Our 1 year old daughter and almost 3 year old son have attended Primrose for 4 months now. We love…read moreit! We have been to other day cares in the Grapevine/Southlake area and Primrose is by far our favorite. The teachers and classrooms are very close knit. All the teachers are fantastic and very affectionate with my kids. My daughter's teachers know my son and vice versa. I like that the same teachers are with my kids for most of the day and that they are there when I pick my kids up. I can find out how my kids' days went directly from the source. Parents receive detailed progress reports about their child from the teachers several times a year. Each age group has their own fenced playground that is attached to their classroom. Teacher turnover is very low. We have only had one teacher leave and she was going back to college. The teachers and staff enjoy their job and it shows in everything they do. Every month, Primrose has a family appreciation day where they do something special for each family like send home fresh-baked cookies, homemade chilli and cornbread, etc. They also offer a Parent's Night Out once a month for a small charge. My son attends a computer class called Floppy's Mouse Club and exercise class called Stretch N Grow once a week for a small fee. They also offer a weekly gymnastics class. The office staff and day care director know every parent and child by name. We have had such a positive experience at Primrose Bedford and our only regret is not going there sooner!

Update: I'm knocking my review down a star. No one bothered to contact me to tell me what was…read moresupposedly discussed with the owners about their asinine policy, presumably because no discussion was held. When I emailed Primrose to ask for a refund for the day of school my son was not allowed to attend for no good reason, I received a voicemail stating no refunds are issued, and Primrose is allowed to have rules that are stricter than state requirements (even though they lie and say their rules are based "licensing" requirements in the handbook addendum, and even though their stricter rules are incredibly stupid and inconvenient to parents). Great customer service, Primrose!! There's a lot of pros to this place. My son's teachers really love the kids, and I trust them with my son. However, this place is extremely bureaucratic and unreasonably rigid with their requirements for "sick" kids, making it very hard for working parents. On one occasion, my son was sent home with a fever, and I immediately took him to the pediatrician, who said he didn't have a fever. When I told Primrose, they told me the doctors all measure temperature wrong. If that's the case, why allow kids to come back sooner with a doctor's note? Yesterday, my son was sent home early with a temperature of 100.2 - which, per the doctor, is not even a fever. Per Primrose policy, he could come back in 48 hours without a doctor's note or 24 hours with a note. I took him to the doctor this morning who said he's fine, he just has allergies. She gave me the note pictured saying he could return today as he's not contagious. But that wasn't enough. What's the point of making it easier to come back with a doctor's note if this place thinks doctors do everything wrong and ignores their recommendations?! My son is now missing picture day, and I'm stressed due to having a busy week at work and not being able to work much, for absolutely no reason. If Primrose is going to ignore my son's pediatrician after I spent money to take him to a visit, the least they could do is refund us a day's tuition. This is ridiculous.

After experiencing…read moredissatisfaction with another local Primrose, we reached out to Haley in a moment of panic regarding our daughter's care and education. She listened to our concerns and provided us with an official start date, which was a relief. From the moment we dropped off our little girl at Primrose Westlake, we felt we had returned to the nurturing environment that Primrose is known for. The teachers and directors genuinely care about the children; they're enthusiastic about their work and keep us updated on our daughter's progress. They truly go above and beyond to ensure that the kids are happy, learning in a fun atmosphere, enjoying nutritious meals, and feeling loved. When choosing a school, always trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is. Thanks to Primrose Westlake, she has blossomed into a whole new happy little girl.

This rating does not reflect the front desk staff or the wonderful teachers who cared for my son…read more The one-star review is solely due to safety and transparency concerns, specifically the owner's unwillingness to make reasonable safety improvements despite multiple incidents. In December 2023, my son fell into a fence on the playground and sustained a severe injury to his forehead. This resulted in an expensive and traumatic emergency room visit, two layers of stitches (13 total), and a permanent scar. Responsibility was placed on teachers for failing to enforce "no-run zones." This is unreasonable; the playground is small, and children need to run. I do not fault the teachers in any way. Before making the difficult decision to remove our son, we attempted to work collaboratively with the owners to improve safety. We suggested modest, common-sense measures, including padding rough stone edges. Once the state investigated and determined the playground was technically compliant with regulations, it became clear the owners were unwilling to take any additional steps. We were explicitly told, "You have a choice where to send your son to school." Since that incident, I have learned of several other playground injuries, including at least one other child who, like my son, was left with a permanent scar. Hence, this prompted my review and so parents can make informed choices. I also want to note transparency issues that further eroded trust. When communicable illnesses occurred, communication was often limited to paper signs posted near classrooms; many parents missed them. The ProCare app, designed for timely communication, was not used. This was particularly frustrating during a lice outbreak. (Lice happens; I do not blame the school for that.) However, most parents learned about it through informal parent text chains rather than official communication. Thus, when deciding where to send your child to school, I would be sure to note the playground's size, stone edges, and lack of padding. I would also ask about the owners' resistance to implementing preventive measures after serious injuries occurred.
