Horrible experience with this company- not transparent and terrible customer service. Contracted them for next day moving, they subcontract out to another company. it did not go smoothly and ended up costing more than agreed too. Customer Service was unhelpful. We had a terrible experience with New Start Relocation. They had helped us with one move so we had confidence that we would get the same service. However, when Suzie called to discuss pickup details, the price more than tripled! We had put a deposit of thousands down with the company, and they were 48 hours away from pickup, and our final price had gone from $5,000 something to $,7000, then up to $17,000! And to make matters worse, WE were being blamed for it! The company had not listed many of our items and then when they went over the list they increased our items to drive the price up. We tried to fight with them to correct things, and then they started to bring the price down, but no where near where it was in the beginning of the move. We had to be out of our house by a certain date so we scheduled a U-Haul to move our things, and cancelled our reservation with New Start. Unfortunately, we are out thousands of dollars from our deposit and they are refusing to give our deposit back. This company is awful and we would never recommend them to anyone. read more

My gun was stolen by one of the movers. As a concealed to carry holder who remembers exactly where my gun was and know the man who packed up the room was the last place it was seen, it's gone. Same individual who showed up smelling like weed to do a job that my security cameras support. Would not recommend, be careful. I, as well as my family has used this company multiple times over the last 9 years and until this last time had good experiences, they are not careful who they hire now a days. read more

I have been a renter since moving to Texas 2 years ago and recently bought a house. Due to the hot housing market the whole process moved ext quickly. I found myself at closing only 25 days after the first viewing of what is now my home. New Start Moving came highly recommended by a coworker who had used them twice in the past. I couldn't have been happier. They were extremely professional, helpful and true gentlemen. I have completed a lot of my unpacking and maybe for the first time ever moved without a single breakage. There were certain items that I moved in my car such as food packed in coolers and the still insisted on lifting those items and helping any way they could. I would definitely recommend them and if I ever need a mover again, the will be at the top of my list. read more

I've used several moving companies over the past 30 years and have never had issues with them. I expected the same professionalism when I hired New Start. I was told by the owner of the company that they could move me in one day since I was moving just a couple miles. Three men arrived about 8:30 with a medium size trailer and said it would take a couple trips. While loading the trailer for the second trip, they suddenly decided to quit for the day. There was still furniture and other items to move, I insisted they continue loading the remaining items since there was a lot of room left in the trailer. They said they both had plans for later that day so this was all they would do. I needed to be out of my house since the new owners wanted to move in and told them I had to have everything out that day, I told them the owner said they would do this in one day. One of the men said the owner never told him that. They wanted me to pay once they unloaded the last of what they moved. I told them I would not pay them until the work was completed. They both became angry and rude, one who was black accused me of treating them like slaves. They drove off leaving me to figure out how to move the rest of the items. I contacted the owner about this and said he would meet with me the next day and make things right. He did not commit to finishing the move though. My husband and I had to move most of the rest of the items that day by ourselves and several trips with our cars. The owner did show up about 4:00 p.m. the next day with a trailer to move the remaining items. He made excuses for the 2 men, that they were experiencing some personal problems and not normally like that. He charged me the full price, regardless of the fact that we had to move many items ourselves when his employees walked off the job. This move was an absolute nightmare because of this company. What kind of movers quit the job in the middle of a move? Worst company ever! Undependable!!! read more
