All trust was lost within the first 3 months of her arrival, and this review is to help others who are considering Oakmont of El Dorado Hills for the care of their loved ones. There is no claim they did anything illegal, nor that she had poor care, this review is about the moral and ethical relationship between a family and the care home they trust for their family. Following the first 3 months after the contract was signed, the payment debited was always more than what we were expecting. Although my brother who lives locally was nominated as Primary Contact, the Business Office Director agreed he would be happy to discuss mom's care with any of her children. He was contacted mid-December and queried about the continual surprises with invoicing. First step was to request the invoice breakdowns for the billing periods which I finally received after numerous chases and phone calls. Explanation for delay? My emails were not being received so an IT issue. The errors found on the billing were many. The room rental charge was being invoiced at $200 per month over the contracted rate. The Care Fee had been double charged in December. These two errors alone exceeded $1200.00. Although the contract was signed in early September to secure the room, Mom did not move in until mid-October. She was billed for 6 weeks at full rate for an empty room which we understood to be 'standard practise'. We have since found this is not an industry standard. No meals eaten, no housekeeping or laundry required, and yet still full prices charged. Upon reviewing the contract, there was contractual requirement for a reduced rate when the room is empty, but this was not given. Upon querying with the Business Office Director, a $5.00 per day amount was credited for the empty room. Illegal? No. But ethical or morally fair? By mid-January 2026, I had submitted several more queries from being charged for 2 rooms at full rate on the day of a room move to why a discount that was given on the first room she occupied was then taken away, without notice or comment, when she moved to a more suitable room. The final breach of trust came at the end of January when it was decided by the Business Office Director and Facility Administrator that they were unable to communicate directly with me anymore. I was not the nominated Primary Care person so responses to my queries went to my brother who had to forward them on to me. From mid-December it was OK for me to discuss billing, 6 weeks later it's no longer acceptable? This is one way to stop awkward questions I suppose. In this last communication of 27 January, we were promised no more billing surprises, in writing. The following day we were informed by the Health Services Director that my mother's Care Fees had been reassessed and were going up immediately by over $700 per month. This following an assessment in December when it was confirmed they would remain the same. I'm not sure whether the Business Office Director does not communicate with his fellow Directors or he deliberately intended to mislead us with his no more surprises confirmation. Neither option is good when your family care is under consideration, so we decided at that time Mom needed to move out. If you are reviewing Oakmont of El Dorado Hills for one of your loved ones care, do ensure you fully understand their charging basis as it is solely focused on their profit. Fairness is not in the equation. Not illegal, just unethical in my opinion. Reviewing every line of every invoice is critical. If we had not scrutinised the invoices, I am positive Oakmont would never have identified the series of overcharging and billing errors we experienced. Credit was received but not once did we receive an apology, or explanation, for these errors that amounted to almost $1500. in just 8 weeks of residency. Be very wary.

DO NOT MOVE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE…read more I have been in elder care for 14 years both as a sought-after professional and as the daughter caring for her beloved Mom and Dad through their late 80's and 90's. I moved my 98 year old Mom to memory care at Oakmont of El Dorado Hills 11/4/24 after 10 Years at a wonderful Memory Care unit in the Bay Area. This was a mistake. I literally could not move her out of Oakmont fast enough to avoid sleepless nights worrying about neglect in my absence, and potential for injury by untrained caregivers with no knowledge of safe transfers, and very little heart. There are a handful of excellent caregivers and med techs. they are eclipsed by bitter caregivers who I have witnessed first hand speaking abusively, with anger at a resident--my mom's dying room mate. I watched (and raised the issue) as this poor woman (room mate) was left with out being checked on regularly, was left unchanged in her own urine until the smell filled the room and the hallway, and i was ignored when I ran to tell staff she was rolling out of bed and going to fall. There was no urgency in response. There were, however, excuses. I have been in care long enough to know there is NO EXCUSE for neglect and abuse. Anyone knows that. I was able to get Mom out after 21 days to a new facility. Which was an immense relief. The staff at the new facility is kind and loving. They are happy humans, not sullen care staff who resent family presence, as was the case at Oakmont. Oakmont needs to be evaluated by the licensing board. The management is incapable of managing, in general, with some shining exceptions. Christina, the Health Services Director is exemplary. This review was hard to write as the memory is brought with sadness so a year has passed but, unless some dramatic changes have taken place, avoid Oakmont.

