Our go-to local take out. It's nothing special in terms of ambiance, but we never eat there. Always take out. Actually the dining room seems a little depressing. But they are fast. Usually around 15-20 min from order to text saying it's ready. For what we get it's as good as my New Yorker heart has gotten at home. I stopped into this spot last night after doing some late evening grocery shopping at the Kroger nearby. They are located in the same shopping center. I got the shrimp fried rice and the 8-count wings. The rice was hot and cooked to order but it seems like the wings may not have been. The rice had ample shrimp in it and they were really good. New Hans is our Chinese go to spot in Marietta. I've been going here for about 7 months, weekly and it never disappoints. The amount of food you receive here is definitely worth it. A couple of our favorites are: teriyaki chicken, honey chicken, black pepper chicken, Mongolian beef and the General Tso. Their chicken wings are super good and the food is always fresh! I also can remember when the egg roll was bigger and full these were more wrapper that filling I wouldn't mind it being smaller if there were at least equal ratio of filling to wrapper .. all I. I would say a surprise Strip Mall "Hole in the Wall", but the location isn't quite a Strip Mall and it's also not quite a "Hole in the Wall"!? It seems more like a Take-Out spot, as there was little foot traffic and sparse ambience. It has a current 96 Health Score, soooooooo, what's most important to you? We decided to try a different Chinese place, and this was it! My wife is picky with Chinese food, so if she likes it, that is saying something. Lol. She loved the food. We have tried the Shrimp fried rice ($2 extra shrimp) and it was terrific. The egg drop soup was also a success. I also tried the roasted pork and vegetables and it was very good. This is based on 2 visits. Friday 1/24/14. Ordered the teriyaki chicken-comes with fried rice, and your choice of 3 wings or an egg roll for $7. I choose the wings. The portions was a good size. I could have easily saved some for the next day but I ate it all in one setting. I give it 3 stars and the only downgrade was the amount of onions on top of the chicken. It was a rediculous amount of onions. Luckily they were sauteed and not flat out raw. Also the wings tasted like the grease needed to be changed. Rating 2/5 Sunday 1/26/14. But it tasted so much better. There weren't any onions as on the teriyaki. The wings actually tasted like KFC chicken which is a good thing in my opinion. I visited this restaurant around 5pm and there were no customers present. If you are expected to be greeted upon entering or even greeted as you look the female order taker at the register in the eyes (with a smile on your face) you can forget it. She did not greet me, but kept her hand in the register eagerly anxious to take my order [thus my money]. I did the next most courteous thing and said hello. She nodded ever so slightly. At this point I assumed that she could not speak English very well. I told her my order, she repeated my order (with perfect English] AND told me my total. The ambiance of the restaurant was on par with other Chinese takeouts. It was fairly clean. There was an odor akin to the smell of an old mop in the air. My spring roll was freshly fried (couldn't go wrong). I don't over spend my money where I'm not acknowledged. I abhor poor customer service. There are far too many other dining options where my person and my dollar will be appreciated. My personal experience to create this review is worth more than the $1 plus tax that I spent. I wish I would have taken a picture because it was bad. This should have been my first warning. When I took the first bite, the chicken was almost like mush. It had no texture to it. I am not sure what that was, but it was not chicken. The over all flavor of the dish was bland at best. I used a ton of soy sauce to try and flavor it up, to no avail! My husband and I were about to go grocery shop at Kroger and we were both famished. Deciding not to make the error of Krogering while hungry, we stopped in to eat at New Han's Chinese. First and foremost, they are clearly not used to having patrons who eat inside their restaurant. It is clearly much more of a take out/ delivery kind of place. So the guy was shocked when we came in and intended to eat inside. They have no real plates or silverware. Everything is plastic and paper and tiny. They only have a cooler with bottled and canned drinks. That was fine except it is really hard to eat Chinese food with a small little plastic fork. It was laughable. We ordered the General Tso's Lunch Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, Wonton Soup, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon, and MuShu Shrimp. (I told you that we were hungry!). Everything came out hot and fresh. That being said, it was just ok. The egg rolls were deep fried cabbage rolls that had little to nothing else inside. The "Crab Rangoon" had very small bits of cream cheese inside. The pork fried rice was this weird yellow rice that didn't have much flavor to it. The MuShu shrimp was just gross. The Wonton soup was fine and the General Tso's chicken was okay. Nothing was good enough to even make a positive comment about....AND WE WERE STARVING. So, if that is how the food is hot and fresh, I wonder how anyone can say that this food is good for takeout or delivery. I would imagine this food being gross after sitting for a while and being cold. The one positive about the place is everything is pretty cheap. That is the only reason that it gets 2 stars instead of 1. Overall, I would probably skip New Han's. read more

Everything was GREAT!!!!!!! My suggestion though, is to make sure that your ordering the correct thing. MY ERROR , I ordered the chicken with broccoli as a combo. Then I ordered the house fried rice with the beef with mixed vegetables. The beef came as a meal with white rice. So that means I had an extra order of white rice and a smaller order of beeg. I live just down the street and first tried this place out about a month ago. I think I've been back 3 times since! Having been disappointed by the quality of other Chinese restaurants in the area, I was really glad to stumble on New Han's. The Food: I have tried the Honey Chicken, Sesame Chicken, General Tso Chicken, and Orange Chicken along with both the white rice and fried rice. I have also had their egg rolls and egg drop soup. Of all the chicken I've had, I like their Honey Chicken best. It is very light and has great flavor. Overall, everything I have had has been pretty delicious. The egg drop soup comes in a sizable container for a small and is very tasty! I was not a fan of the fried rice at all the first time I ate here and have gotten white rice ever since. Portions are large - they do not hold back! The Service: This is where New Han's gets docked a star. I'm very big on customer service and when you come here, you will very much feel like another order rather than a customer. Normally, I wouldn't return to a place that didn't make me fill like my business was valued. That said ... the food is so good I have learned to look past it. There is a reason they get so much business despite not being very personable. The Price: Sesame Chicken with White Rice and Egg Drop Soup for less than $6? Yes please. The lunch menu prices are amazing. You get a choice of soup or egg roll with your meal. Dinner prices are also quite good. If your take-out total is over $10, you can get a free Egg Roll. But you're going to have to ask - they will not volunteer it. The Bottom Line: This is my go to place when I'm craving some good Chinese. While I don't feel like anyone's best friend when I'm here, the food has been consistently good enough to keep me coming back. Keep in mind that there isn't much seating for dining in.
