Been about 8 years since I've gone and took my GF today to have a shaved ice. Unfortunately the quality is nothing like it use to be when the the older man (i guess the owner) use to work at the window. Really not sweet and had very little flavor and syrup. I came here with a mom friend in the middle of summer. It was hot! She told me this was her guilty pleasure when she was pregnant with her daughter so we ordered to snowcones. I got one that was mango and guava flavored and I appreciated that I could actually taste both of the flavors. They have a few tables and chairs where you can enjoy your treat. Service was very good. They go to drive thru only at varying times depending on staffing. They have many more products than in the past. However, today's experience with the staff, especially the manager Maria, has been really upsetting. There was no music playing when we walked up. I was curious to try this place out because of how hot it was. The small is a perfect size because it's not too much. I believe the ice cream is a soft serve. My friends and I walked over to Kawaii Shaved Ice for dessert after dinner at a nearby restaurant. There is only outdoor seating (about 4-5 benches) so be mindful that you may or may not find seating depending on how busy it is. The shaved ice was good--mostly melted in your mouth, but wasn't as smooth as its competitors like Bahama Bucks or authentic Hawaiian Shaved Ice. It still had an "icy" texture, crunch and all. It was still refreshing nonetheless on this super hot evening. Some random observations: There weren't any trash cans outside to throw out empty cups away, which we found strange, and also had to cut in front of the line to ask for napkins since there are none available anywhere outside where we were sitting. Finally got a chance to stop by Kawaii Shaved Ice after living in Round Rock for 15 years. I know that they've been open for quite some time but never felt an urge to drive all the way there for some flavored ice. My son is an ICEE addict, so I felt we could change things up since we were already in downtown Round Rock. We ordered him the Blue Hawaiian and I ordered one with mango and pineapple. They were both really good and super refreshing, especially since it's been over 100 degrees. There's a huge selection of flavors to choose from and they also have shakes, sundaes, smoothies, and ice cream. No inside seating, but they do have plenty of picnic tables outside and the misters going which helps it stay a little cooler. We would definitely stop by again if in the area, but my son still prefers his blue ICEEs. Kawaii is definitely a great alternative to switch it up though. read more

I wasn't able to actually try anything they sold but was highly disappointed that we waited outside for over 30 mins...I understand that it was a holiday weekend but I'm not sure if they had enough staff working or what was the cause for such a long delay. For a small snow one it's $3.50 but I like to add pickles and chamoy/chile to mine so there's an additional cost. It's a solid place to check out on a hot summer day! Being from Hawaii this is one of the most authentic shave ice places I've found so far. My kids live this place. It has a walk up window or a drive-thru option and they're typically busy but it's worth it and the prices are reasonable. I always love going to Downtown Round Rock and getting Kawaii Shaved Ice on a hot day. They have some of the widest range of options to choose from. The Small is more then enough for most people. I didn't give a 5/5 as they charge extra for using card as a form of payment and the floor and tables are dirty and quite sticky. There's also a lack of trash cans. Overall the prices are fairly good for what your getting and having shaved ice during some of these hottest days in Round Rock really is nice. It's a small but cute place with covered outdoor seating. I got the Island Twister which is blue raspberry and pineapple with cream and my bf got Green Apple and Cinnamon with cream. Both were very good. We've had snow cones with stronger flavored syrups but they were yummy and the ice was very soft and fluffy. The customer service was quick and cordial. WORST ESTABLISHMENT EVER! Let's talk about customer service or lack thereof. You have a group of young girls who are probably highschoolers with little to no experience. Train them. Teach them. The toxic interaction I had on a visit proves that the owners put no effort into their employees. Just telling them to shave the ice & get it out the window. No greeting or a friendly "thank you,have a nice day". And then you have the audacity to put a big 'ol pickle jar out for tips?! What tips are you expecting to make when you treat customers with the lowest set of skills? And an attitude as sour as those pickles that came in that jar? Syrup....lets unpack this gem of a topic. If you're gonna be greedy with the syrup, shut your place down. We ask for a snowcone with syrup,sometimes two flavors and get to the bottom and it's drier than the sierra deserts. The snocone actually left me dehydrated. I won't say more except that as a kid I remember this place started out in a shabby 'ol trailer. Today the building itself looks polished and put together, however, some serious adjustments on the inside need to be made. You're selling syrup and ice not kidney's & hearts. Whew Chile!
