The woman who took our order and greeted us was quick, polite, and efficient. She clarified whether we wanted egg or spring rolls and I appreciate that as well as her promptness with letting us know the wait. (we ordered about 15 min before we arrived so we knew there would likely be a slight wait). While the service was pleasant, there was a slight smell in the restaurant even tho employees were cleaning right before closing. Most importantly the two stars are because the food quality was poor. Chicken was not cooked well (but thankfully not raw), there was not enough seasoning or marinade for chicken (ex: no garlic taste) and very minimal vegetable included in hunan chicken dish which comes with carrots broccolli among other vegetables normally depending on the restaurant. Food was hot when served but half of the portion was brown rice listed as "fried rice" but had no veggies or eggs and also seemed bland. Besides soy it lacked a lot of flavor, and this was disappointing. I hope cuisine improves in future hopefully this was related to ordering near closing time (45 min before) but unfortunately I would not return due to this experience. I wish them the best and service seems like it would be decent, but food quality is priority for me. read more

My son loves their crab rangoon. Also a go to for egg drop soup when you're feeling under the weather. I'd pick this place over a fast food chain every day if the week. I have lived around the corner and have driven by Peking Garden countless times over the last few years and finally I stopped by for lunch, and was happy I did so. I had heard through family and friends that Peking served tasty, well portioned, always hot and great priced Chinese food...so, what is not to love about all that! If you ever cruise up and down South Cobb Drive between the Concord Road and Windy Hill Road intersections, there is a high probability that you saw the building that is 80% green roof tile with a bunch of angled and sloped walls and roof lines...and that building would be the one and only Peking Garden. It has been in Smyrna for around 30 years and I do not think the building has changed too much since they opened. While the decor and overall look scream dated, they do maintain it all quite well, so I am not mad at it! Parking is limited with spots lining the sides and front, but in the event they fill up then you can grab a spot in the massive lot that is directly behind the restaurant. Service was great! We were sat immediately upon entry and gave our drink and food order within moments. Once she delivered the food, she came back to check on us through out and made sure we had the check before we were ready to ensure no wait. Check out was equally easy. When you walk in, you are transported back to a Chinese restaurant of the 90's that features beaded curtains, ornamental ceilings, large art pieces, dim lighting, a fish tank and lots of the color red. Again, not hating on it as it definitely took me back to some of my favorite spots down in Newnan from my childhood! As with most Chinese restaurants, they have an extensive menu with all the favorites and a few house specialties. We happened by for lunch, so we hit the lunch menu which again had all the favorites you are used to. The average price was around $6 - $7 for a lunch meal that consisted of the protein, fried rice, soup and choice of egg roll, spring role or chicken wing. I ended up getting the tried and true OG meal of Sesame Chicken. For the soup I got wonton and I chose the egg roll. My Aunt got the Sweet and Sour Chicken with the same side choices. Both meals came out piping hot, so you know they were cooked fresh. In addition to being freshly prepared, they were portioned quite well, especially for a lunch portion! The only complaint was the "fried rice" which appeared to just be rice cooked in a variety of soy sauce. There was nothing about it that screamed fried rice as it was missing the veggies and the crunch I am accustomed to. For both meals and one drink, lunch cost us $16, so not bad! Overall, Peking Garden is a solid spot for Americanized Chinese food at a good price. I currently have a neighborhood favorite for fast service Chinese, but they do not offer dine in, so I think I found the niche that PG will fit into when the craving for Sesame Chicken hits! read more

The soup needed to be little spicier and more flavor with more meat & tofu . Will I go back ! Maybe ! So pleased to see this unique building is still a traditional Chinese American restaurant since 1975. On a mild overcast autumn Friday evening, there was a steady flow of patrons. My niece and I enjoyed a dish of fluffy Shrimp Egg Fu Young and a tasty Mongolian Beef at the restaurant her grandfather started. Not sure how long the current owner has been running this restaurant, but the simple formula of quality comfort food with friendly service continues to draw regulars at a reasonable price. Terrible! Ordered a simple combination of sweet and sour chicken. The rice was plain fried rice with no vegetables or option of pork. I have been with this place for over 20 years. Never had a bad experience. I can call in and they will know my order. They always ask about my family. In the fall we hose exchange students, they will ask about them and speak the language if they are Asians. Once the delivery guy, took my middle eastern student out to a game. Chinese food in ATL is really hard - most of is it just awful. Wing shops that have some chinese food. This place is an old school inexpensive "Gringo Chinese" eatery. Here is he lowdown: hot and sour soup was spicy but not balanced. Egg rolls are filled with shredded cabbage , tasteless and soggy. The beef and broccoli was very bland excluding the ridiculous amount of salt and the low mein tasted exactly like the beef and broccoli with three pieces of brocolli in the whole dish the rest was just noodles. I really love this place and have eaten here and ordered takeout quite a few times. However, 4 stars because sometime's it's fantastic and worth five stars, and sometimes just average and worth 3 stars. I think the place is better if you eat-in versus takeout.
