Recently I had a sports coat's lining repaired there. When I returned to pick it up, the work was done well, but there was an ink stain on the front of the coat that had not been present when I brought it in. I brought it back to inquire about it, and of course they denied causing it, and further could not fix it. So, bye-bye jacket. It is possible that there was a pen in a pocket somewhere when I brought it to them, and that the pen leaked while in their possession. I cannot dispute that. However, why wasn't this problem pointed out to me when I picked it up and paid the cost of the repair? It was quite obvious when I finally took it out of the plastic to wear it. Regardless of the time the leak occurred (before, during or after the repair), it was certainly there when they finished their work. It would have been more honorable to point this out to me, rather than have me find it once at home. I am a reasonable guy, and I recognize the ownership of the ink and time of leakage is in doubt. Still, it was visible to me, and likely visible to them before the transaction was completed. But, rather than be upfront about it, and explain it was not their fault and only saw the stain at the conclusion of their work, they chose to not inform me, and make me return to them to talk about it. And, of course, they were defensive and unwilling to see any way they could have handled it differently. Not a good business move, as I cannot continue to use their services in good conscience, and I am writing this review to warn off other people who might encounter a problem in the future. These seem to be nice people, but a bit shortsighted. All they had to do was deal with me directly, and as if they were sorry this happened even without any admission of responsibility, and I would have been unhappy, but satisfied with their deportment. As it was, they failed on the human interaction scale, and lost a customer.

Tried to get them to repair their work and they refused, wouldn't even reimburse for their poor work quality. I brought the shirt to another tailor in town and they said it was unrepairable because the fabric was glued with fabric glue before being stitched. Shirt is ruined. This used to be my go to cleaner but I think it changed ownership as the pandemic hit. Not the same place - DO NOT USE!

We had decided to not sew it back on because we thought it would look ok without it. Sue told us she would hold onto the trim just in case we didn't like the way it looked without it. When we went back to try the dress on and pick up, Sue had sewn the horsehair back onto the dress because she didn't think it looked good without it. The dress turned out beautifully! I am so grateful to Sue for doing such a great job and genuinely caring that the dress looked perfect, even knowing that she had already priced out the job for me and how much extra time went into it!! I first met my friends at Stitch and Style during a difficult time when I was dealing with some health issues. They were incredibly patient and understanding, never making me feel rushed, even when I wasn't sure how long I'd be able to stand for fittings. That kindness meant more than they probably realize. I had a wedding guest gown that needed to be taken up and it had to be done by that Friday. I drove to the shop and it was a small place with two rooms. It was in an old building, next to a realtor, with parking in a lot. The inside was old and also beat up, dirty, and dusty but I didn't let that bother me. A woman was working on the sewing machine. I don't know if that's Eric's wife. There's a room to change in the back so I put the dress on and Eric measured it. I left. Eric texted me that the dress was ready Friday morning. I picked it up and it was the perfect length. It looked great! It was taken up at the waist so the pretty bottom of the dress that had an asymmetrical ruffle was not touched. I was very happy with it. Later that day, I accidentally dialed the store number so hung up quickly. Eric saw that I called and called me back to make sure that everything was ok. How nice is that?
