I've been with new Optix San Marcos for over 3 years I bring my 2 children here to get their eye exam done and get glasses if needed! Today I called and Ashley picked up I needed to get my frame replaced cause my glasses were destroyed from me sleeping with them. Ashley answered all my answers she was patient and when I asked if they offered military discount for my frames she said they did offer it as long it wasn't apart of any of their promotions! She found the frame I currently have and they were in stock so I was super happy to get my frame the same day with my lenses! I hate to do this but I have to be honest. Their opticians are uncaring and not very thorough. You are dealing with people's vision. People who wear glasses all day. I received the wrong progressive height twice. Was a pain and stressful to deal with. They have unlicensed opticians who aren't focused on what they're doing. Noticed another customer complaining of the same thing while I was waiting... having to come back to get glasses re-adjusted due to the optician's unprofessionalism, incompetence, and lack of ethics. They don't take their jobs seriously. What good is the doctor that prescribed for you is great, if in the end you're getting horrible adjustments with the glasses from the opticians and wrongly fitting frames? Very backwards. read more

The glasses have the prices clearly marked, and they do an excellent job of making sure they optimize your benefits. Great selection of designer and budget glasses as well. Absolutely no way would I recommend this place to anyone. Went in to look at glasses late on a Friday to which I was informed I must have an appt. I proceeded to make an appt. for following Monday. I received a text at 11am to remind me of my appt. Went in, waited while receptionist was on a call, to be told that there was a scheduling mix up and my gal was at lunch and would be back in half an hour. A, what part of making an appt. do they not understand? You would think if they can send out a text to remind me, they could at least call to cancel! Work ethics are not acceptable. Never received a call to apologize or reschedule. read more

Doing new things and going to new places is scary for me. I had been putting off getting my prescription updated for 4+ years; my previous optometrist was by my work, but since going full remote, I've had no reason to drive out that way. I was noticing some slight changes in my vision, and I decided to work up the mental capacity to try a new place close to my home; this office! I was super anxious arriving, but once I started interacting with the staff and doctors, my anxiety slowly diminished. Everyone was so nice, kind, and patient. It was the perfect balance of soft and energetic and made me feel welcomed and confident in their care. This was also the first office I've been to which allowed me to do both a contact lens fitting/prescription and glasses prescription in the same visit! I had seen this business in my travels and after much delay, I decided to walk in to talk to someone about making an appointment for my husband and I. I had issues with my insurance and had spent the better part of a year trying to see what coverage we had. I walked in and explained my situation to Ashley. Not expecting her answer to be any different, I was floored when she not only confirmed our insurance but was able to look up our insurance and hand walked me through! She was so great and I was so happy to have someone actually listen to me and help! We made an appointment and received an exam with glasses and let me tell you . . . from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, everyone was so great! All of the doctors and staff here at New Optix Optometry were very professional and extremely friendly. The ladies at the front were very helpful and easy to talk to. Dr. Ta was also super easy to talk with as I have a more difficult prescription and eye condition. I had a different optometry for 8+ years and was a little nervous to go somewhere new but they made me feel like a customer whose been there for years. Amazing experience! Dr. VanDan made the experience great for me, my wife, and my 3 year old. Doctor took the time to explain what he was doing as he was doing it, which was refreshing. He is very good with kids, made the exam process fun and painless for my 3 year old, to where my daughter asked to have her eyes checked again. The initial visit was good. Exam went good, nice providers and staff but it all went down hill from there. It's been 4 months and I still don't have my glasses. I know Covid shut the world down but I've had EVERY issue in the world happen. Glasses came in broke, then they were back ordered to replace , then the lens came in wrong , then the lab was delayed. All the while I was waiting. I'd call and they'd say it would be done this day and it wasn't done for another week or 2. Another delay , another problem. Such a nightmare. Like the worst I've ever experienced. I'd call always get the run around, some didn't know what was going on, others would give false information. It's been one of the biggest headaches I've ever encountered as a patient in any field. When I asked for a discount or some kind of act of good faith they said no. I manage a healthcare office and if I had a patient wait that long or had as many problems as I did, I'd definitely do whatever it took to TRY and make up for the failure of my office. It's unfortunate they don't see it that way. I hope one day to get my glasses and never look back. read more

