One of Vinings' best-kept secrets! Tucked away near Paces Ferry, the atmosphere here is surprisingly peaceful. The staff was incredibly attentive, and my food arrived hot and fresh. I live in Miami, Florida, and was visiting great friends in Atlanta. My Buddy highly recommended the food from China Moon Restaurant. We made a Takeout Order. At that time, it was clearly communicated that I had a severe Shellfish Allergy. Specifically, requesting that my Chinese Chicken Dinner be prepared separately from the other Dishes. We returned home and consumed the Meals. Upon awakening in the middle of the night, I discovered that I had been exposed to Shellfish somewhere in the Restaurant's Kitchen Preparation Area. I had a severe Allergic Reaction that caused me to be hospitalized and treated for multiple days! Shellfish Allergies are no joke and can kill. Every Restaurant must take them seriously and not combine Cooking Oils or Food Preparation Areas. Sadly, my initial experience with China Moon's takeout was a personal medical disaster!! read more

This place happens to be across the street from my office, so since I haven't been in a while, and heard they were under new management I thought I'd try it again. Ordered the dinner Shrimp Egg Fu Yung, that comes with three patties. One of the patties had one (1) shrimp and the other two had 2 shrimp. Wish I had taken a picture. I paid $16.00+ (food plus tip for take-out) for fried eggs and onions. If you're in Vinings choose Orient Express instead, they may cost more but the food quality and quantity is much much better. read more

Your typical full of flavor and quick Chinese restaurant. The service was excellent, the food was neatly prepared, and they were very timely. I was visiting in the area and saw that this had decent reviews. I would encourage you not to go here. I spent $28 and I may have eaten 4 tablespoons. I was overcharged told the menu hasn't been updated. I ordered the egg for Young. I think there was two shrimps in each patty. I was told the rice had eggs, carrots onions I had to dig through to find any eggs and maybe you had two or three carrots I think it was full of onions, though I have never given a one, but this place gets a one if I could give it zero it would've gotten zero I should've taken it back, but I didn't. It's obvious to my family that I'm over the moon about China Moon! Cheesy, but true. My family has our select go to entrees for dining in and/or takeout which makes it easy to come back again and again. Singapore Rice Noodles all vegetables, extra extra extra spicy and extra dry, don't hold back on the egg because I need my protein. Having a gluten allergy makes my ordering of late simple and specific. My husband likes the seafood fried rice, the fried wings and spring rolls are his staples. The ambience inside is one of peace and tranquility. The food comes out expeditiously and is always hot and fresh up. They offer enough portion wise that I end up have a couple of days worth leftovers. If I'm not mistaken they offer delivery, but I've never used heir services. I'm grateful to have found a go to spot for decent Chinese takeout. And their sweet tea hits the spot! read more

I had the Mongolian chicken with fried rice ($17) & spring rolls ($5) which both were delicious. The chicken was nice and saucy. The rice was flavorful. The beef lo mein is superb as is their general Tso's. The general surprisingly kept its crispness even after being delivered. I really like China Moon. It feels like your real old school Chinese restaurant. Most people are getting takeout at the moment. My party dined in recently. I must say my friend introduced me to Sizzling Rice Soup- this is a game changer and many Chinese restaurants do not offer it. You must get this when you eat here. It only comes as a serving for 2. After ordering from Canton Cooks II for years in Sandy Springs, my friends and I shifted our Chinese takeout orders to China Moon recently and have been very pleased with our decision. The menu and food is excellent; the menu is larger and more interesting than a lot of other places and the food is well-executed despite the menu size. As a small experiment, we ordered beef chow fun from three different places in the area and found China Moon's to be the best, with the other two either far too oily or too sweet. That's just one example, but our food from China Moon has consistently been great. More importantly, China Moon's customer service is outstanding. One of my friends is allergic to black pepper and can't handle any spice. The lady at the China Moon front desk patiently worked with me to find a dish that they exclude black pepper from with minimal fuss and, more importantly, the kitchen executed our request. At a time when most takeout places straight up don't know if their dishes have any spice or not and their kitchens will douse dishes in pepper despite clear requests not to, this was a godsend. Orders are also ready when they're supposed to be ready and the staff is friendly to chat with during our waits. Glad we found this place and will be ordering from them more. read more

This has become our new favorite Chinese takeout spot. So far, we've tried and liked the General Tso's, orange peel beef, and shrimp spring rolls. All are very good. We especially like the spring rolls, which use the spring roll papers you normally see at most restaurants, but the rolls are larger than normal and with larger shrimp. I just moved into my new apartment and this place was in walking distance so I decided to give it a try. The menu didn't do a great job at describing exactly what came with the dinner entrees but upon calling I found out it came with steamed rice which was a plus. I also got soy sauce, duck sauce, and a fortune cookie with my sesame chicken, which was an above average sized portion I'm not sure if I'll ever dine in, but the restaurant seemed to have a good ambiance. The lady who answered the phone was extremely friendly both them and when I picked up my order. I say all of that to say, I'll definitely be coming back here. The food is much much better though. This is Americanized Chinese and consistently good food. They have a wide range of choices and their prices are reasonable. They are very good about catering to each customer's specifications. The staff and the owner are super nice and eager to please customers. They have a relaxing small dining room with great service.
