We've been taking out food from New Great Wall for years and they've always been good. They don't deliver but take the best safety precautions during these pandemic days. Until tonight I would have rated them higher. We ordered wonton soup and orange chicken. When we began eating the wontons we found out they meat inside was spoiled rotten. You could tell by taste and smell. Never had I had this with a restaurant before. The rest of the food seemed fine but we were afraid to continue to eat it. I called them up to tell them about it and the woman on the phone said no one else they sold it to had a problem. I said it was really spoiled. They offered to refund me for the soup, but that was all I got from them. Not even concern over their food being contaminated. I said never mind we wouldn't eat there again. A shame. read more

The prices are below average. 10 won tons are $3.50, an egg roll is $1.30, and all the lo mein, chop suey and fried rice are under $5/pint. The combo meals like General Tso's chicken, beef and snow peas, sweet and sour chicken, and chow mei fun are all around $7. Very large dishes, platters, seafood dishes (can't vouch for the seafood) and specialities run about $7 to $15. One of my favorite big dishes is the barbecue spare ribs, which costs about $10 and consists of approximately three hungry college student dinners. Here are my favorite things to get at Great Wall: - Chow mei fun - Lo mein - Egg rolls and won tons - Chicken/pork/beef and broccoli - Sweet and sour dishes Tonight I had won tons, and chop suey for the first time. The food is not very good. Its bland, tasteless, and even for hole in the wall chinese its too oily. It also seems nobody mans the front of the restaurant. When you walk in you have to wait around for maybe 5 to 10 minutes before someone comes out to talk to you. First time here. Service was good, but I'm confident that I won't return. Got hot and sour soup. Had a funky plastic taste; had to add soy sauce and hot sauce because it had no soup flavor. Fair at best. Used to be better. Ordered a dish and it had 3 pieces of pork, and the rest was cheap vegetables (cabbage). Wait is always 30 minutes... even though they tell you 15. Okay, this was a case of - if I saw the storefront before I phoned in an order from their website, I never would've placed one. I was staying at a friend's in Killingworth while they were away, so I wasn't familiar with the place. When I walked into the rundown looking storefront to pick up my food, there were a lot of flies. I suspect a visit from the health department wouldn't go well. When I got the food home, the dumplings were mushy and they, along with the dipping sauce had little flavor. The boneless ribs were gristley and oversauced. People of Killingworth, drive an extra 10 minutes down to Clinton or Madison for better Chinese. Just moved to the area, ordered two delicacies, the plate doesn't match description and sauce is flavorless. So called scallops can be mistaken for water chestnuts, no imported black mushrooms, carrots and celery abundant but not in description. For a nearly $15 dish its a rip off.