I came here to simply get an eye exam. I was dead set on getting glasses online and the warmth of Gabby and Kit let me know that this would (with the hopes of my Dr being amazing) be my home Eye Doctor. The girls are so welcoming and polite BUT NOT PUSHY! Dr. Ta was simply the BEST! She was funny while staying professional and assertive! She is very personable and was patient while I was trying to sort out what not straining felt like! Sure enough, I needed some glasses....I went to the front and after trying ALMOST EVERY PAIR ON.... I found a pair that I ABSOLUTELY love - I offered to help the girls sanitize them directly after (COVID regulations) and they were SO happy to be working and insisted that I just relax and wait until the right pair "let me know they were it"!! How exciting it was to have their support in this experience considering how shut out I feel adjusting to the new "norm" of COVID-19!!! I found the glasses and I found my home Optometrist! We came in to New Optix and we saw Dr Michael. It was a great experience especially by Michelle at the front desk, Michelle was really helpful, courteous, very professional, full of enthusiasm and it really seemed Michelle loved her job. It's really important to us, to go into any business and to feel welcomed and valued, Great customer service. Dr Michael was so informative with everything and answered all of our questions. We switched over from our previous optometrist after 10+ years of seeing him. Dr Michael was excellent! At the end of our visit we saw Michelle again for fitting and to go over all of our insurance coverage and she delivered. Not only was she extremely through, but she was also really patient because between the two of us we had several glasses that we tried on at least 10 frames but Michelle was more then willing to help us and give us answers on the frames,and on our insurance plan, this was a great experience for us. If Dr. Tran reads this you have a great employee and whatever incentives that you may give your employees Michel deserves twice as much. GREAT EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND! read more

I haven't had my eyes checked in years, so I was initially really nervous going in for the visit. Milestone Optometry is tucked in a shopping center right off the freeway which made it super easy to locate. The office space is beautiful and clean with tons natural lighting. I had my eye exam with Dr. VanDan. He was very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. He made my visit very pleasant and explained every step thoroughly. I walked away knowing I had 20/20 vision! This place seem to have sophisticated electronic eye exam equipment and it made me feel confident that my exam would be thorough. Dr. Michael was professional and friendly. He took the time to listen and answered my questions. I never felt rushed. I usually hate to go to get an eye exam because of the hard sell on glasses. Not here. I told them I would be buying my glasses somewhere else and they politely accepted my answer. I was meant to be a patient here!! After looking for optometrists all over north county, I finally found the perfect fit!! I was a patient at Vista Vision for over 15 years, and after getting screwed on my last pair of glasses, and having to go in 5 different times to get them fixed, and having to deal with the worst customer service, I said no more & see ya never! After reading the great reviews of this place, and talking to the customer service team over the phone, I felt a sense of calmness, and made the appointment for get this... 2 days later AND on a SATURDAY... BONUS!! I was greeted by 3 lovely ladies at the front desk, and I noticed that the 1st display kit at their office was none other than my fave glasses brand, Raen! I was taken back to see the doctor, who was extremely knowledgeable, and even asked me questions my previous optometrist never had, and made some great contact and lens suggestions! My son was so stoked too because they had such a cute play room for kiddos as well! While I had to wait for my dialation of pupils, I looked at all the Raen frames, and got my pupil distance checked, and provided FREE OF COST! My previous place wanted to charge me $25 to provide me my pupil distance #, which made me fall in love with this place even more, and even more happy that I left that old place behind! The cherry on top was that they had my favorite coffee in k-cups, Starbucks - Pike Place, AND had the BEST music playing in the lobby, 90s top hits (Spice Girls)! I was provided a trial pair of contacts by the doctor that same day, and was told 1 of my 2 trial pairs of contacts would be ready in 2 weeks, and other one would be ready 2 weeks after that one, but my 1st pair arrived a week before planned! I LOVE New Optix, and they will have a patient for life!! read more
