I called Alex Auto and explained what was going on with my car. Raphael told me to pull up and don't worry about a diagnostic fee. I went right away in case he changed his mind. When I arrived, I received a warm welcome. They pulled my car in right away and had me go back to look under the hood with them! Long story short, I was turned away due to them working with integrity. After speaking with Alex and Raphael, no work was recommended. Everything checked out good! Even though I told them that I have a diagnostic from the dealer, they still want me to bring the car for diagnostic first. It turns out the noise was a common problem of a damaged brake cable guide clip causing rubbing against the driveshaft. Last year I had some work done on my car as a result of an accident. Their pricing was accurate and did not try to sell me on anything else. the place is clean and they are very professional. On a personal note: We had a kitten (that my wife and I found and were bringing back with us) that got behind the dashboard of my car. We had no way of getting him out. I then decided to take them to an auto body shop and see if they can do something. Well by the time I got to the shop the kitten had moved. He was very quiet and so we could not tell if he was alive or dead. They eventually found him (1 hour later). He got up and into the seat, One of the mechanics thought he was so cute that he wanted to adopt him right there. And so the story ends. The mechanic adopted him. What can I say that others haven't? Hm...how about we drive the same car: E39 M5's. That's how I found Alex: via his car and helpful advice on the M5Board both to me and other enthusiasts around the country. When I learned his shop wasn't too far away (at the time the Buford location) I knew I had to pay him a visit. As most everyone has said, it's very hard to find a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and fair mechanic. Being this was my first BMW and moreover, my dream car, I was nervous about leaving it in a strangers possession given my past experience with other shops. Alex assured me my car would be fine and showed me his M5 and the meticulous car he showed it (and his other cars). And here we are, several years later and I'm still a loyal customer. My car goes in for the usual maintenance and comes back with no surprises. I've added my wife's Chrysler Pacifica. And let me not forget John!
