And the barmaid said You can't drink that here Started explaining the rules and regulations about not being able to bring anything into an open bar.I respect that she said you could put it in your bag in a more aggressive tone than I appreciated, but I did it anyway.I ordered, and then I said, can I get a beer? Her response was.I don't really want to, but yes, my patience at that point had run to its end, and I said, Look, we got off on the wrong foot and I don't want this to go on So we had a great day, and I left. This used to be one of my favorite places to go but it just isn't the same since they killed off the beet sandwich. That sandwich made it a great place for vegetarians--not just making a fake meat version of a meat thing but a legit good thing that happened to be vegetarian. I have visited this bar a few times and it always has a cool vibe, but overall, I am not a big fan. First the food is just ok. The burger looks delicious but consistently lacks flavor. However, the tater tots are excellent. While I have encountered a couple of great bartenders, my last visit was marred by staff who appeared extremely negative and angry. One cook, carrying something hot, unexpectedly came through a quiet corner in the back and started yelling at patrons to move, despite no prior traffic in that area for over two hours that we were sitting there. I really enjoy this place. the ambiance and decor are perfect for this part of the city and simply because of the age of this establishment. There are always quite a few people there no matter what time I go which is mostly for lunch or happy hour. They have definitely established a regular crowd over the many years. We went to Star Brass on Sunday afternoon to get together with a group of about 8 others for drinks and lunch. Such a fun spot! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! They were on top of the orders, drinks, requests, fire pits. Everything! We really appreciated it all. They have great bar food! I ended up with fish and chips - definitely the best I've had here in the seattle area. The batter was nice and crispy, while the fish was fresh. I loved the shoe string fries as well! We also ordered some tots and onion rings for the table. The small size of both were perfect for about 4 people. Both apps were hits and we enjoyed them with allll the dipping sauces! I've only been during the day or just after work - but I have always found it to be a laid back place to eat and hang out with surprisingly good food. I especially like the Tavern burger, or the double tavern burger - depending on how hungry I am. It's like a fast food burger but perfected - a perfect balance of meat and cheese and bun and not a bunch else. More complex things I have gotten on their menu have also been good. Came here on a Wednesday night looking for bars in Georgetown good for groups. They have a large outdoor space but the inside is also much more spacious then I was expecting from pictures. The inside is cozy and the bathrooms are clean. Drinks were good and a great value especially compared to standard Seattle drink prices. For food we got fries (very hot and a large serving, enough for 2-3 people), steak bites, the house salad, and wings and were very happy with all of the above. This was a great, semi-random find. I was down in Georgetown for other purposes a few weeks ago when I walked by and saw their sandwich board sign promising really cold beer. Right up my alley! I ended up going here on a weekend right as they opened. Vegetarian options are very, very slim - for the most part you can sub a veggie patty on a burger (no idea what kind of patty), or you can get a veggie Rueben, but I really like Ruebens so I decided to go ahead and give it go...especially for really cold beer! I was basically the first one in for the day, so service was super quick and friendly. I was disappointed that the beer wasn't really cold, but I got to try Jellyfish brewing (which is right down the street) for the first time and that was lovely. The Rueben, from a visual standpoint, left a lot to be desired. It looked really burnt and kinda sad, but they simply used a dark rye that ended up being really good with a perfect amount of toasty. Tavern sauce was also quite good. Just like everywhere else it's mayo mixed with....I don't remember what I thought it was?! Now I kinda want to try it again! From a vegetarian standpoint, this isn't going to be somewhere I frequent, but it has a pretty nice vibe and it would be great for a mixed group. read more

I just love the side of the wall seating where you can sink into the cushion and have your back to the wall. Must be genetic from my Texas linage as this really feels like a western saloon. I like the inside, but they have an outside seating too. The vibe is chilled during the day hours where you can come and settle in, drink a few and watch some sports on the televisions. There's gobs of comfort food to be had, but I ended up having their $5 burger and fries. Then, immediately realize I need another $5 burger as one isn't enough for me. The meat is hand made patty grilled to perfection on a griddle with a toasted bun. You really can't get a better simple burger then what's had at SBWL. I've dropped by a few evenings and this place becomes more of a honky-tonk atmosphere where you can do some serious drinking as they have a full bar and some great drinks. This is definitely a great place to hang out in Georgetown and if your coming to this area, you should put it on your list to stop by. read more

Star Brass Works Lounge is a little dive-y, but a pretty relax place to get a drink and cheap happy hour food. It is right next to the mobile park vintage shopping area, so it's in a nice area. The service was pretty great! The woman there was very nice and accommodating. My friend just ordered drinks and went back to her seat, while my other friend and I ordered food too. She came back to check if out our friend wanted food and thought she forget her order! That was pretty nice of her. I ordered the pretzel plate and I felt a tiny bit fancy in this dive-y bar. The Pretzel was nice and warm, and not oily, compared to other pretzels I had. The cheese sauce could use a little work, it was kind of liquid like and needed more impact of flavor, but overall not a back plate. They have this amazing happy hour deal! $6-7 beer/micro and you get a hamburger! It's a pretty basic hamburger, but it's a pretty awesome deal. read more

Star Brass Works Lounge has lots of cheap beer and food options! I came here with my sports team after playing a game on a weekday night and there was tons of seating options available. I got a burger ($7) and a sour beer ($7). The burger was pretty average and sort of small, as expected for being so cheap. The sour beer was good also. They definitely messed up a few orders at our table but we had a big group. Overall, a pretty average bar/lounge in the middle of Georgetown. I wouldn't seek out the place but prices are affordable and has decent vibes. read more

I love Star Brass for many reasons. The service is always quick and friendly, they have a great happy hour, and a good mix of drinks. Having a severe sensitivity to light, I REALLY appreciate that it is quite dark inside but also has a huge outdoor patio. I've tried a big portion of the food menu, and everything I've had has been delicious and reasonably priced. Parking can be a bit of a challenge as the paid lot fills up quickly, and street parking is hit or miss. read more

Went next door instead. Much friendlier environment. The owner of this company should rethink staffing ppl like her who r on more of a power ego trip than managing professionalism and business transactions. Awesome staff, burgers, and drinks. Add the great patio and this has become by default after work spot. I typically get the double tavern burger, tots with cheese and one of their rotating slushy drinks. I'm usually wary of slushy drinks being way too sweet but that is definitely not the case here. Highly recommend going here with groups as well on a nice afternoon as it's generally not too crowded and you can find a table outside with a good deal of nearby parking. One downside is as a parent and this being a bar, we can't bring our kids with us but that's more a Washington State thing. read more

They have a really nice outdoor space where you can always bring your puppy if you want! This spot was on the docket to come by during a Saturday night b-day celebration. We hit up a few other bars beforehand but birthday girl decided to come here before ending up at Kittens Cabaret. This place is chill, great dark interior, immediate greetings from bartender as our group walked in, luckily for the 7 of us we got a good spot to sit at. We already ate so we weren't hungry but quite thirsty. I especially like that being in Georgetown, they have local Georgetown Brewing on tap. Love me a "Johnny Utah"!!! (especially from Point Break).
