    I like cars and am kind of into them so I've decided to write this review as a recommendation of New Star Auto Body and Repair, my new go to auto body and repair shop. I am generally a diy kind of guy and skeptical about who I let work on my car but there are certain things just better left to the professionals to do such as auto body and paint work, brake job repairs, exhaust issues, clutch jobs, ignition starter work, catalytic converter work, window motor failure, transmission work, collision repair, and other non laymen auto related work. From my understanding New Star Auto also performs simple jobs such as oil changes, tune ups, and brake pad replacements as well. Long story short, I trust the staff at new star auto repair. Here is my basic simlple and easy to understand 411 of New Star: Pros: honest and knowledgeable mechanics Locally owned and operated Fair and honest pricing Friendly and professional customer service Quality work Comfortable (but small) waiting room Cons: Located in a busier part of Duluth They can get pretty busy on weekends No nearby coffee shops Their parking lot can be a bit crowded. Suggestions to owner: maybe offer water or candy for guests or consider putting in a vending machine for snacks/drinks? Tip for oil changes: bring your own oil / oil filter for a discount A relatively new and welcome addition to Duluth with expert and friendly staff earn New Star Auto Body a 4.777 yelp star in my book.     Was last month I discovered scratches down the side of my car & no idea who did it…read more Insurance calls this a hit & run so unfortunately my full deductible applied- OUTCH!! I made an appointment to take the car in, they took it right away & said it would be done in about a week; repaint both doors. I asked if the shop could do some minor touch ups to the scratches as well, and my guy marked them & said no problem. In the touch ups the shop made a bigger chip in the paint resulting in the hood being taken off & repainted. They did it, explained the situation & it was no problem except the extra week in the shop. All good, very communicative & kind. The front desk team could have been more friendly, but otherwise a good experience. Located beside Gwinnett Place Honda, you can see the building clearly marked Colission Center as you pull in from the road. They have Enterprise Rental inside the building as well- nice folks there too. I hope you never have to visit them, but if you do... be patient & they will take care of everything!

    Unprofessional! I…read morehad my wife's 2017 Honda Accord worked on by them last summer at the recommendation of the insurer. Brian Anderson was our rep. Upon "completion" of the work, he had to take the car back 3 times because he gave us the keys to drive off, but before driving off, we saw they didn't put the decals/badges back on the vehicle, then we noticed they had numerous scratches all over the sides of the vehicle's clear coat that had to be buffed out, and finally, because there were multiple clear coat bubbles on the new trunk. Finally Brian tried to guilt us into taking the vehicle with the bubbles, as he said we would need to bring it back and drop it off to have those fixed while saying "We're just not going to be able to make you happy" after receiving over $12,000 from the insurance company to fix the vehicle. I filled out their survey and it accurately reflected the quality of work as well as the unprofessional comment. Fast forward to this week, we had another vehicle involved in a wreck. Per the insurance company's recommendation, we took it to Hendricks for an estimate. Lucky me! I got Brian Anderson as my rep again. I asked him that if they do the repairs, I wanted assurances that the paint would not contain bubbles on this go around, as it's a new vehicle. He responded that he can make sure that it won't but they won't be able to make the lines perfect. He then wrote the estimate for $2700 plus another $600-&1200 for ADAS calibration. Went to get a second estimate, which came in at $4500. Called Hendrick to schedule the drop off and Brian informed me that they were declining to take the job without providing a reason. I called and spoke with the manager, Clint who then informed me that it was because I gave them a low review on the previous work. He said a low review prevents their guys from getting bonuses. In other words, these guys are trying to suppress honest reviews and complaints, instead of taking action to train their workers to remedy and reduce future customer service issues. Additionally, it looks like they purposefully wrote the estimate on the new vehicle low and against my explicit instructions, sent it to the insurer, in what looks like an attempt to try to make it a headache when getting the repairs because of the cost difference for the actual scope of work. My recommendation is to STEER CLEAR of this shop. Their dealings are unprofessional, and frankly petty and vindictive.

Best Decision I could have made !!! Great people, Brett walked me through the damage and gave me the estimate. He called every 2-3 days letting me know how things were going and gave me a finish date. Best customer service I have ever received !! Picked my SUV up on scheduled date and was Extremely pleased. Andrew and Trent were simply outstanding. When I first picked up my car after an insurance claim repair, the paint match wasn't quite what I had hoped for. I took the car anyway, but they assured me I could come back if I wasn't 100% satisfied. Honestly, I didn't really believe it at the time. Over the next few months, the difference in color on the bumper began to bother me more and more. Eventually, I left a negative review on Google. To my surprise, the very next day I received a call from Trent, inviting me back to have the bumper repainted. Skeptical, but hopeful, I decided to give them another chance. From the moment I arrived, Andrew and Trent treated me not as a "problematic customer," but as someone whose concerns genuinely mattered. They listened, reassured me, and stood behind their work. I just picked up my car, and I couldn't be happier. The paint looks fantastic, and the whole experience has completely changed my perspective. I have removed the negative review and I'm replacing it with this one simply to express my gratitude to these outstanding individuals and the entire team who took part in this process. After a very disappointing arrival at Rick Case Hyundai in which the sales liaison was supposed to hold a Mazda CX5 for me. (Driving from Woodstock, 1.25 hours) I was told that he would hold for me. Sold it before I arrived. I came in and ripped him apart because he was disrespecting my time and came up with zero solutions to this problem. I asked him did he even confer with their own Mazda dealer down the street for solutions... this guy looked at me dumbstruck (name was Daniel Kang) . Horrible representation of Rick Case and I can't say much for the other crew members (managers?) who were behind the counter on the floor. I drove over to see if this other dealership had any to my liking. Met with Luis, gave him the long version of this story and he was willing to assist me even while I was still hot. We looked at a few, talked a bit and test drove two models to the other location. I was in the right sense (I calmed down) and made a very good decision to purchase a great CX-5 from them at a price I wanted. Not pushy, not arrogant, willing to work with me. Traded the car and put money down. I was able to pick it up on a Monday. (They wanted to clean the car and make sure it's what it's supposed to be) Many thanks to the team that helped defuse me, refocused and made a good decision.     AVOID!!! Service department is a complete joke. They managed…read moreto screw up a basic oil change by putting 1 and half quarts lass oil than needed and tried to gaslight me that the low oil level warning came out because they "cleared some codes". When I told them that I physically checked the oil, they finally admitted to what actually happened and of course, blamed the parts department for the screw up. When I tried to complain to the service manager Charlie Maldonado and the general manager Jeff Edge - complete silence on their end. Do not bring your cars for service here. If they managed to screw up an basic oil change - you can't trust them with anything else service related. AVOID!!!
