The prices seem higher than other nearby salons and they actually messed up on my nails. I got the coffin nails and there was a dent on the acrylic on 2 of the nails. Also it was painful with all the filing. My fingers were hurting the next day. It was really busy here though, I was surprised because the usual place I go to is not as busy and they do a better job in my opinion. I came here just to compare prices. I'm looking to see who has the cheaper price with good service. I usually go to half moon nails which is about a 5 minute drive from this location. They have the same prices and also do a good job and they are less busy. I have now found an even better place which is destiny nails at the shopping center next to half moon nails. Destiny nails has the better prices, they do a good job, good service and they are the least busy of the 3 which is surprising. I am always able to get attended right away as a walk in. I do go on less busy days like Wednesdays though. They even have a rewards system where u can get $5 off after 4 visits and 20% off after 9 visits. So I definitely recommend destiny nail of the 3 businesses mentioned. read more

I went to get my nails done and I asked for a really light green and coffin shape whaat they gave me was a bright teal color and a square shape. They also gave me dip nails and not acrylic . They didn't prep my nails right or place the powder on the right spot. They placed the powder laying on top of my skin and. Over my cuticle. The catch is you have to get the really good manicurist to make it worth your money! Their staff changes a lot so sometimes I go in and am not sure who is good and who isnt. So i went in today for the first time. I was immediately attended to which was nice but wanted sns for my hands and regular polish for my toes. I asked for a regular mani pedi. Took me a while to settle on a color because they didnt have the one i wanted. I showed a pic to the nail tech and she brought me another ring of colors to choose from and just settled for something similiar as my toes. The lady doing my feet was very nice. Im just confused on my hands i thought sns was powder/dip or pour? I didnt recieve that. Started by grinding my natural nail with a electric tool which had me nervous because i read natural nails shoudnt use electric filing. So the application...im guessing acryilic? Dipped the brush into liquid then to powder and smoothed over my nail. It was very thick at this point. She used the electric drill again and shaped them more natural. Then a clear coat then did uv to cure. So im confused i read acrylic doesnt need uv and sns doesnt either. Ive had gel done and this definitely is not that. So she finished and asked to clean the dry skin around my nails because i asked for a manicure. She did it after my nails are done while my skin was dry never soaked. Im beyond confused. I was left with a bunch of dry crusty clumps under my nails which i had to dig out and clean myself. Im used to salons asking me to wash my hands in between the process at some point. But not here. Also i thought it was expensive $40 and i added no length. And my nails are really sore which i read is not supposed to happen. Pedicure was great. whatever the hell i got on my hands, not so much. I dont think i will be coming back here very nice people but im very confused and poor clean up and soreness. read more

I've been here a few times and they did a decent job as far as manicures/pedicures go. However, the ladies who work here are rather rude. The last time I visited Star, I got an eyebrow wax and received burns under my brows. I've been getting eyebrow waxes for over five years and I've never been burned that badly before. The woman claimed it was my fault because I "moved" while she was waxing. This has been my go-to nail salon for several years. There is rarely a wait without an appointment because they have lots of chairs and nail techs on hand. The prices are reasonable and there are lots of options if I'm wanting something more indulgent than just a basic pedicure or manicure. I usually get shallac nails, pedicure, and eyebrow wax and always leave feeling relaxed with lovely fingers and toes to boot. It's very different from other nail salons I have used. They set a timer for your session, so don't go here if you want to relax and be pampered. Do go here if you are in a hurry or on your lunch break. They use real herbs and such if you pick the deluxe spa services. read more

i've been going to this place since i was like 10. never had a problem with it. but this last time i went i was getting a full set and the lady the was doing it cut them way shorter than what i asked. and when i asked her to do them longer she laughed. the lady that was doing my pedicure was really nice but i paid for a spa pedicure and she didn't even do the massage. then the same lady that did my full set did my eyebrows as well and she literally just waxed them and said she was done. didn't pluck the hairs she missed and didn't trim them so i had to do it when i got home. definitely wasn't worth the $85. read more

They are usually busy so it's best to make an appointment if you're like me and prefer a certain time but all the techs are good so you can get good service regardless of who is available. If your sign says you close at 6:00, then close at 6:00, not 5:45 (or maybe even earlier - it was 5:45 when I arrived on a Sunday and the 'Open' sign was turned off, the lights were dimmed, and no one was in sight). This is a huge pet peeve of mine and seems to be a habit with a lot of nail salons. I came to get an eyebrow wax. It wouldn't have taken 10 minutes. I have been happy with the service I've received here - I get pedicures and eyebrow waxes - but this habit is enough to make me not want to come back, and it cost them a star. It's no way to run a business, and now I have to go to work all next week looking increasingly unkempt. And forget about having a first date with the guy I like, who I was hoping to see soon. I love this place! They're fast and do a great job. I've gotten a pedicure and facial here. You can choose from multiple services. I can even go on my lunch break and be back to work on time. I've hosted a girls day here before and everyone really liked it. They also serve wine, which is always a plus. read more

I have been going to this place for awhile. I don't go regularly but once every 2 months or so. Today I took my 2.5 yr old daughter for her first mani pedi. She was very excited and that all changed 5 minutes into her manicure. The lady was rude and getting frustrated with a 2.5 year old. Towards the end of the pedicure she was begging to sit in my lap. I made it every clear at the beginning that this was her first time and still they acted so rudely. I won't be going back here. read more

Not the prettiest place but they always bring out new equipment for my pedicure. I care more about sanitized clippers than a chandelier. I've only had pedicure and manis and they're always great. They do set a timer but I like that I don't get shorted for the time I paid. It's more of a guarantee that my 45 min pedi is actually 45 min. read more
