Yelpers led me wrong this time or I just ordered wrong. We ordered via DoorDash the General Tso's chicken with fried rice and the rice noodles with shrimp. It's not good at all. This is the weakest fried rice I've ever had, the chicken is hard to chew like gristle and jerky. The rice noodles taste the best but it has a slightly burnt aftertaste. Came in today (Wednesday Aug 6, 2025 around 12:30pm) for lunch. Place is nicely laid out with large booths with ample room, better than most set ups. We were seated immediately though they were moderately busy. Eclectic blend of clientele which usually shows it's a popular place. Our server greeted us quickly and we ordered right away. I was with a friend and she ordered the "triple delight " which was beef, shrimp and chicken with some mixed vegetables such as broccoli and scallops, the lunch menu orders come with white rice and egg drop or hot and sour soup. Her entree had good flavor, I especially liked the shrimp and beef, the chicken was large and kind of gummy but the flavor was good. I ordered the kung pao chicken. I really liked the flavor (very spicy with lots of red hot peppers but they were big enough to pick around if you don't like too much pepper). Like I said the flavor was delicious and it was definitely kung pao, and I don't have a complaint but just a warning it's very starchy and you will walk away not being able to kiss someone for a while, the kung pao sauce is very thick and highly seasoned, but if you like kung pao you'll enjoy this. The egg drop soup and vegetable spring rolls are very good. For a lunch menu you get quite a large portion of food so you definitely won't starve, but be prepared to be ready for a nap when you get back to work. Service was fast and professional, though the server didn't speak English very well but she tried and she was very nice and polite and patient. I've stopped in to order to go fit lunch but have not eaten inside. There is a nice little bar area to wait for your food. I've only had the Mongolian beef and chicken lunch special but plan to dine in for their traditional Sichuan dishes. While the sauce flavor was good, overall the dish has way too much onion. If it weren't for the excessive onions, I'd say the lunch portion was a good size. The egg drop soup and hot and sour are really good. The food here is absolutely delicious and comes out pretty quick! We got the calamari and soup dumplings and soup as appetizers. I got the hot and sour soup and I thought it was really good! Soup dumplings were also yummy, but nothing too special. The calamari was very flavorful but a little too salty for me. Definitely need to eat with rice. For our main course we got a cumin lamb. It was so good! I have no complaints. The portions are very generous and they gave plenty of rice. I recommend asking for the chili oil for a yummy flavor enhancer. Also alcoholic drinks here are ridiculously cheap. Servers are very nice, it's a very nice clean place. This is hands down the best Chinese restaurant I've had in Georgia. We used to live about a 30-minute drive away and still came almost every week. The owner and servers are always super warm and friendly, and they even remember our usual order every time. Their Mao Xue Wang is the most authentic I've had in the U.S.--rich, bold, and absolutely perfect. And the portion sizes are HUGE, definitely great value for the price. The Chongqing spicy chicken, yu-xiang shredded pork, and Zhu Ta Fish (竹塔鱼) are all amazing as well. We've moved to California now, but we still miss this place so much. On this trip back to Georgia, we made a special stop just to eat here again, and everything was just as delicious as we remembered. Highly recommend! read more

The bok choy, fabulous! 2 days ago, A man from the kitchen, not our server, was wearing an open jacket delivered our fresh food to our table leaning over to the space in the back of the table his open jacket was in the food at the front of the table! MR says... dandan noodles is a must have and mapo tofu MRS says ... we come here so often that they know to seat us in a bigger table. We tend to order a lot of dishes and here are our favorites: - chongquin chicken - bamboo fish (spicy or no spice/numbing pepper for kids) - crispy beef (spicy or no spice/numbing pepper for kids) - dry pot chicken - steamed bao (chicken) - soup dumplings (chicken) - spicy boiled fish fillet - peanuts in black vinegar - scallion pancake - cold noodle - tofu skin - green beans - dry fried eggplant - mixed veggies (we add tofu) - shrimp in lobster sauce A Yelper mentioned about 'water' and yes, there are times water refills are hard to come by but all you got to do is flagged them and they'll fill up your glass. Service is good. I think we're biased since we're regulars. Food is good though there are days the portions are a bit skimp. Today I saw that WEI restaurant was in my route. I been wanting to visit the one in Atlanta. But i just haven't had the chance. So, immediately I had to look at they're menu. The Yelp pics and the fact that they have Wood Ear mushrooms, was enough for me to stop. Coming into the restaurant, WEI is a small and quaint establishment with soft lighting. After being seated with good customer, I chose to have the Egg Drop soup for starter and of course the Wood Ear salad. And OMG, WEI did not disappoint. The flavors of the salad was delicious and full of flavors. Thinking about eating mushrooms, you would automatically think boring and flavorless. OH NOOO! Not this dish. I highly recommend. The Egg Drop Soup was delicious as well. Egg Drop soup has always been my favorite sense middle school days. Skipping last class to go to our favorite restaurant before the head chef left for the day. Of course we was regulars and got the biggest bowl they had. With that being said, I'm funny when it comes down to this soup. WEI make theirs with mushrooms, carrots and peas. This was a little different. I had it with carrots but nothing else. I can say I will get it again. The mushrooms made the soup seem hearty. Which this was something I needed. For my main dish, I decided to have it to go. From the pics the Sichuan boiled fish looked and sounding so good. Now, I have one Con about this dish. The amount of cilantro oil was wayy to much for me. I had to roll up some paper towels to absorbs the oil from the top of the dish. After trying to eat it before, I was burping up grease constantly. But after removing the oil, I devoured the whole thing. The spice of the dish will have your nose going. And I loved it. The flavors was on point. And yes I would get it again. The food at WEI was pretty good. The speed of service was also very quick. And the prices are reasonable. I liked the Mongolian Beef, Mapo Tofu, Sichuan Chili Wontons, and Soup Dumpings. Beware that the soup dumplings take a little longer to prepare. But our server was kind enough to let us know when we ordered. The parking spots can be a little tight though. One issue we came across on this visit was that my wife and I were deciding on a place to eat. And while checking on Yelp for reviews, my wife noticed a Yelp deal at WEI. So we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, when it came time to pay, they would not honor the deal. So that was pretty disappointing to us. read more

