Cute spot. Tacos were OK but I definitely want to go back to try different ones. I had the buttermilk chicken, the Baja fish, and chili lime shrimp. my favorite out of the three was the buttermilk chicken taco. I really liked their trio appetizer which came with chips queso salsa and guac that was really good. Service was good and our waitress was nice!

First time here, and we are locals, and really haven't been impressed with other taco places in the village. I've dined at Vauxhall (same owners I think) and we've liked the food and easy going service. Best part other than the new wave music was definitely the Pet Collective Television, I could literally watch cute animal videos all day so that was very entertaining. We really enjoyed the tacos and burritos. They were also very filling! I literally couldn't have eaten a 2nd taco it was so huge, and mostly meat, not over-shadowed by too much toppings. Great Frozen Margarita- hubby was buzzed off 1, which is surprising for a frozen rita! The service was friendly, once we sat down- no host/hostess. The only complaint I have is that the seats were dirty, and when I went to sit down the stuff that was on the seat was all over my pants. Over-all, good food and experience, would go back again!

I'm very impressed by this place! It's a small spot in Huntington. Let's start with Amanda, who was helping me. She was so friendly, outgoing, and helpful with the menu, even giving her opinions on what to get. She's the best! I decided to try the street corn as an appetizer, and it was SO good. For the main course, I couldn't decide, so she customized a quesadilla for me. I'm not sure what was in it, but it was incredibly well-seasoned. The drinks were also fantastic! I'll definitely be back. Make sure to ask for Amanda as your server

I've been to new wave several times as it's my boyfriends favorite. There are tons of options on the menu. Including vegetarian options. I got the vegan chicken one in a bowl and it was delicious. The spicy habenero sauce was one of the best hot sauces I've had in the area. The service is quick and the food comes out fast. The margaritas are delicious.

We really enjoyed our experience at New Wave. We were visiting family and walked around Huntington Village before New Wave caught our eye. We decided to grab lunch there and were very happy with our choice. Food: As an appetizer, we got the chips dip trio. It's great way to try the queso, salsa, and guacamole. They also were very friendly and gave us extra chips. The queso was delicious, did need a little salt according to me. The guacamole tasted fresh and they even made it spicy for us. For entree, I got the Vegan chick n' with Nashville hot oil. They were DELICIOUS. Perfectly crispy and the right amount of spicy and cool. The sauce they add to it gives it the perfect contrast. I got three huge tacos for only $15. My husband got their Nashville Fried Chicken and he told me he really enjoyed the real chicken version as well. Price: Very reasonable especially for the portion size. When they say 3 tacos, they do NOT mean small tiny ones, they are actually hearty sized. Ambiance: I love the vibe of the bar. It felt like a California surfer vibe yet more upscale. I also like the color scheme in the restaurant. They had casual but nice dish ware. You can clearly tell a lot of thought was put into the set up of the restaurant. Service: Very very impressed with the service. Everyone there was very friendly and so patient with us. We kept trying to sit outside and then it would start raining and they would help us transition back inside. Not once did they give us a hard time.

Came here with some friends last night for dinner. It was a Friday night but it wasn't too busy in here. We ordered some drinks to start and I got the watermelon mojito which was amazing! On the table there were sauces available and I'd recommend the light orange one- I think it was a chipotle sauce and it was really good! We started with the chips and dip trio. Don't be fooled by the chips, underneath the full chips was a pile of just crumbs. We got a second order of the chips and dip trio and let the waitress know that we did receive an unruly amount of crumbs to chips, and in the second order of it we got the same exact thing. Just not enough chips and they should just be careful not giving their customers an absurd amount of crumbs. The queso was actually really good as well as the guac, so if you do come here I would recommend that. I ordered the three tacos for $15. I got the Baja fish, Chile lime shrimp and the fried chicken. Honestly, the only taco note worthy was the Baja fish. The fried chicken was the probably my least favorite. It doesn't give off the fried chicken vibe at all. I was shocked that the shrimp one wasn't that great either. Overall wasn't that impressed with the meal but wasn't bad at the same time.

