in ratio. They were slivers of fish on huge balls of rice. Meh again. I went for the hibachi. You choose protein, rice/noodles, and veggies from a cold table and take it to the hibachi cook and they make it fresh. They can add a variety of extremely unhealthy sauces to your meal if you request. I passed on that option. The steam tables host various things none of which enticed me to try them. The only thing I tried was the steam dumplings and they were average. The hibachi was decent so I would steer towards that but at the $15.00 price it is not much worth it unless you gorge yourself on all the offerings. This isn't a place I would revisit if I were making the decision. I would like to point out that the two hours before closing I never saw them replenish their food. The steam table holding the "crab" stayed empty the entire time. This was also the case with a few other offerings. I would see workers move about stirring various food to make it appear fresher, but in reality, it is just dying under the heating lamp. Unless you can eat copious amounts of incredibly terrible for you food then this place really is not for you. read more

I personally haven't experienced any rude behavior from anyone working there. Good food, during COVID they give you plastic knives and forks that are in a plastic bag. I wish I could give this review ZERO stars. I took my 2 adult children here to celebrate my birthday. The food was cold and the selection was limited. The dishes they serve here are tasteless and the food they used was old, freezer-burnt and overly cooked. We have been to this buffet multiple times. As a family of 7, pricing and variety are the main things we look for. The young children have plenty of variety and adults can do sushi and hibachi. I have ibs and went into a flare up in the restaurant. I expressed that I couldn't finished in restaurant what was on my plate but I did not want to waste and asked if I could get a box so I wouldn't waste theyre food ontop of also buying a to go order for my boyfriend. I was double charged for my in-house meal and the man at the front counter Imelda you got short with my grandmother who didn't understand why we were being double charged for a meal bought in house. Most of the food we tried was okay, with some just barely meeting the okay criteria. The (peel & eat) shrimp on the other hand was literally the worst I've ever had. Frozen shrimp from Shop & Save is by far better than what they had here. I really hope what was served here was also frozen, as I'd be baffled by how someone could take fresh shrimp and turn it into what they served here. My wife, who is Asian, commented that the chicken she had, which was cooked in the same style as in the food court of Westmoreland mall, was much better at the mall. Best buffet in a 20 mile radius but has its downsides. The selection of food including the hibachi and sushi bar is broad. We enjoy the habachi and sushi more than anything. The staffing for this place is crazy. I don't think I've been to any restaurant where the workers were less concerned. It's like everyone pops sleeping pills in the morning. The selection is great and the quality of the items is fair to good. There are plenty of options for those who do not care for Chinese food, and our choosy young man enjoyed his french fries and cheesy pizza. Items that should be added are a mixed vegetable dish and a tofu dish. Some items needed refreshing and refilling throughout my visit. The restaurant is very spacious and comfortable. The tables and booths are large and nicely-spaced. Booths can comfortably seat six normal sized people. The downside is that no one is friendly: not the gentleman who seated us, whom I had the impression is an owner, and not our server. Service is satisfactory, not great. We came for dinner. We wanted sushi. We collected our favorites and returned to our seats for start what we thought was going to be a nice meal. While eating my sushi, I came to the pieces of raw fish simply placed on top of rice, I noticed that the fish was brown in the edge so I decided not to eat either piece. When I returned to the buffet, I noticed that all of that particular display had brown edges-not typical for salmon and tuna. When I brought it to the manager's attention, he simply smirked and said it was "not bad, it's still good". We were in the area for a long weekend and wanted to find someplace different to eat. The name of the venue had the words "Bar and Grill" in it and that did attract us because we were curious. This is by far our favorite place to take guests who want Chinese food but have a variety of likes/dislikes. The choices on the buffet are superb and the food it always delicious. The sushi bar is vast and delicious and you certainly cannot beat the hibachi grill! The selection is great and the price is all inclusive for all items. Their seafood weekend/evenings are hit and miss, crab legs are great but you sometimes have to wait because they are such a hit they go faster than you can turn around.
