Visited to celebrate our brother's high school graduation and New Fujiya House was a great pick! We reserved a space for 7 people, including one wheelchair, on a Saturday at 7pm. The restaurant wasn't all that busy, but it's smaller inside so we wanted to be safe rather than sorry! I felt like the menu was a little limited on hot foods compared to other Japanese restaurants but there was still a large enough selection that everyone could find something they enjoyed. Several of us ordered the teppanyaki meals, with a variety of meats across the table - chicken, steak, scallops, shrimp. Start off by saying, the owner is a very sweet man and kills it behind the cook top; he also makes some great sushi. They now have a ramen bar which is kinda cool and some sushi lunch specials. Edwin was our chef and he was awesome. He joked and laughed with our group and performed volcano onion and fire juggling. The food was delicious and I look forward to leftovers tonight. Came here for the first time for my mom's birthday. She loves Japanese steak houses where she can see the food being prepared in front of you. I had called 2 days before to reserve because I was thinking they get busy but that Sunday night, it was not busy at all. Traffic was crazy and I had called them to change the time, they were very polite. They knew it was a birthday celebration as well and they said they will something nice for the bday person. My family was seated right away, I was late so they waited for me before taking orders. We did have to wait a little more before someone came to take orders. I liked the atmosphere, staff was kind and answered our questions. The salad and the soup was great. My dad is vegan and they made sure to make his separately and how he wanted his food. The rest of us got chicken and streak, and we all liked it. He brought out shrimp and started cooking it and we were confused cuz we don't eat shrimp and never ordered it. We absolutely love it here! We come almost weekly because I'm obsessed with hibachi, and this place always feels like home. The staff is incredible...so friendly and attentive. Mimi especially is amazing and truly goes out of her way to make everyone feel like family. The food is consistently delicious, the music is fun, and the atmosphere is great. Visited here over Memorial Day weekend. Had such an odd experience... It was empty when we arrived. We were sat in the back (4 of us total). They sat another party of 3 at our table. Our hibachi chef was a woman that only spoke Spanish. We weren't initially concerned because she seemed to understand our orders. Issue #1: The fried rice only consisted of 1 egg (for 7 people), CORN, and a shit ton of yum yum sauce. That's it! I have never in my life been served fried rice like this. No mixed veggies? Also, corn??? So random. Issue #2: Almost everyone at our table ordered filet. She went around and asked everyone how they'd like their filet cooked. It was obvious she didn't understand what everyone requested. All filet was cooked the same. Issue #3: Almost everyone at our table also ordered chicken. She did not cook enough chicken for everyone, so someone in my party didn't initially get any. Once she realized, they brought her more chicken and it sat on the corner of the grill while she cooked all the filet. I've never seen this before but it didn't feel right. Issue #4: Overall, it was poor hibachi experience. There was no "show" per se like the other tables received. The part where she did the onion volcano... she put an unnecessary amount of fluid on it and just set it on fire. It was obvious she didn't know what she was doing. Not only that, but she did not interact with us whatsoever. However, she spoke Spanish to the other party at our table and that was it. It was such a disappointing experience - especially since I visited many years ago and remember having a good experience. From reading the other reviews, it appears they are now under new management which may be why my two experiences were so opposite. My recommendation - do NOT come here! Especially if you have family from out of town that wants to try a local hibachi spot. Go to literally any other hibachi restaurant in the area and you'll have a MUCH BETTER experience. read more

It was a really nice experience! The staff were really kind and friendly. We had came to celebrate my husband's birthday and they even offered a free slice of cheese cake with a sparkling candle along with singing happy birthday. A plus is that they offer ramen as well. Mr. Purdie has been to Japan over 12 times and really enjoys the ambiance here. When he comes in from out of state, we always come here. This place would get 5/5 from me IF the waiter was actually attentive. The chef was literally CHEFS KISS great and entertaining but what was horrible is when you are forced to sit and wait for drinks for 15+ minutes so sip slow basically. I got a water and a mixed drink and that alone took 10+ minutes as we could see the waiter just sitting at the bar himself looking around. Another waitress had to come over and refill the whole tables drinks and at one points someone that was at our table had to get up and physically give her empty cup to our waiter at the bar. We visited this place on a Friday night on a whim really and honestly had a great time. We had the fresh prince roll and Barbie rolls from the sushi bar both spicy both delicious and steak, chicken and tofu hibachi. The tofu was super salty but other than that our experience was wonderful. Ali was our chef and he was truly amazing just very personable and funny. We talked to him for maybe 15-20 extra minutes about sports and current events. Just honestly a great guy. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Arrived this evening, the place wasn't very busy at all, but the Sushi bar was occupied, they sat us at a table instead, and that's where we sat for 25 mins before we finally got someone to take our order, we watched 2 families come in after us and were served immediately... finally had enough and left, definitely use to be a great place to get Sushi, has definitely gone down hill.. probably won't be back. read more

But the chef messed up and went to a table that was seated after us and starting serving them.
