The next day I get a call from someone else, who was my assigned matchmaker that took no time or effort to get to know me or find out more about me or what I am looking for, and said I got the notes from the other person. I should have demanded a refund right then as the entire experience was misrepresented from the start, but I took a chance. 2 matches and 6 months later, I tried to explain to the matchmaker specifically my preferences and what I am looking for (I am 44, never married, no kids, so I need someone that wants to start/extend a family, for us to have time to get to know each other and actually do that it would be helpful if she aimed for women more in the 35-40 range). The whole point of paying these prices is personalization, and she should know her clients, and say that limits the opportunities but I will try. Instead she got very defensive that she usually tries to match people within 1 or 2 year only, and I am making her life harder. And that women can have babies until their 50 so I am wrong. I would expect a matchmaker to know according to multiple surveys, including by Zoosk, 30% of women prefer a man that is 5-9 years older. 5 months later get next match, 2-3 different matchmakers called me. The one that I spoke to assured me the match wants to have kids. 10 minutes into the $80 dinner, date assures me she made very clear to agency, no interest in kids.
