We went for a Friday lunch. The prices were good for a lunch menu, but one of us got the sushi and sashimi lunch and the other got the 3 roll special. Unfortunately, the sushi (esp the tuna) was not all that fresh. - made us wonder whether the lunch specials were made using fish left over from the night before. Service was fast. It's not often that I would drive nearly an hour just for sushi, but Mr. J Asian Bistro is worth it! All of the fish was noticeably fresh and high-quality, and we were impressed by the presentation of some of their creative rolls. I like that they also serve Chinese and Thai dishes here, and even though we only had Japanese dishes on this visit, we look forward to coming back and trying more. Everything arrived to the table quickly, and the staff were kind and attentive. The restaurant itself had a nice vibe, and we sat across from the sushi bar which was exceptionally clean. Heard mixed reviews from coworkers/Yelp, and decided to try it out for myself. I was not disappointed, and ate the best meal I've had in a while! The food is amazing, and the price is right for the cuisine. However, the portions are big and very good. Wasn't feeling hungry after my meal. Their Lo Mien is very light compared to others I've had in the past and still tastes good; if you're not a fan of overly salty Asian cuisine, this is the place to go. They offer a large selection of Asian food, from multiple cultures. This place will satisfy any palate. Don't let the price tag deter you from trying this location! The service here was outstanding, with the staff greeting my party when we entered, helping us to our table, and serving us. Very sociable with my party and other patrons, and very attentive. Servers came by whenever I was low on water and refilled it. Overall great staff that do good work! The ambiance of this restaurant was very pleasant. Although I've heard this place is popular for its takeout, dining is was just as much a great experience. The atmosphere can get a tad loud with a lot of people, however it was pretty empty when I went (due to takeouts popularity). If you decide to dine in, you'll be treated to a lovely atmosphere with pretty artwork and decor. They give you glass plates, silverware, and reusable napkins. Gluten free friendly! Ordered pick up with some friends the other night and the place was packed! I called ahead to see if they had accommodations for gluten allergies and they said if well we're ordering online to make sure to check the box "gluten free" and they'd take it from there. Came for dinner with the family on a Friday night. There's a small deck overlooking the parking lot and Boston Post Rd, but we decided to eat inside We had a reservation, but didn't need it. Only a couple others in the restaurant, but there seems to be a robust takeout business. Dining area was pretty dark. Service was good and our waitress was attentive. We have been looking for something similar in our area, and after a quick search, we found Mr Js. We made a reservation through Google Assistance, and it was easy. We arrived for our dinner this Saturday and the place was busy. There is a sit-down bar to the right as you enter, a sushi sit-down bar up front and a decent sized dining room. We were quickly shown our seats ,got menus, and began to settle in. We ordered a couple of signature cocktails, a blue China for my wife and a pear martini for me. They arrived quickly and were great. The menu covers a variety of Asian cuisine, from sushi to Thai,Japanese, and traditional Chinese. We started with the mini crispy spring rolls, 8 to an order with a duck sauce on the side. Word of warning, the arrived as hot as molten lava, so be careful. With that said, they were excellent, crispy on the outside and almost creamy inside. We continued the meal with 2 vegetarian sushi rolls. The aac roll, avocado, asparagus and cucumber which was fresh and light and a vegetable tempura roll which was equally delicious. Unfortunately, I attacked the rolls before I realized that I hadn't gotten a pic. The rolls were accompanied with a good sized dollop of Wasabi and picked ginger. For dinner, we ordered another round of drinks, this time my wife tried the pear martini and I got the ichinon(?). We decided to split the curry chicken entree off the Chinese section of the menu. The spicy rolls (tuna, salmon, and yellowtail) basically all tasted the same and it was hard to tell which was which. Boston roll was ok. Manhattan roll was sooo saucy and had way too much spicy tuna on top. Decent flavor but it all kind of blended together and I had to eat each piece in several bites, which is not ideal for sushi in my opinion. Gyoza was good and gyoza sauce was great. Got sushi from Mr. j for Friday night take out. The sushi was so fresh and delicious!!!! My husband said the place was busy when he picked up- always a good sign. We got a mix of rolls and special rolls. The shrimp tempura was out of this world and I could have eaten more even though it's usually not my go to. The Godzilla, American Dream, and Hanna special rolls were all delicious!!!!
