I set myself up for a letdown, not expecting his office staff to be as "warm and fuzzy" as what I've experienced in the past. Well.... they exceeded it! Not only were they super sweet to my wife & kids, they were extremely professional and upfront on what the costs of the ongoing work we would be having (no hidden costs or surprises). The office is outfitted with the most up-to-date dental technology. Dr Clenton was nice however this is a very profit only driven dentist. After receiving my fillings in August (after consulting with two other dentists and narrowing down which ones I actually needed to get done) I was leaving to check out when I felt that the side of my face they were done on was a little higher so I asked the hygienist to bring me back. She scoffed, rolled her eyes, then went back and asked, they asked me twice if I could reschedule and come back to have it fixed. At the time I worked for a doctors office so no, I couldn't come back, and also waiting would have potentially messed up my jaw alignment. Got it fixed but it felt rushed. I no longer have coverage for them, and now I drive almost 2 hours to my dentist I've had my entire life just paid out of pocket for a cleaning simply because they're ethical and care about their patients, not just their wallets. I care to preserve my natural teeth. Don't come here.

I told the…read moredental hygienist who was kind and reassuring that I would feel "no pain" yet didn't do much to accommodate my anxiety when I asked her about nitrous or other forms of anxiety relief. She stated that the room where nitrous was available was "busy" and it would cost "$175 extra" anyway. They gave me numbing gel and several shots of Novocain but the drilling was still very painful for my two molar fillings. Rather than try to accommodate me, they said, "you'll just have to go to someone who can sedate you" and dismissed me with a name and number on a post it note. I felt like it was my fault that I was having pain on top of anxiety from the filling. She was behind (I had to wait 30 minutes despite being on time) so maybe that's why. I would not recommend her if you want a caring and gentle dentist. Lots of other dentists in Athens to choose from. I'd steer clear of Dr. Bennett.

I generally have anxiety going to the dentist but Dr. Allen eased my fear and explained thoroughly what procedures needed to be done and why.