New Wave Burrito Bar is to die for! The hot cheetos street corn is one of the best items on the menu. It was so flavorful and delicious. The portions here are also huge. I got two meals out of my burrito for the price of one. To top it off, the drinks are delicious and strong. New Wave also has a lot of deals throughout the week (happy hour, taco tuesday, margarita monday, etc.). Always a good time here and the workers are amazing!

Yeah, you read that correctly... not a typo. We were visiting my daughter and her family while on Long Island, but we had to fend for ourselves one evening while they had other plans. We were in the mood for Mexican food, so Yelp to the rescue... and this place popped up. Well, it lived up to all the hype, I'm happy to say. The restaurant is really small... the only negative... and it can get kind of loud, so okay, two negatives, but the food more than made up for it. We had a really good waiter, who was very helpful in helping us place our order. We ordered guacamole, and they made it to our specifications, minus the hot peppers and cilantro. It was FABULOUS and just like I like it.... as good as Besito, by the way !!! I love that place, too. However, what really won me over was this salmon dish in red mole sauce, which I had never had before. It was AMAAAAAAZING. My husband and I SPLIT an order of their Salmon Con Tropical Mole, which was pan-roasted filet of salmon, mole manchamanteles, sweet plantains, papaya pico de gallo. We got some extra plantains and some street corn, and with the gargantuan size of salmon, it was more than enough for the both of us... plus we definitely filled up on chips and salsa (and guac for me). Everything was superb, and I want to say that the salmon was some of the best I've ever had. It was flaky, flavorful and succulent with a very light but appreciated outer crunch. It was soooooooooooo good. So we came away from this place, raving to everyone and anyone who would listen. We talked my daughter and son-in-law into ordering takeout from here as they were worried it was just too small to deal with a bunch of us going, esp. with their young children. Anyway, I'm disappointed to say that their takeout was an entirely different situation. We ordered the "same" salmon dish, and it was like HALF the size. It was the size for one... not that two could split. (If you look at my photo of it, you'll see how large it was... now cut it in half... that's what we got on takeout.) I let my husband have it cuz I was too angry. It had the mole sauce, but I didn't care once I saw it.... plus the salmon itself looked different... it didn't have that nice crunchy shell from pan roasting it. Just so disappointing. The guacamole was still as good as I remember, as was their salsa... but the portion size and quality of preparation... at least with the salmon... was an abomination. I can't speak to what my daughter and son-in-law ordered for entrees because we didn't try it in the restaurant, so we have no point of reference. I feel bad because I raved and raved about their food, and this takeout experience sucked. There should be NO difference. I guess my takeaway would be to recommend that you dine-in there. I'm awarding all FIVE stars for DINE-IN ONLY... and nothing to do with their takeout process. Brave the crowds because they will be there, make a reservation which will help, and eat THERE. I just don't trust the takeout experience with them.

We sat a bit and waited to have our orders taken and sat a bit longer for the check. They were nice, polite, friendly but a little quicker service would have been appreciated. Would I go back? Sure. I'll try something else.

This place is a small deli that has a few tables inside where you can sit down and eat if you want. I've been here twice and took my order to go both times. The menu has a couple of different types of tacos, including lengua, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, chorizo, chicken. They also have tortas, burritos, and breakfast platters. All tacos were listed for $2.75 except for lengua, which was $3. I think this place is cash only. I've tried the lengua, carne asada, al pastor, and chorizo tacos. The tacos are beautifully simple and really solid for the most part. They all came out hot, with double tortillas, onion, cilantro. They give you a generous bag of radishes, lime, and hot sauce, which is great. The only one I wasn't a huge fan of was the chorizo, as the meat was cut up while still being in the casing, instead of being taken out of the casing, which I much prefer. The meats were also fairly dry, so this probably isn't the place for you if you want something ultra juicy. However, the lengua was an exception as it was very tender and moist. With this said, I still very much enjoyed all of the tacos I had. The best thing about this place is that they're charging very reasonable prices at present. There are a lot of taco places which charge $6 or more per taco, which is absurd in my opinion. So I'm glad this place exists and will happily continue to patronize this place as long as prices remain reasonable. Cheers.

The taco of the month, a blackened sirloin steak taco with horseradish crema and corn pico de gallo, brought something a little different to the table.
