We arrived to try their shaved ice and very pleasantly surprised on how good it was. Their shaved ice is sweet but not in a bad way. The small size was a lot bigger than I expected. Ask to add cream and ice cream to the bottom. I was told this is very similar to Hawaiian shaved ice. It's also very reasonably price. The portion sizes here are generous and there are goodies that accompany the shaved ice to boot. Thing Two ordered the Flamingo which came with a little floaty pink flamingo (how cute is that). Aside from the deliciousness and fun surprises, the owner of the truck who served us was polite and very patient with Thing Two and I while trying to figure out what we wanted. This is a family owned and operated business and I'm not sure if all the employees are family (older children) but I believe they are. Italian ice is made with a base of water, sugar, and fruit juices or purees, while ice cream is made with milk, cream, sugar, and flavorings. Italian ice doesn't contain dairy or eggs. This truck serves up many flavors and allows customers to make their own concoctions based upon what is available on the truck. The Italian ice here is smooth and has a fine-grained texture, similar to sorbet. Aside from the Italian ice, I purchased an acai bowl. The Tropical acia bowl was tart from the berries within the bowl but had a sweet aftertaste due to the honey drizzle.
