I've always heard good things about friends Auto and so I took my car there for a metal piece that was hanging down under my car. Even though it was around 4 p.m. when I called the owner said come on by at 5 and he would look at it. Very fast they took my car back and the mechanic came out and showed me what was wrong. Come to find out that the peace that busted was not essential for the car to function just save me a lot of money as I Was preparing for at least a $300 repair. I can recommend this shop now has a place to get your car repaired and I've heard that they can repair almost any make or model the please call ahead first. The only place I trust with my car now. I was dealing with another local mechanic for 2 years, ever since I had bought my car, and I came across some crazy engine issues stemming from what I thought was just a needed tune up for my 2011 VW CC. After almost $5k worth of repairs with the other mechanic and my car still not drivable, I brought it to Friends bc of the high number of good reviews and it was totally worth the month waiting time. They're that great. Although they did do a lot of the part replacements, James has been so helpful and communicative about my car's issue from day one and his attention to detail is what allowed him to notice finally that it was simply the wiring that needed to be sealed to get my car to run. You do need to schedule in advance because they get booked very quickly. As far as COVID safety. There is an outside sitting if you decide to wait for your car, but it is recommended to drop off. If you need help with you car, DEFINITELY come to Friends Auto. Customer service here is absolutely amazing. Generally you'll hear about car shops ripping you off or recommending things you don't need just to get your money... That is not the case at Friends. They truly, genuinely want to help you out here. And not only just help, but also for the BEST price as well. The first time I came to Friends, my boyfriend and I just replaced our A/C and needed an A/C recharge. By the time we finished, it was close to 4:00 and most places were almost closing. We called around several shops, and the ones that would take us were giving us really high prices. We knew Friends was almost closing, but since we were nearby, we stopped by anyways to ask them if they could take us. They initially told us they couldn't fit us in and get it done in time for closing but we could leave our car and pick it up the next morning. We walked back to our car to think about it. They came running out to us telling us they could fit us in and finish the job within 20 minutes. We asked them how much. Their price by far beat every single other place I had called (at least 8 places). Months later, we had our A/C stop working in another car. We did the same thing as last time- replaced the A/C and brought it back to Friends for the recharge. When my boyfriend called to make the appointment, James even remembered who he was. He took us in the next day, finished the job in about 20 minutes, and we were on our way. Oddly, shortly after leaving, our A/C stopped working again. We called them back and asked to bring our car back in. We got back right before closing and were in a hurry. James looked at our car really quickly so he could try to troubleshoot it for us. Turns out, there were other things wrong that ruined the A/C part that we had just replaced. James told us exactly what we needed to do, he even told us that he could do the job for us, but it would cost a lot of money and it wouldn't be worth it for us to have him do it. He was completely honest with us rather than taking our car and money. After going home and doing what James recommended, we still ran into a few more problems. We came back and talked to James once more in person and on the phone as well while we continued to work through the issues. He helped us EVERY single time. When we finally fixed the problem and brought our car back in for the recharge, he never charged us again. Not a single extra penny. After the initial visit, we had come back to his shop and he had looked at our car and given us help/advice twice, called him, THEN come back for the final recharge, and he STILL didn't charge us anything extra. The only time we paid was the initial visit. We were absolutely mind-blown. We had already been impressed the entire time with his friendliness and willingness to help. He answered all our questions and troubleshooted everything for us. He fit us in late notice and finished quickly each time. But after that final visit, we knew then that Friends Auto will always be where we take our car and recommend business to from this point on. Friends Auto and James are absolutely amazing. After recovering from getting the wind knocked out of me when I heard this, I quickly dialed James' number. Worth the Wait! I took my car in for a general checkup and to see what it needed for maintenance. The dealer would say it needs everything on the checklist for hundreds, but the nice people at Friends checked to see what actually needed fixing or replacing. Turned out, all I needed was a light bulb and some brake pads! They took care of everything quickly and well, Rose at the front desk was a pleasure to work with, and the waiting area is not fancy but clean and roomy and they have Wi-Fi. You've probably heard that there's no such thing as an honest mechanic... Well let me tell you that this is NOT the case with James. After moving to Atlanta and finding Friends Auto on Yelp I decided to give them a try. As long as I'm in the area and James is working he will be my mechanic! James is highly competent, fairly priced, and absolutely honest. He's worked on 3 cars for me and everything he's done so far has been completed in a timely matter and done right. As an example, he figured out an issue with an A/C system on a car that three other mechanics "repairs" actually couldn't fix. James found the problem, the real problem, and repaired the issue permanently. Having a skilled mechanic is a good thing, but in my opinion, if they're constantly trying to sell you on unneeded repairs or trying to extract a little extra money from you each visit, it just ruins the experience. James has already demonstrated to me on multiple occasions that he's not going to sell you on something you don't need just to make a buck. Conversely if he tells you work needs to be done you can believe him. It's ultimately a small business and he's got a lot of work, so you may have to wait a bit to get an appointment but don't get frustrated; it's absolutely worth a wait to get your cars services by Friends Auto. Had an issue with my car. He gave me a reasonable quote and made time to squeeze me in before the holiday weekend. Once he started the repair, he called me when he noticed an issue that would have increased the cost significantly and let me make an informed decision about moving forward. Friends Auto is so popular that you have to make an appointment if you want to get work done here. I called to make an appointment, but no one picked up, so I left a voicemail. Not too long after, Rose called me back and we were able to set an appointment two weeks out because their schedule is pretty packed. On the day of my service, I brought my car here for an oil change. The waiting area is not huge, but it's clean and has all the essentials. Rose was super nice and I was out of there before too long. James not only changed my oil, but he saw that my battery was really dirty, so he just cleaned it for me! With such great service, I will definitely be back when I have other car troubles. read more

I just recently moved to Georgia from Los Angeles. I had a tire problem and had a bad experience with Discount Tires. I called my father and he told me I should go check out Friends Auto. I have never been to a auto repair shop where the MECHANIC WAS HONEST and took care of the problem with no B.S. at a very REASONABLE price. I came home and my dad told me he went to a couple of body shops for our honda, and paid a lot more. Then he found this one and he's been going there ever since. I am a believer. HONEST auto shop! My car runs like new again, thank u Friends Auto! I've taken my car there 3 times now, and they only recommend service that actually NEEDS to be done (unlike the BMW dealership that magically finds 10,000 things my car "urgently needs" every oil change and tries to guilt trip me by saying "I thought your family's safety is important to you but I guess not" when I reject their sales pitch). They've even talked me out of getting some things done that I thought needed to be done (according to the BMW dealership). I can totally trust Friends Auto to take care of my car and not push thousands of dollars of unnecessary service (again, BMW dealership). My only complaint is that they're too popular so I can't get in right away but once in, the service is quick and they keep me updated throughout the process. read more
