NTH built our house in 2021. Overall, we're very happy with the entire process including their after sales/customer care experience. This is a reputable local builder who stands behind their work by providing a 2 year warranty. We highly recommend NTH. In comparison, this year we moved to a brand new Pulte home. Within one month we had to file tickets for exceeding number of issues. We got to experience firsthand this national builder's customer care department - THEY DON'T CARE! Stressful! Lengthy response time and scheduling for repairs. Falsely accused us of breaking something where it's a simple manufacture defect. Serious repairs denied with no clear explanation. We believe this arrogant attitude stems from management and is a reflection of the overall company culture. Now, we've shifted from being enthusiastic supporters to advising against purchasing a Pulte home. If you do choose Pulte because you like their particular lot or model, be ready for very poor customer care experience after your purchase. read more

I have been in my New Traditions home in Richland for 4 years, I had some small issues my first few months, they were great with the warranty items that needed fixed. Since then, I have not had any issues. I have owned 6 other homes; this house is the very best I have ever owned. I have seen others who bought from other builders have lots with roof problems and flooding, I have not had any problems. I have a well-built home. I highly recommend New Traditions; they build solid homes with good products and good workers. read more

Do not buy from them or ANYONE in these new construction areas. Especially in Ridgefield as the dirt work they do (they basically change natural typography of the land and bring in fill dirt. So many homes in the area have issues and of course it's after the home warranty is up. Stay away from any subdivision in Ridgefield (as it is hilly and lots of wetlands). Choose places the land was flat. read more

Structurally our house is sound and I believe the actual builders did quality work. However, we have had issues from day one that make me weary of ever recommending New Tradition Homes to anybody else. The contractors they used for the landscaping in my neighborhood had no clue what they were doing. Many of my neighbors, including our yard, have experienced horrible flooding. Our backyard is a mud pit and the front yard has major drainage issues. When we had NT out to take a look at the issue, they said this was 'natural drainage' in the PNW and they wouldn't do anything to fix it. Huh?! 2nd HUGE issue we've dealt with is they apparently have been using shingles that are faulty. We went up on the roof for the first time to put moss remover up and noticed holes everywhere in our shingles, down to the fiberglass- on our 5 1/2 year old house. Hundreds of holes. Now we will be going through warranty hell to try to get this fixed. NT is not being helpful in getting this sorted and said we need to work with the roofer (THEIR COMPANY USED) and the manufacturer and they have no responsibility in this. The roofer told us this has been a known issue with this manufacturer and there's been a lot of people in our area with the same problem. Why our builder didn't tell us this could be an issue and have somebody come out to inspect the house is beyond me. I worry about all of my neighbors that may have the same issue and have no idea. Not impressed with the experience we have had after moving into our house. I expected a lot more out of this company because of everything I've read on their website. Proceed with caution if you decide to use them! read more

We had a home built through New Tradition Homes and moved in a few weeks ago. We have been very happy with the design and building process AND with the quality of work NTH provides. The process went very smoothly. The staff (especially Kelly Wade) communicated very well throughout the process, always responding to our questions and finding out answers from whoever was most knowledgeable. Kelly Wade went above and beyond to help us in a variety of situations. Jerai Laird in the design center was an excellent help as we navigated all the decisions we had to make. The job site construction supervisor, Mark Maunu, was also great to work with and helped us figure out many of the on-the-ground issues associated with the build. We believe the quality of a New Tradition home exceeds that of most other builders. All of the subcontractors do excellent work and we have found very few touch ups or repairs needed. They take care to do things right the first time and we appreciated their attention to detail. We would highly recommend NTH as an excellent builder in the SW Washington or Tri-Cities area. read more

Months of no response, not providing complete information to the buyer, dropping the ball on our requirements many times. Lack of response and lack of concern about our building project. We were told it would take a specific period of time to build but it has now been almost months and still not even started the foundation. We can get no answers from anyone at NT Homes. The Agent is the main reason for all the delay but heaven forbid she take any responsibility for her actions. The President of NT has been advised of our problems but he has chosen to ignore our issues. Guess it does not matter as they can sell the homes no matter how you are treated as a customer. Not to mention, our son is building right next door so NT is getting two customers purchasing their homes. His build has had the exact same issues as ours has. Homes that were purchased months after our purchase are now under roof and progressing nicely. Our sons home has finally been started but not ours. You can only blame so much on COVID. read more

Make sure that you know what you are getting into and signing for. They mean when they say that they will hike up the prices, if costs go up. Be prepared for that hike when you are signing up for all the upgrades. When you sign the price escalation clause on the contract, you know that it will go up and all that time you invested is lost if it does not meet your standards or price range! Plus they are not very flexible if you want extra windows or structural changes from what their plan allows even before obtaining permits, it's a no no! What they provide as standard is just basic features even when they say gold features, it's just standard when compared to other builders! Then add all additions/pricey upgrades and you are already on top of your budget. Finally as you are excited about the house and it's almost getting to the final stages, they tell you that they are going to hike the price up by 20k!! What?? That's it, done with you. They caused me to back out and then they say administrative costs and keep $1000 off of my earnest deposit! Thank goodness I escaped from their trap cause it truly was one! The only reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 0 stars is because of Barbara at the design studio who was very helpful and patient with my questions and doubts with my selections and changes. read more

We are so happy with New Tradition and the home they built for us! Glenn Bonner was our sales guy and helped us out through the process. We purchased a LaCrosse and did some customizations to the layout. The changes we requested (over several rounds) were made and submitted to us by their architect team without problem or charge. Jerai and Melissa over in the Design Center helped us in picking out flooring, bathrooms and paint. And the maintenance team, Marlene, Byron and Galen have been helping with issues we find while living in our new home (there are always some minor issues in all new homes). We have been in our New Tradition home less than 6 years. I have had to have the carpet stretched in all rooms due to large ripples that formed. We are now dealing with leaks in our roof with resultant ceiling damage. I was not expecting these issues when we purchased a new home. read more

It's Time to write my review even though lots of time has expired? So now my History with New Traditions! I was cruising through a construction site in La Center Washington during the summertime 2005 in my ice cream jeep and selling cold bottled water and of course ice cream to the construction workers? My ice cream rig I owned at the time which actually was only a converted vintage postal right hand jeep ? On returning home I told my wife about it and bringing her here for a look she spotted the empty lot she liked and the rest is history for us? New Traditions built us a Home in La Center and we moved in our new digs in January 2006' It's been a fine home for us this past 12 years! We have been very happy with this home that New traditions built for us! But time marches on and the time came to downsize as we're getting older and the big yard and big house with stairs to climb got to be too much for us? So we have sold it to a younger family with kids and traded for a one level home which is comfortable for us as we are now in our 70's ! I leave 5 stars*****! and in summation here let me say I think one more home will be in our future as my wife likes the idea of a home built for us exclusively? Wow what can I not say. Be forewarned. Read every line of the disclosures. Their process is flawed . Bait and switch-they will give you a credit in the Design Center but then tell you lost has a premium thats highe than the credit given. Its a scam. They back you into a corner where you compromise your financial position, you don't receive informed consent from the beginning in terms of what your costs are going to be yet you need to come up with the funds not knowing your final costs. Disclosure contained inaccurate information about storm drainage system in the Heights in Salmon Creek which they admitted. When numerous other issues were brought to their attention they became annoyed and rescinded the contract stating they don't have the resources to address our concerns. If you are purchasing in the Heights in Salmon Creek be forewarned. Have an attorney look over the contract not a realtor!!! read more
