50 years in the making this Italian joint looks and feels right out of the 1960s. Old school menu with 1990 prices. You will not starve from anything you order. Everyone has garlic knots on tables that look and smell amazing. However, they're a little hard due to probably being the oven longer and using the same pizza dough. We started with a white pizza that generally was good. Ricotta was smothered then topped with mozzarella. No garlic, oregano or EVOO so it seemed little too careless what could have been stellar pie. Meatballs were huge covered in red sauce and were nicely seasoned. Pastas were a little under-seasoned, huge portions that pooled water. Could have been a drained more carefully or sauces thicker. A few more teaspoons of parsley or a bit of fresh grated Parmesan would have elevated them. Veal Parm entree on the menu was crispy but smothered with mozzarella. It was a generous portion but it would have been great to get more of the contrasted breaded texture. Mussels seemed older than necessary and had a strong aroma. Asiago Gnocchi was a huge predominantly white plate filled with probably 24-30 dumplings. Drink menu had a lot of creative cocktails. Prices were very reasonable and the place gets busy with groups and families. Service was great and quick and the old timers made you feel at home. read more

The prices on the menu are deceiving. Everything is way more expensive. The tiramisu is $12.00 a piece and the portions are small. Stay away from the lentils soup. I can't believe they have 4 stars. Came here on a date because it is such a cute spot that we saw from the outside. We got a pizza which was $23 plus $2 for a topping and straight up cardboard. For that price I was expecting at least decent pizza. The most chewy pizza I have ever had. I've tried countless of pizzas, is hard to mess it up. But they did...badly. The garlic breads? Horrible. Hard. I left so disappointed with this place. I really wanted it to be good because it seems like a mom and pop shop but it was way too hard to look past it. Charging such a high price would be acceptable if the food matched it. Otherwise it is too close to a robbery. Olive garden and even Dominoes would be a better choice. read more

Absolutely fantastic here! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu honestly. The garlic rolls are addictive and those alone could keep me coming back here. Good thing everything is just as delicious! I love the chicken parm and the chicken scaloppini. My chicken on the scaloppini was a little dry but the sauce made up for it. Coming here for decades. Now for the last time. Unfortunately the food quality has gone downhill while the prices have continued to go up. Their $10 house salad should be $5.00 and that is too much for what is given. Most of their pasta dishes are $20+. This used to be an affordable Italian restaurant but now they seem to be charging for what better quality restauants are charging. On my recent visit, the same male server who has been stellar before was terrible. He left us waiting at our table for water and drink refills, getting the food out on time and not letting it sit in the back (Yes, we know the difference) and finally getting the check. He really messed up, good. If we are going to spend the kind of money that is being charged here, I think we will go elsewhere. Sorry Dipiazza. All the family memories here are done. read more

My wife and I have eaten here several times a month since they opened in 1975. We love it! My wife is Italian, and her grandmother (a phenomenal cook, BTW) would only eat out at this Italian restaurant. Personally, I have eaten just about everything on the menu, from their seafood combo, snapper francaise, eggplant Parmesan, to a simple spaghetti and meat sauce! And everything you hear about the garlic rolls is true! The staff is great. The owner frequently stops by our table and sits and talks for a while. Our regular waitress, Gabby, is like a daughter to us. She's also the bartender for their new bar area, so you will get a solid drink. Prior to Gabby, we had a waitress named Nixa, who invited us to her wedding. Unfortunately we lost her to cancer. But I guess you can understand how attached we are to this restaurant, primarily for the food, but for the family feeling we get. I am extremely disappointed in this place I've been here a number of times and the food has been excellent. This time they made a very understandable mistake by giving me extra sauce instead of light sauce as I requested. Instead of replacing the pie, they simply offered a nine dollar refund and this was after considerable haggling with a very flustered server that was afraid of her manager because it seems he is a bit of a tyrant about doing anything for customers if they fall short of the mark. Having been raised in the restaurant business I was very surprised that this establishment would rather give me a discount on food that I never ate and didn't eat, instead of making good on the food that they do provide to make sure I come back again. Which, by the way, I will not. What is the Takeaway? If your food is cooked the way you asked for it, and it usually is, you'll be very happy as I have been in the past! I placed an order over the phone, all went very smoothly. I arrived and it was ready for me as they said it would be, ie 15 minutes. Polite sweet and friendly service. I ordered their spaghetti carbonara which was a generous size and tasted authentic. It also came with free garlic rolls which is a nice touch. However there was not any cutlery or serviettes, and I had planned to eat in my car (covid people, covid people...lololo) luckily I had some spare forks n serviettes in my car. Hey how ya doin ova there? So today marks the first day that Miami Dade county allows dining in restaurants and I decided to celebrate it by supporting a hometown HIaleah legend. Sure it's located next to that chain place but hey In times like this you have to support the family. When I came in masked up, my waitress sat me at a properly socially distanced table in line with floor markings. They still have the wall photos, Italian music and red checkerboard curtains and they still have free soda refills. My soup tonight was their lentil, and this one was a winner. It was seasoned with a good dash of oregano, greens and lots of beans. The chicken parm was a sizeable steak, lightly breaded and with a hearty marinara sauce. Family owned for over 50 years. It was great.. we stared off with fried calamari and zucchini accompanied my their famous garlic rolls..I had my favorite Fiocchi & pear in a cheese cream sauce, to die for. We tried this restaurant due to the One Bite Reviews by Barstool/ We got there right when the restaurant open so they were able to sit us no problem. Our waitress was amazing she was very patient with our 2 year old. The garlic knots was the first thing that we ordered and they we amazing. The were soft but crispy on the inside and the sauce that came with our was amazing as well. The cheese pizza was out of this world. The sauce and cheese was great. The crust and under carriage were crispy. My dad tried the egg plant pasta and he said it was the best he ever had. I guess that's why they are know for it. The inside and environment of the restaurant really gives off the family vibe and makes you feel comfortable. DiPiazza has been around for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Hialeah and would dine there with family and, as I got older, with friends. I can say that they are always consistent. Though I haven't lived in Hialeah for over 35 yrs, it's nice to see that at least SOME things don't change. Thing that brings me back to my childhood. Heck, not much is around from back then. The food is good, the pizza is on point as well. The garlic rolls are delish and you will taste them for days on end! Had Tiramisu this last visit and it was meh. That was my only disappointment.
