Not because they were…read more"mistreated," but because they had some expectation about how a therapy session is "supposed to be," and that expectation lead them straight out the door of a man who could have actually helped them. Dr. Batista saved my life. I had been to about 10 doctors before I found him and each one was more full of crap than the last. They were far more concerned with comforting me than helping me heal, and their inauthenticity provided me with nothing but a funhouse mirror to bounce my humanity off of. Then they'd complain about my unwillingness to be vulnerable with them (duh) and refer me to someone else or some super intense group therapy that just continued to make things worse for me. Dr. Batista saved my life because he had no interest in coddling me or making me feel comfortable. He new that I needed to face my issues and that meant I had to get uncomfortable for a little while. He made me feel safe because I knew I could trust him to be honest with me. We didn't just talk about the problems... We talked about SOLVING the problems. Sometimes I'd get angry or frustrated because he'd challenge me, but I always ended up being grateful that he did because he forced me to think critically about how I was feeling, and that gave me to tools to eventually not need to see him or any therapist to navigate my life. What a concept! Let me tell you, if you're interested in paying someone to tell you that everything is going to be okay, someone who is going to be your "friend" or someone who quietly allows you to vent all your issues for an hour without ever putting your feet to the fire to own your issues and deal with them, go somewhere else. Dr. Batista has absolutely zero patience for that nonsense, and if there is any part of you that is enjoying the attention you're getting for your ailment, Dr. Batista will expose you to yourself. AND THAT'S A GOOD THING, because in order to heal, you've got to get over that. And if you can't, I promise you he will tell you that there is no need for you to come back to see him again. Dr. Batista doesn't give you want you want... He gives you what you NEED. If you want someone who is actually going to help you heal; Someone who is going to provide you with honest feedback and guidance; Someone who will tell you when he thinks you're full of crap, and force you back onto the road of healing.... If you actually want to get better, and you're ready to do the work, call Dr. Batista. He helped me, and he can help you too.

I recently obtained my masters in counseling and am familiar with how a counseling session SHOULD be run. and Dr. Batista does not even follow general counseling 101, it's absurd. I was wary of meeting with him from our initial phone call where he told me it sounded like I had ocd because I cut him off from talking. (Last time i checked the patient is supposed to do the talking. )Despite my reservations, I went to the first appt anyway. I asked if he was going to do a traditional intake and he responded by "ahh we will get to that later." He talked a majority of the session, a lot about other clients stories which is highly inappropriate and when he did allow me to talk, he seemed judgy and almost laughed at what was troubling me. I had one more appt with him and once again he talked the whole session about other patients stories'( Um, how do those stories relate to me?! ). I mentioned that I would like to work on my ocd and he said, "well haha I can't relate because I don't have that!" A counselor is supposed to be non-judgemental, empathetic and understanding. Dr. Batista is none of these! Just when I thought maybe we could talk about one if my many issues, he ultimately shocked me by saying, "well, I think our work here is done and you don't need to see me anymore." He never ONCE let me even talk about all the reasons I was seeking a counselor and he was dismissing me and so harshly at that. I have some pretty significant issues that i wanted to work through and he was letting me go already? How did he know I was not suicidal?! I recently had a whole class on terminating relationships with patients. The process can take weeks/months and it usually has the best interest of the patient in mind. I felt completely rejected and awful after I left that last session. The counseling from Dr. Batista did more damage to me then it was helpful. Heed my warning and seek another professional. Yes, I said "professional." Because Edward Batista is not one and should have his license revoked.

She was the worst therapist I've ever dealt with in my life...and working in the human services field, I'm not blind to the process. We asked to have another counselor and we were told someone would call us back to set it up. After no return call for two weeks, I called them, and was told they were setting us up with another therapist and would call in the next day to schedule. NEVER did get that phone call. Very poor service...went elsewhere and found someone MUCH BETTER. I would not choose Franco if there are other options out there.

She referred me to one of her colleagues, based on her knowledge of me, and I have been with her for almost a year now. My experiences with both therapists has been nothing short of incredible. I tried therapy several times throughout my life at several different offices in several different geographic areas. I never had any success or chemistry with my providers until Franco's. The therapists I have dealt with truly care and listen and give helpful feedback and useful skills. They feel like great, knowledgeable friends rather than therapists. I have always looked forward to my appointments and leave every session feeling happy, seen, heard, and relieved. I think therapy is an essential service that everyone could benefit from at one point or another. The care I've received here over the last few years has truly changed my life.

After going thru chemo and radiation and going into remission with tons of steroids and being able to eat again I gained enough weight where I gained 40 pounds and it was painstaking to see a photo of myself on my 37th Birthday. As I wrote this review I just completed my first follow up in which I am down 13 pounds almost 15 pounds in 5 weeks and I can honestly say I see this working and it's because of the staff. They all have struggled so they feel your emotional struggle and they KNOW what needs to be done. They genuinely will work with you and guide you. If you listen and stick to the plan it will work. I'm blessed and I can't believe what a difference this is making not only on my appearance but, they gave me well,me back. If you are a veteran and have been sent here for community care, beware that they are illegally…read morerequiring a card on file for "no-shows and cancelations," which is not allowed per VA policy. I informed them of this, but they insisted that it was a requirement. They told me that they have to have a card on file because the VA doesn't cover no-shows or cancelations. However, in order to become a community care provider, you are required to sign a contract where you agree to never charge the veteran, even for no-shows or cancelations. They have since been informed of this by the VA's community care department. If you are a veteran utilizing community care here and they still have your card on file, demand they remove it, as they have no reason to have it on file. It doesn't matter how reasonable you think the policy is; it's not allowed. They also seem to have started soliciting positive reviews on Google after receiving my negative one detailing this abuse.
