The first time I ordered from this restaurant everything was excellent. I ordered the chicken with the black bean sauce and fried rice. I could not have been any happier. The second time I ordered from them the food was horrible. It's like playing Russian roulette when you order meals to be delivered. They're not consistently good. I am now older and disabled and I depend upon grocery delivery and sometimes meal delivery. Living in Miami it's very very stressful and is usually something wrong with the orders. My order is always neatly and conveniently packed and served with a friendly smile by the kind owners. I've gone to this restaurant 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Since moving here last August it's been very hard for me to find Chinese food. Little did I know the best Chinese food was right up the street from my house. The food reminds me of the Chinese food back home in North Carolina. Sometimes I just order just to feel that nostalgia as I haven't been home in a year. First time I ordered I got the general tso and my wife ordered the wings. The general tso was amazing but after tasting the wings I now only order the wings. Literally the best wings I've ever had in my life. They are so crispy and the flavor is perfect. They give you good portion sizes too. I was eating wings and rice for 3 days! The lunch special is amazing as well as their dinner portions. Customer service 10/10 the lady who I believe is the owner is so sweet. She even told me to never order online as they add a service charge. She said to ALWAYS just call in your order to avoid the charge. read more

Unfortunately this used to be one of favorite places till they started not caring about the Customer I made an order for delivery and the driver apparently tried to call when I specifically state on my deliveries to text me and then the driver did not bother to get out the car and do a contactless deliver toy apt. Restaurant refused to do it's delivery and blamed grub hub for delivery not made and that I had to go pick up the food. I called grub hub they stated that restaurant does it's own deliveries so they lied to me. The restaurant called me again and lied to me again that we are too far for delivery. This is undoubtedly the best Chinese restaurant in Miami Lakes area. Located in the Palm Lake Plaza, I was tipped off by a Chinese newspaper about this New York style Chinese restaurant, and this restaurant is definitely a hole in a wall, authentic Chinese restaurant. The restaurant does most of its business through take-out and delivery. They only have three tables, each sitting 2 people, in their establishment so don't plan on coming with a big group. As for the food, I was tempted to order from the regular menu as the lunch specials in most Chinese establishments tend to be sub-par in quality. Not only that, but the lunch menu also tends to lean Chinese-American. However, I was on a budget and also buying a friend of mine some lunch, so I had to order from the lunch menu and I was blown away by how fantastic the food tasted. The portions were more than plenty for the price and the food was simmering with flavor. I had ordered the roast pork egg foo young and the pepper steak. They both came with pork fried rice and soup (I had chosen wonton). Even the rice was yummy and the egg foo young was the best I've ever had in a very long while. They took a while making the food, so I'm sure that this Chinese family-owned establishment makes everything fresh. I would definitely come back for more, and I'm willing to order from the regular menu as well. read more

Edit 8:14/15: Went there recently when i visited the neighborhood and i must admit their food have gone down in quality. Not even close as to when i lived in the area. The fried rice was too oily and tasteless. The fried chicken wasn't even decent. I guess they localized and are no longer "NYC style Chinese food" as once claimed. I noticed most people in Miami dont know anything about NY style chinese food & Restaurant. Most of them up there are to take out. Few of them have tables. Having lived in NY most of my life i can tell you this is the best Chi. Restaurant in Miami, at least that I've tried. It reminds me when i lived up there. If you want to eat in a fancy Asian place then go to PF Chang's, you'll be greeted and seated. But If you wanna eat good & cheap chinese food AT home this is the one to have. Where should I start? From the moment I walked in the place I got greeted by one of the owners. She was extremely sweet and hospitable, which led to a positive infectious experience. I ordered the lunch special chicken wings and pork fried rice. I've been living in SoFlo for nearly two years and this was the best chinese food I've had in my time living down here! I'm from NY and if I closed my eyes I felt like I was back home up North eating those chicken wings and pork fried rice. The entree was filled with flavor and love. I agree with JD N. This place is a hole in a wall but the food is the best I have tasted since I have moved down to Miami. I am originally from the NJ/NY and the Chinese food was always good. The Chinese food in Florida just didn't hit the spot. Then I found the New Hong Kong...WOW! It's like being back in my favorite restaurant in NJ. The wonton is the best I have ever had, the BBQ chicken wings and the garlic honey boneless ribs are delicious. The rice is the perfect texture and the dumplings make the mouth water. A couple weeks ago I was really jonesing for some good chinese food, but sadly my regular go-to chinese place that has been around since I was a baby has gone down hill in terms of quality. However, I still wanted chinese so I jumped on Yelp and looked up some places around my area and New Hong Kong came up. The reviews were scarce, but pretty decent so I took a chance and man am I glad I did! I got the orange chicken lunch special. It comes with a generous portion of orange chicken, special fried rice and soup for barely $8. You can't beat that price. The smell was so overwhelmingly delicious that I sped all the way home so I could rip into this awesome looking meal. The orange chicken was so freaking delicious. The sauce was perfectly sticky and bursting with subtle orange flavors. The chicken itself was crisp on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. The special fried rice is not as wet as the special fried rice from other places, but it's delicious. The egg drop soup (which can be easily bland) was very rich and flavorful. I recommended this place to my parents and the first time they tried it, they LOVED it. Its only been about 2 weeks and they've already ordered from them 3 times. They say their pork is the best. This is a very small place in a cheap looking plaza, but trust me it's spot on! Please give it a try. Both times I have been, the 2 guys working there have been super sweet. They are very good at listening to your order no matter how long it is and they will answer any questions you have. This place has been getting worse and worse. They never deliver your whole order, and tell you that they'll take care of you next time, then they never do. The last time we ordered, the food was cold, wrong, and not all there, but they wouldn't bring the missing food and still made us pay for it. Worse Chinese food ever. I came here based on the reviews. I am guessing the positive reviews are from those that have never had real good Chinese food. I would never recommend this please. Save your money people. I had a simple special fried rice and honey chicken. I have no idea what the sauce was that was meant for the honey chicken, but it had to be the worse sauce ever. I wish I would have seen the year in which these two reviews were written. I've got to say that this is was the WORST chinese food I have ever eaten in my entire life. I've eaten in many chinese restaurants around Miami and I would say maybe 1 or 2 are good however this tops the list of the worst. The service was horrible and part of my order was wrong. I asked for the fried wontons with the cream cheese filling and they gave me friend wontons with some strange brown meat that did not taste very good. I couldn't tell if it was beef or beefs tongue truly disgusting, and as far as the rice goes it was bland without any flavor and had nothing whatsoever no chicken, no egg, no shrimp, nothing and it was suppose to be the special fried rice. Ok so I found this place via yelp. As soon as I walked in I realized it was a take out place. I decided to sit at the one table they had. I ordered the honey garlic chicken which was very good. We also ordered the almond chicken, both lunches. Very large portions and it tasted fresh. The food was piping hot and so was the place. I bring the stars down because I dislike eating in the heat, and they only had plastic wear and no cups to drink out of. This place is the BOMB!!! We order at least once a week. The crab sticks are perfect. The rice is always soft. The chicken wings don't taste like it has been dipped in old oil. Definitely the best Chinese food. Also, delivery is fast. Very good place to order out dinner for cheap. read more
