Feeling like nagging someone? Then go to Nags Head Ale House! Wait, no. Wrong definition. I think we're talking about horses actually. One thing I know for sure is you'll have a night of enjoyment at this horsey Huntington spot. I don't get up to this town enough, but be it for dinner, a show, or maybe I'm fighting crime (Batman side job?), I always end up at NHAH by the end of the evening. That was the case a few weeks ago following a show at The Paramount. A short walk from the venue and there you are. You've arrived at Nag's Head. *Cue the horse sounds* Now be ready upon entry because this place gets crowded early and only grows from there. Snagging a table can be tough, but if you get one, be like Jack in Titanic and never let go (even if he did). Decibel volume might get louder than anything you just jammed to down the street. Spatially you also might struggle in not "making new friends" due to close quarters. Despite this, there's enough to enjoy. For one, the beer. Oh the beer. I chalk up Nag's as one of the first bars that started me down the path of craft beer drinking. Plenty of rotating local choices and several unique ones mixed in there (Kuka banana nut!). The bartenders do a bang up job in taking orders despite barely being able to hear you. Trained in lip reading perhaps? There's also some foosball and darts for your bar game pleasure, that is if you can snag a game amidst the hoards. Overall, Nag's Head Ale House isn't meant for a quiet night of wine drinking with grandma. It's a little rowdy, and the word sardine might pop into your head, but beyond that, you'll get some great brews and a fun night with friends. Bonus, a dictionary lesson about the meaning of the word nag.

I love everything about this bar. From the ambiance, bartenders, drinks, music, everything is right. Beer selection is awesome and they constantly change up their taps and bottles. Place is always busy yet I find that I am never waiting to grab a drink. The bartenders are fast, attentive and really informative about the beers here. I've come here dressed up in heels looking fancy, I've come straight from work, and I've come in sweatpants and sneakers. Though the inside of this place is great, my favorite part might have to be the stuff they write on their blackboard outside....

Bouncer was aggressive and threw a drink on my shoes. Will not be returning. Complete waste of a bar.

Come in on a Friday before the crowd comes in! There's good music, good service too. Sean behind the bar is the best, 10/10!

A great spot to grab a bite to eat, or a night out on the town! For food you have to get The Golden Onion - a giant onion sliced and fried to perfection! We also really loved their Bronx Chicken Parm Sandwich made with vodka sauce and hot peppers on a garlic ciabatta. Their Bang Bang Shrimp were also delicious and you can't o wrong with their 8oz prime blend of chuck and brisket burgers! Their cocktails were tasty, balanced, and presented beautifully. You have to get their signature frozen espresso martini! We loved the rest of the drinks we got, truly can go wrong with any drinks here. We love it here and we know you will to! Come check them out! The terf we hit off with anything short of driver was nothing short of impeccable Kentucky blue grass. Vibe was 10 out of 10 and great quality for the $80/hr price tag. Service was annoying. We arrived five minutes late to our tee time, but our bay was not ready when we got there. It was actually dirty and they had to clean it - flag on the play; delay of game. Besides that, we told the server that we didn't need anything. They proceeded to ask us 8 more times. It's like c'mon! They even called us boring. Wildly offended by that. Then, there was an additional 2 professional delay of games when our bay stopped working. When we finally left, they then tried to pull a fast one and add more time to our already expensive bill. Overall, highly recommend coming here! Loved this place much! However, my award is 4-stars, not 5. Scrap all the staff, except the pro and the tech guy.

Next time I may add fig jam to it to add a different level of flavor. I asked for medium but it came out more medium-well. I decided to try garlic butter potatoes and they were delicious as well. They were roasted but the garlic butter flavor was infused throughout the potatoes. Both the shrooms and bulbs and the garlic potato's came highly recommended by our server, Michaela. She was spot on with suggesting these! I also ordered a Wild Sour Series: Dragonfruit Mango Ale. It was perfect and just what I was looking for in a sour. The place itself is very nice and has a cool feel to it. It goes really far back and has two bars, with a little stage in the middle for local musicians and performers. In terms of the drinks they serve, they have a lot of good canned craft beer options (not sure what's on tap), that are served in a nice chilled glass. Their cocktails are very creative and taste delicious. My friends got an East meets West (Mezcal, mango puree, fresh lemon, basil simple syrup with tajin chili salt rim & basil leaf) and a Main Squeeze (Blood orange vodka, passion fruit nectar, aperol, elderflower liqueur, lime juice, thyme simple syrup topped with citrus foam & dried rose petals). The east meets west was really good, and the basil really complemented the mezcal in an unexpected way. The main squeeze was also really delicious and tasted like candy, except for a perplexing smokey aftertaste that we couldn't quite figure out. Overall though some very creative and potent cocktails that we definitely want to come back and try more of! My only issue was with how slow the service at the bar in the front was. I feel like those two cocktails shouldn't have taken 15 minutes to prepare (not an exaggeration). Maybe this is an issue with understaffing?
