    Wagasa ceiling
    Thomas S.

I must say I really like the inside, from ceiling to floor the decor is great. They do floating Wagasa's on the ceiling, tea cups along the wall, just every thing down to the lamps is very authentic. Unusually high quality disposable napkins, maybe I'm getting old, but I appreciate a good napkin. Our waiter was very courteous, brought our drinks quickly as we went over the menu. He was able to point out a menu item that was similar to a picture I showed him on my phone. I ordered the Godzilla Roll and my fellow patrons ordered the Cali and Rainbow rolls, and fried noodles. My wife wasn't too fond of the Cali rolls but I ordered the Godzilla Roll and they were really good! Fried noodles were delicious as well. Pina Colada was tall but not very strong, no complaints there. I liked this spot, but I might have to convince my wife to go back again, we had two entirely different experiences. I say give it a try

I have now been here three times. To be honest, if I had limited myself to only basing my review on my first visit, I would not be giving 4 stars. My first visit was when they first opened, and they definitely had some kinks to work out, and for the most part, they did. There was definite portion issues, server issues, and some other customer service issues. For my family, though, food quality itself has remained consistently good. Unlike the one other review there is currently, we've had no issues with our sushi or other food items. Our most recent visit (#3) was by far the best we've had. If we would have had the level of service, quality, and appropriate portion sizes we received during our first visit, I would have been singing the praises of this place everywhere. I'm glad we continued to give them a chance, and I am hoping now that they've been open a little longer, things will continue the way our third visit was. One of the things we really like about this place is that you get rice AND noodles with your meal, in addition to the veggies and shrimp. They have also done a beautiful job with the renovation of the space. We will continue to patronize this location, and I will update the review accordingly.

My boyfriend and I have been here twice now. Each time is amazing. The sushi is delicious and the service is fantastic. The water glass is never empty and they are very quick with all services. I highly recommend the fire roll that is my favorite. My boyfriends favorite is the spicy Santa or the Boston roll. The multiple sushi rolls in the boat for a flat price is such a good deal. Highly recommend

If you go on off hours, there usually isn't a wait, but if you go close to dinner, you will likely have a bit of a wait. (even if you call in a reservation for a larger party). That being said, even when they are completely packed, the pace of getting your food and of service is usually pretty great. The menu has a nice variety, so even if you have someone that won't eat sushi they'll have plenty of things to choose from. A favorite of mine is the pink lady roll. I also love the pepper tuna. The one downside is that they price kids by height. So my son, who is only ten, has been an "adult" there for the last two years. Just be aware that if you have a tall kid, you'll be paying full price. If you like sushi, definitely give it a try!

Of course, this place is a popular place on the weekends with such a great price, but you can make a reservation.. and that alone saved us a 65 minute wait. It is beyond cool to be presented with a menu without prices for every item... because go ahead and order it all... it's a single price. They do denote a few items (lobster roll and a few combo hibachi meats) that would add additional cost. We went with a group of friends and were there for 2.5 hours of glorious food! Crab rangoons, egg rolls, shrimp tempura rolls, avocado rolls, tempura sweet potato rolls, chicken hibachi with noodles, vanilla ice cream... we ate!! The deep fried appetizers are okay, but the fresh rolled sushi... that's the kicker! You can see the seven employees constantly rolling up sushi as fast as they can, but it is so nice to have it fresh for everyone at an all you can eat (not like a premade buffet) The wait staff is constantly checking if you want to order more and they ensure that you get your moneys worth.

There's a paid parking lot across the street as well as metered parking on High Street. Their awning has seen better days but after walking up a small flight of stairs, you enter a cozy restaurant and greeted by its staff. There's about 8 tables for seating and the walls are neatly decorated with Japanese art. The front wall displays photos of their food offerings and made ordering easy. The friendly cashier answered some questions and we placed our order of shoyu ramen, curry rice with chicken katsu, shumai, gyoza, and takoyaki as well as soft drinks. There were several other customers having their meals and more gradually filled the tables as others left. The food was served soon after and looked delicious. They formed a kitty cat with the rice, complete with nori for cat eyes on the curry katsu plate. Nice touch. The curry was very flavorful and just the right consistency and a little spicy which went great with the katsu. Only wish there was more katsu. My buddy's ramen looked fantastic and was told the noodles were delicious in the broth. Found out the noodles aren't made in house but bought from a vendor. The gyoza and shumai were very tasty alone and with its sauce. The takoyaki took some time to cook but was nicely sauced and served. There were sizable chunks of tako inside and was very tasty. The prices are reasonable for a specialty restaurant and the service was great. There's another Japanese restaurant in Morgantown which was very good but Yama's was a little better and I'd return if ever I'm in Morgantown.

They don't do the hibachi "show" but everything was tasty and cooked perfectly. Our service was fast and efficient. We ordered filet and chicken hibachi combo which is served with fried rice and veggies, plus your choice of soup or salad and 2 shrimp. I asked if I could sub noodles for the fried rice, they don't permit substitutions so I ordered a side of the noodles and they were perfect. Atami also offers steak served on an 800 degree stone that cooks at your table. We will definitely be back.

This one came up as a suggested alternative so I thought I would give it a try. I'm glad I did, because it was a great door dash experience. And it was so good that I decided to visit in person shortly after. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall in a busy area off route 30 in Irwin. It is pretty unassuming, but the inside is well maintained and kept clean. It has the look a lot of other Japanese places have - dark wood and lots of blue with semi low lighting. One thing to note is that they do have hibachi entrees, but this isn't a place that does the "shows" and cooks at your table. Service was great. We were greeted and sat quickly, questions were answered and our server was attentive and friendly. They have a pretty standard Japanese/sushi menu. But they also have lunch specials and some special rolls and entrees. They even have some thai entrees which was a bit surprising. We tried several rolls and appetizers. The presentation was great and the rolls had a lot of flavor. Quality was fresh. My son had the hibachi chicken and loved it. Portion size was also great. Overall, a nice place for a Japanese meal, especially if you want to enjoy the cuisine without the whole production of a show.

Located in what sort of look like a depressed shopping center was actually hopping with activity on this Friday evening. We will please to see how many people were sitting at tables and seeing the plates coming out of the kitchen, beautiful presentations steaming full of colors . We started off with safe appetizers and drop wonton mixed soup and an order of the Shumai. These are usually really good barometer dishes for us to tell if we should then move onto either sushi or main dishes or to get up and leave and on this evening we opted to stay for the next round. I had the Key West roll and I have to tell you it was it packs flavor. It was so good and if you like spice and a kick, this is the role for you. We then ordered the green curry with chicken and were blown away by the volume of vegetables how tender the chicken was the incredible flavor of the coconut milk broth. my only reason for not giving a solid five was I felt the restaurant was a little dirty. I understand after the fact that there had been some health grade issues. I'm hoping that they've been resolved, but that sort of sticks with me and bad on me for not noticing that ahead of time , but putting that aside our silverware was all clean. Table was clean. Food was all fresh and that says a lot about a place.