We tried different proteins, from the flounder to the chicken and the beef and they were all excellent choices. The bok choy was a great accompaniment. I thought the portions were a good size. First, the food was great, and the portions were insane. Absolutely do family style and share with friends. The wood ear mushroom app was awesome. But, the table was sticky, the wine was sour/bad (they replaced it NO PROBLEM), the bathrooms could use some work. One very odd and really rude situation, they started shutting down and cleaning 45 min early while people were still ordering. They flipped over the chairs on the tables, mopped the floors around our feet. Just set the whole experience down a couple stars. read more

We had gotten the soup dumplings from here before and really liked them but this was the first time actually eating at the restaurant. We opted to sit outside since the weather was nice. We visited on a Sunday around noon and it wasn't very busy. The food was excellent, some of the best fried rice that I've had in Atlanta and the Mongolian beef had a sweet smoky flavor to it that also made it one of the best Mongolian beefs in the area. The cucumber salad was crisp, garlicky and just spicy enough to satisfy those used to spice. If you're spice intolerant it might be just a tad too spicy for you. It also is soy sauce based so different than the cucumbers at Din Tai Fung although just as delicious. The soup dumplings are very good imo, again not the quality of Din Tai Fung but good enough to satisfy a craving. They serve them with a black vinegar but no ginger. None of the soup dumplings broke before eating which was a plus. Highly recommend giving this place a shot for some really good food. read more

Omg! Finally found another AUTHENTIC Sichuan restaurant in Cobb county. A short drive from The Battery, I arrived at this authentic Szechuan heaven. We got the: (1) 水煮鱼 fish fillet boiled in hot oil with cabbage and bean sprouts. A forever must try in all Szechuan restaurants and definitely a staple here. The fish is soft and tender, flavorful and spicy. (2) Chicken in Black Bean Sauce: very flavorful. Chicken is lightly coated with flour so it's extremely tender. Nice texture contrast with the bell pepper and cabbages. (3) 生煎包 pork bao steamed then pan fried crispy golden: yummy! Freshly made in house. Juicy filling with a great bread to meat ratio. You can definitely taste the freshness that only can be delivered with in-house production. (4) 南瓜饼 pumpkin pancake with mochi sweet red bean filling. !!!! Another yummy gem that's freshly made in house. I was frankly so impressed by this dish as it is almost always mediocre. However, this one RIGHT HERE! I can single handedly eat 2-3 orders. Clean environment with fast service. A full bar with easy parking. Staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. I will DEF be back and bring many others to this gem. read more

So today, I decided I wanted to get some Wei and I ordered the triple delight lunch special with a drop soup and fried rice. I've had this several times a walk in and the place is clean, but I just feel like it's bare like the ambience is not there so if you're going there for the ambience is not going it's not gonna overwhelm you is not going. It's the bare minimum because there is no ambience. It's just a restaurant with walls and chairs and tables. The service is always good. Food comes out fast. You know I literally stay less than five minutes away and by the time I get there, my food is already ready. This day on particular could've just been a off day because the sauce for the triple delight was watery and I just wasn't feeling it but then the rice normally their fried rice is good fresh dish fried rice tasted old. The egg drop soup normally is the best in the city. The same way there wonton soup is the best that I've ever had and I'm a well-known traveler and when I tell you, they wonton soup and the egg drop soup is top-tier nobody that I know of or I've been to even five star restaurants is touching their wonton soup or egg drop soup. But like I say today was a awful day because the soup was just OK. I don't know if everything was like old or what but it just didn't wasn't getting the flavor that I normally get from the egg drop soup. The fried rice seem old didn't even smell fresh and then the sauce for the triple the light was watery don't give me wrong the meat, the beef, chicken and shrimp and vegetables cooked perfectly. The meat was velvety. You know it's like they quoted and then you know I'm saying whatever they do. I know it is called, but I can't think of the word, but when I say the meats and vegetables was cooked perfectly, it was cooked perfectly like always. It was just that sauce was watery and lacking. Well I give it another chance. Yes because I do really love their wonton soup and their egg drop soup and I really like the triple delight because the meat you know it's like a velvet you know seeing the fried real quick you know what I'm saying so I'll try it again. May just have to come earlier and it was about almost 2 o'clock when I picked it up no matter fact, I'm wrong. It was like 1:30 PM when I went to pick it up. So I shouldn't have been no reason for it just to taste old, but give it a try and let me know what you think. read more

YELP asked if I tried WEI recently. I have eaten there a few times, but it's been a while. I was new to Szechuan then. I didn't understand about spice levels. I need to go back. I can say the soup dumplings are excellent. I loved dry stir fried beef. I've become a big fan of dan dan noodles, so that's on my must try list. I can also say the quality is commendable.
