I'm kicking myself for not taking any pictures of the food, but trust me it's worth it! As soon as you walk into this restaurant, your greeted with an ambience fit for acute date or a catch-up session with friends. We ordered a bunch of items off the menu, including an order of the spicy shrimp and pork dumplings, the cucumber salad, the tofu option, Mongolian, beef, and chicken chow mein as well as two orders of the egg rolls. Everything was so tasty. I can't say one dish was my favorite. The drinks were large, tasty, and came quick. This place is an instant add to my "Seattle Clutch" list!

What a fun tiki bar! First time there and the place is hopping. Great selection of island themed drinks and Chinese food. The vibe was very positive and the bar staff were friendly and attentive.

Chow Mein w/chicken, dry-fried long beans, spicy shrimp and pork dumplings- all so good!

Food is awesome and fast. I don't like shrimp flavor/fishy, but love dumplings and these did not disappoint. The sauce was amazing. The green beans were chef's kiss. Chow mein was good as well. Cocktails are also incredible and served by a very friendly staff. I loved the Jungle Bird and Bartender on Acid. Ambience is on point- 11/10 on New Luck Toy!

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and delicious. My go-to order includes the beef and broccoli, honey walnut prawns (something I wouldn't normally order, but now absolutely crave), dumplings (the fresh herbs and the chili sauce are outstanding), and long beans. I also love their egg rolls. The tropical cocktails are a nice balance to the food and are always strong and delicious. The staff are attentive and friendly. The cozy, dim ambiance is perfect. Sometimes the AC is blasting so if you get cold easily like me, I recommend bringing a sweater, even in the summer. My husband and I live across town from this place so it usually takes us between 30-45 mins to get here, but it's always worth the drive. My only complaint? They're not open on Sundays! I always forget and end up craving it just when I can't have it. Otherwise, this place is a gem. Highly recommend.

*fully note that I only came here for drinks, so I can't speak for the food* Came here with my family and had a couple drinks, fun decor and ambiance. I'd like to try the honey walnut shrimp! Ordered a slushy drink which was good and a unique offering

Good vibes, decorated really well, however, food was a bit of a let down. I ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings and that was probably the best part of the meal yet they were a bit sweet. Noodles need work. Sometimes less is more. Drinks were good. I'd go back for drinks only.

Really cool atmosphere! The lighting sets a very relaxing tone for a date night or any night to enjoy a meal out. The food was amazing and they have fun drinks to pick from. It's seat yourself when you walk in and very prompt service from the staff members.

Same consistent American Chinese food served with yum drinks. Salt and Pepper Prawns were right amount of savory. I recognized my server from pre pandemic. Yeah for same staff!

    BBQ pork - must have!

    Is karaoke currently offered? 2023

Is this really permanently closed? :(

Nope! Can confirm I've eaten here in March 2022!

    Are minors allowed?

No, it's 21+ for the restaurant and the bar.

How do I reserve the karaoke room there? I can't find a phone number....

Yeah their number isn't something easy to find. I know they have one because I've seen them use it.…

    What is their phone number?

Is the karaoke bar a seperate room from the rest of the bar/restaurant?

yes - there is a separate room off the dining area for karaoke.

Is there MSG in the food? Wife is very sensitive...thanks...

Quite a bit! I just asked. Pretty much everything

The speakeasy-style entrance sets the tone right away--very prohibition-era vibes, a little mysterious, and definitely part of the charm. It's the kind of place you half expect to need a password to get into. Once inside, the ambiance really delivers. Dim lighting, cozy atmosphere, and a menu that leans into that classic cocktail culture without feeling overdone. The drinks are genuinely solid--well-crafted, balanced, and surprisingly fairly priced for the quality. What really makes this spot stand out, though, is the live jazz. If you can swing a visit on a Sunday or Monday night, do it. The music adds so much character to the space and turns a casual night out into something memorable and a little transportive. Service was a bit slow during our visit, but honestly, it made sense--there were only two people running the entire place. Even with that, they stayed friendly and composed, which says a lot. It didn't take away from the experience, just something to be aware of if you're in a rush. Overall, The Alley is a gem--great vibes, great music, and great cocktails. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for something a little different in West Seattle.

This place leans more "eating to satiate", than "eating to satisfy", no matter how hard I fight my Goblin brain. Each meal, I come to terms with the sucker I am for eating a $27 omelette before tip. Herein lies our problem dear reader. Do I want a hummus plate for $12-15, that is essentially a disassembled and then reassembled menagerie of pre-made product on a plate? Or how about a cup of some mid-gumbo for $8? As a Goblin I have eaten many old soups out of a dirty cauldron, but Mid-Gumbo tastes like how Jack Harlow must feel waking up and telling himself he got blacker. Concerning the food (and Jack Harlow), it's about more than just lack of seasoning.
