Our A/C quit working in the middle of a 100+ degree heatwave. I contacted several companies, but most could not make a service trip to me for several days. I was pleasantly surprised that Whirlwind could make it out the next day. Turns out they are great at what they do. Ivan spoke with me on the phone to discuss what was wrong and what might be the cause that night. The next morning, he was here by 9:30am to trouble shoot. Within an hour the A/C was up and running and Ivan had put everything back as it was. Costs were very reasonable and, more importantly, they were exactly as stated before arrival. I liked most that Whirlwind was great at communicating with me, the customer. Both over the phone and in person. They were clear about the types of problems I could be facing with a 17+ year old system and what the worse case might be (full replacement since my A/C uses a now banned refrigerant). While they checked out the system, they kept me informed every step of the way and I earned a few things. When they finished, everything was put back in place, just as it was when they arrived. Beyond that they seemed most knowledgeable of all the companies, and above board. Some of the companies suggested things that didn't need to be done (such as drilling a vent through the wall instead of pulling the air inside the large garage), or shady things like not pulling permits. The company I used for my Air Conditioner misdiagnosed what was wrong. Mr Freeze determined the correct solution and told me what I needed to tell the other HVAC company to fix it (it was under warranty by them). They didn't believe me, and wanted to do their own diagnostics, which ended up shorting out the furnace. It ended up Mr. Freeze was correct. They were also very friendly and prompt. Also, we received an invoice but nothing itemized, no details to what was done or looked at. I thought that was weird.
