It is a shame that this is the only Bandai store in the area because the employees are extremely rude and dismissive. I've went here multiple times and each time one or more of the employees have been rude towards me and have made snarky remarks. If your life sucks figure it out instead of taking it out on customers. I've said this before and I'll say it again, don't work customer service if you cannot be nice towards others! Other than that, the store has a good selection of merchandise. Such a shame the experience is ruined by rude people. read more

Short review since we only come here for the gashapon machines. I really like coming here. Get some anime gashapon, but it's hard to get some of the ones you like since they're out of stock. I really wish they would stock up more on the popular items. Things are getting a little pricey. $15 for five tokens, and most gashapon are two or three tokens. A lot of the gashapon are anime, sanrio, animals, even food. The last time we were there, they even had little Nikes! The only downside is that it gets pretty warm in there. Especially when the place is packed, it gets really hot. Hopefully they'll think about adding air conditioning or at least fans soon. read more

Feb 01, 2026 I visited the Bandai Gashapon earlier today and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with one of the staff members. The employee with black hair and glasses came across as rude toward another customer, speaking in a condescending manner and appearing to assume the customer was a scalper. Watching this interaction felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. When other customers tried to ask questions, the same staff member was dismissive and rolled his eyes a few times, which made the overall atmosphere feel unwelcoming. A store like this should feel fun and inviting, especially for collectors and fans who are genuinely excited to be there. That said, I want to be clear that I do like this store overall and have had positive experiences with other staff members in the past, who have always been friendly and helpful. This particular interaction stood out in an unfortunate way and left me feeling disappointed. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration and addresses the situation, because this type of behavior is not okay and takes away from what should be a positive experience. read more

I'm a gatcha fiend and love looking at these gatcha machines. Yes they are a little more expensive than if you do them in Japan but going to Japan is expensive and time consuming so I'm okay that there is a small selection here. I did get a Haikyuu keychain for like $4 USD and I was happy with it! There is also a good selection of figurines, gundams, and trading cards here! It also looks like they play some games or tournaments here which seems really fun! read more

I don't recall what was in this area of Mitsuwa Market before it became the Gashapon, but it's neat that they have this larger area, similar to the other Mitsuwa that I've been to (but much larger). This space has a couple rows of Gachapon machines, token machines that you can use at every location that has the Bandai Gachapon machines (not just at this location, but wherever you can find them - ShibuyaLA, the Tokyo Anime Center in Jtown, the one in Little Tokyo, and much more). They also sell model kits here (not just Gundam, but Poke'mon, YGO, Digimon, and other random things like dinosaurs, neat!), Tamashii Nations figurines, and the One Piece trading card game with a space for people to play too. There's also some small "shelves" where you can do little photoshoots with your recent Gachapon winnings. There were a couple of machines that were sold out (Pickles the Frog), some Sanrio ones, etc. The variety is a little bit different from what I've seen at other Gachapon areas, meaning that there's more reptiles, amphibians, and insect poseable figurines than the standard anime ones that are super repeated everywhere (though they did have those here too). I think the only thing that was lacking was the Chiikawa machines, but other than that, it wasn't crowded on a Tuesday evening and neat to see. read more

They have a nice selection with duplicate machines. I wish they had a wider selection of options for the gashapon. The main complaint I have is that it's expensive. $8 for the one piece kungfu dugong. There is more blindboxes available past the machines to the left of the register. They also have trading cards available and a large space with many tables. read more

Not sure why people are saying this place closed because it's open now. I do recall it being an empty space about a year ago. You can buy toys from the vending machine or pick one up from the shelves. A lot of the vending machines, particularly the Sanrio ones are empty. They should do a better job refilling the popular machines. Staff hosts free card game instruction at allotted times. So you can learn something new while mom grocery shops. Toys are on par with what you pay for in Japantown. read more

Fun place to get your gacha itch scratched. A bit pricy, but depending on your franchise and what is offering, the worth will vary.

Medium sized Gashapon shop located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace, to the right when you first walk in (and they currently have a JoJo merch pop up!) There's a lot of duplicate machines. But I found a gacha that went out of stock about a year ago at LA's Little Tokyo Gashapon shop, so that was lucky since I missed out on it the first time around. Tokens are $2, each machine is ranges from 2 to 4 tokens each, and they have a $20 minimum when paying for tokens with card. read more

Crazy Exorbitant prices! One gatchapon was $27! And you're already committed to the tokens when you find out it takes 9 to get the one your kid wants. It's effing insane and shady! Speaking of shady, the token machine doesn't return change and charged me double with the credit card transaction. I'm embarrassed that Mitsuwa allows this among their businesses. Good selection of nick-nacks. Prices are decent but many of the machines were empty and things are about Twice of what they are in Japan. I want to take my cousins to this next time and see if they enjoy it more than I did. I also couldnt find the recycling for the capsules.. Hoping they impliment that to save plastic read more

It's back! It's way more expensive than the same gashapon in Japan (but you don't need to buy a plane ticket). The machines work and there is pretty good variety. Worth checking out! read more

Very expensive but it's as good as it gets here! These seem to also sell older versions that are no longer in play in Japan so it's super helpful if you're trying to something that's otherwise out of stock from Japan :) read more