If you are looking for a place that will treat its residents with respect, love and understanding - look no further! Set in a beautiful residential area, this home feels like just that, a home. Meticulous attention has been paid to every detail so that residents can relax, enjoy themselves, and live their lives without feeling like they are in a sterile institution. The staff are warm, friendly, and highly skilled. In a world in which the elderly are increasingly marginalized and neglected, All Seasons is an oasis of compassion and appreciation. They do not see their residents as clients, occupants or income streams - they see them as people, people with stories to tell, dignity to honor, and individuality to be appreciated and accommodated. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. If you or a loved one is in the season of life where increased care is necessary, then you must call Toly and Mary at All Seasons. It's that simple.

I can't say enough good things about All Seasons. First I will start with Toly the owner . From the time I reached out, he was attentive, communicative and kind. He spent so much time with me, easing my fears and worries that we would find the right place for my dad. He kept me updated all along the way with the waiting process. And he gave me such good advice during the time we were waiting for a spot to open up for my dad. I will never forget the kindness and compassion and dignity he showed our family along the entire process. Second, Lauren, the house manager at the home my dad was in. From day one, she came alongside my dad-really wanting to know him, to understand him, and to help him thrive during his time at All Seasons. Her care and love for dementia patients and their families is second to none. I was constantly amazed at not only her patience and kindness towards my dad (who was very difficult a lot of time) but also to us as his family who were trying to navigate the difficult behaviors and circumstances surrounding his disease. We will forever be indebted with gratitude that my dad had Lauren as his caregiver and advocate for the last part of his life. Also, Hector, Lilly, Melissa and so many more. All the caregiver at All Seasons seemed to be called to care for these special patients. My dad had previously been in a large memory care. For everyone there-it was a job and only that. Not at All Seasons. They hire only those who truly care about patients living with dementia. As a nurse of 28 years, I can whole heartedly recommend All Seasons for your loved one with dementia.

It is heartbreaking to have one's own mother who was loved and cared for at home suddenly placed in a facility like this by an uncaring relative and to watch the mental and physical deterioration it is causing. My mom says she does not sleep well anymore, the screams of Altzheimer's afflicted housemates wake her at night. She gets up and rushes to their bedsides, trying to comfort them. The facility's owner was asked by my mom's Dr. to set up a home visit to monitor a medical problem she has, but she failed to do so. Often the phone is not answered when I try to call. Visiting is unpleasant in my mom's cramped room which contains er small bed, chair and a porta-potty. Although this place claims to accept pets, my mom was not allowed to take any of her pets which include small birds, small dogs and a cat. At the beginning of November he had a stroke and spends 21 days in re-hab center in Vallejo. On December 3, he gets released to come home. We hired 24 hour care at an exorbitant amount of money and it was not that helpful and awkward having someone in your house 24/7. His physical abilities were declining and we were forced to start looking for an elder care facility. We looked for almost three weeks before finding Belhaven with Monica and Dan. They came to our home to save us a trip. Upon explaining the services they offered, talking to Dennis about what he wanted for care and making both he and I feel comfortable with this horrible decision we made arrangements to move him. Dennis who was only 68 years old when he moved to Belhaven. At the time he was the only man living in the back house and was treated like a king. Not once did I ever regret our decision. All his needs were met by the staff with smiles, humor, compassion, empathy and tenderness. As his physical limitations worsened, his ability to communicate was starting to fail and still they all went beyond my expectations. I probably should mention he entered BelHaven the day the world shut down for COVID. Dennis passed peacefully in August 2020. Thank you Monica and Dan for taking such great care of the love of my life.
