The assistant that helped me this morning was Miracle. She is wonderful!! I had lost a crown that had been put in by a different dentist office just last December. Due to changes in insurance by my previous dentist, I had to change dental practices. Miracle cleaned the crown, did x-rays and got me ready for Dr. Praschad, who was also great! Both of these individuals were very professional, efficient, informative and helpful. They worked well together. The office "fit me in" and my wait time was zero, once I got there. I was finished and out within an hour with my crown re-cemented, after Dr. Praschad determined that was the appropriate course of action. I am very positively impressed with Timothy Road Dental Care. Had to come here back in July of last year due to my insurance changing. Went here a total of 3 times, once for a routine cleaning, then fillings, and then a limited exam. Dr Clenton was nice however this is a very profit only driven dentist. After receiving my fillings in August (after consulting with two other dentists and narrowing down which ones I actually needed to get done) I was leaving to check out when I felt that the side of my face they were done on was a little higher so I asked the hygienist to bring me back. She scoffed, rolled her eyes, then went back and asked, they asked me twice if I could reschedule and come back to have it fixed. At the time I worked for a doctors office so no, I couldn't come back, and also waiting would have potentially messed up my jaw alignment. Got it fixed but it felt rushed. I no longer have coverage for them, and now I drive almost 2 hours to my dentist I've had my entire life just paid out of pocket for a cleaning simply because they're ethical and care about their patients, not just their wallets. I'm not going to comment on the medical expertise of the Dentists or the hygienist. I will comment on the way the business end works. They once filed a collection on me that my agent said insurance would have paid. They just never submitted it. Took awhile to clear that up. Went in this morning to remove part of a tooth that broke. They spent 20 minutes talking about future billing and never looked in my mouth, then I was charged 62.00 for an exam. They charge you up front then you have to wait for your insurance to reimburse you.I wish them well but I'll take my business and my teeth somewhere else. I'm not going to comment on the hell they put my wife though. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, my mistake. read more

Stay away! I made an appointment for a teeth cleaning. The hygienist started out with full mouth xrays and then did a panoramic xray. Then she started checking gum spaces. The dentist came in to check for necessary work to be done. First thing out of his mouth.."how do you feel about the front six upper teeth?" I have mostly crowns. "Well I am kinda attached to them and am not interested in replacing them!" They were seated in 1980 and you can see the metal margins if you pull my lip up! Nothing is visible in normal life. Sure, I have an extra $9000 lying around looking for a home! Then he asks hygienist if she has time to clean my teeth. No, sorry, she will have to make another appointment. I was fuming inside. As I walked out the door, my thoughts were NEVER coming back here. Then I realized that I had to come back because another new dentist (to me) is going to want x-rays and now I just used my dental benefits with my insurance!! So I would have had to pay out of pocket. So avoid these crooks like Covid! read more

In the course of shopping around for a COMPETENT dental practice, I was invariably asked; "From which practice did you previously use"? When I responded Timothy Road Dental, there was either a loud laugh OR "I'm not surprised!" Speaks volumes.... (Oh yes-another BOGUS practice at TRD is to "Save the tooth at all costs" which usually translates into the highest financial return for them. Requesting to have a tooth extracted from TRD requires FIRM insistence as witnessed by a friend I referred to TRD- BAD MISTAKE!) One of the front office staff harangued me about "free" services. To clarify,by "free" I meant services that are 100% covered by your insurance with NO OUT OF POCKET fees. I was categorically told my LAST SERVICE AT TRD was 100% covered by insurance-NOT! It as $147- half by insurance half out of my pocket! Regarding being called INCOMPETENT and SURLEY-if the shoe fits WEAR IT! Touch grass-LOL! And there are LOTS of free things in life-LOL! I have had some bad experiences in the past and had a TON of anxiety. Dr. Clanton and her staff were AMAZING! I literally felt NO PAIN. It took 3 months to get an appointment with them. Everyone was very nice and friendly. They took what felt like a hundred X-rays of my teeth. I appreciate the effort and in depth exam, but I was in the office for nearly two hours just for what was to be a routine cleaning. I waited for over 30 minutes after my cleaning for the dentist to arrive. Of course there was recommendation for further treatment including Invisalign which would cost more money. I was late to work because of the extended amount of time I was there. I was hoping to establish my care here as it was closer to home, but looks like I'll be going back to my former dentist further away as visits are considerably shorter and I'm not trying to be uncharged for more treatment. read more

Went in after waiting a month for an appointment for a cleaning. My last dentist recommended I have a deep cleaning that was done 8 months before my appointment. I did not inform them of this . They discussed people not having their cleanings regular because of the pandemic. Upon my arrival I was given X-rays and informed I needed a deep cleaning . After explaining this was done recently they refused to clean my teeth. No one was able to show me on X-ray why this was necessary . In my option this is a scam , they are using the pandemic as a reason to force this expensive service on patients which is in excess of $1000.00 even with good dental insurance. The doctors and staff are awesome and really care about their patient's overall health. I did need a deeper cleaning which makes sense because I rarely floss, but they explained everything and showed me the why. They never pressured me to do anything, only showed me a treatment plan showing what could be done if I wanted to save my teeth. read more

I think Dr. Kim is one of the best dentists in the Athens area. Her team is so patient and kind and professional. Nobody really likes going to the dentist. However, when you know you're going to Timothy Road Dental Care you can go with confidence. I trust her. I trust her staff. I will gladly come back and refer friends - even for complicated work. This woman refuse to clean my teeth cause her nurses (MISS AMBER) claim my BP was "stroke level" 1st off I dont have BP problems 2nd what my BP got to do with you cleaning my teeth 3rd if my bp up its because of Miss. Amber doing extra stuff & she definitely pissing me off & yall know I'm a hot head. MISS.AMBER kept calling over the walkie for the Dr to come over & to be honest it scared me the way she was carrying on, she was acting like I'm about to die while getting my teeth clean but it was ok for her to take pics of my mouth with this so call high bp she was waiting on the dr about tho. My thing is If my BP was so damn high like yall claim it was why take x-rays of my mouth if you knew you was going to deny me service & send me home???? Then too top it off I ask the Dr why they was checking my BP, that they didn't check it last time, she tried to go back & forth with me saying they did but they couldn't give me or show a reading of my BP they took in the past. But last week someone I know went for a teeth cleaning the same thing I was suppose to get done didn't even get they BP check they just clean her teeth with NO BP check & she left. So I'm trying to figure out what the problem is with cleaning my teeth no bp. if you didn't bother to check another patient before cleaning her teeth why check mine & do most! I started going here about a year ago and everything was great with Dr. Yu. He talked me into Invisalign (I was heavily sold each time I went in and by text/email) so I finally purchased it. Shortly after, I was told Dr. Yu left the practice. Since this time it has been nearly impossible to get appointments for my updated trays. Each time I call I get the run around from someone telling me they can't make Invisalign appointments and they will call back. Then I get a message saying appointments are "first come first served". What??? I paid nearly $2000 for the Invisalign and now they are not holding up their end of the deal by giving me my trays in a timely manner. This behavior is certainly not legal and I'll be reporting them to the Invisalign company. I urge you to steer clear of this place. read more
