Rescued my pit bull from them in 2016. They are a rescue group and the bad reviews on here make no sense to me. They are very busy, you find a dog listed on their website- you reach out- you get qualified-you pick your dog up. No, they don't hold your hand through the process. This is a huge rescue group with tons of rescues occurring at once. If you need your hand held then go to a small rescue. I Had my pittie up until he passed from cancer this past year he was my absolute love! And I am so thankful to New York bullycrew for saving him so that I could give him the best life.

What can I say about this organization??? We found the love of my life here 8 years ago and have been extremely happy with our dealings with Craig and the whole crew. Even after all these years he willing answers any questions we have about our fur baby and helps guide us with health and other issues our baby has. Even went out of his way to guide us in the right direction for a little pup we recently got outside his organization but needed some guidance. He had all the right answers and helped us heal the little boy we have now kept as our own. Wish I had a bigger home so we could adopt more from Bully Crew. This is a pic of my Bully baby Jackson (now 8)

My experience with the New York Bully Crew was nothing but stellar. The operation ran by Craig, John and the rest of their team is nothing but loving and professional. They all provide so much to the animals they rescue and do an amazing job of assisting families like mine who are looking to adopt one of their rescues. The adoption process was seamless and any questions I had along the way we're handled professionally and with an amazing turn around time. I take pride in knowing I adopted and worked with such an amazing rescue to get my guy tigg. I would recommend them for any family looking to adopt a rescue.

The first thing I have to say is leaving negative comments with a rescue is so terrible for the pups - it can make people hesitate to come and adopt when this rescue really is nothing short of FANTASTIC. I had nothing but a lovely experience with NYBC. My interview was scheduled shortly after I submitted my application. Everyone was lovely - John, James, Craig, and Joy were so sweet, informative, and really care for the animals. Their process is intense and there's a fee. Why? Because they don't want these pups to come back, they want them to go to an owner who will seriously love and care for them. I highly recommend adopting through NYBC. If you're unsure of anything or have questions, reach out and follow up with them! No one has ever made me feel like I am bothering them - they are always happy to help and answer my questions.

Safe after over 24 hours left outside curtesy of NYBC

I've said it a million times with every rescue I've worked with but if you leave a negative review on a rescues page you are doing the animals a disservice and should be ashamed of yourself. I work for a different rescue and received an anonymous call from someone about a dog being abandoned in a random location off Bronx river pkwy. Knowing I was at my full time job and also that I couldn't bring a random dog into the foster based rescue I work for I urgently filled out the abuse form on NYBC's websites. Craig called me immediately and asked for more info. Over the next few hours I provided him with as much info as I could and now this dog is safe due to his Teams rescue efforts. Next Time you feel like writing a bad review or trashing NYBC or any rescue remember that this dog was put out like trash and rescued with NO questions asked. For all The keyboard warriors out there you can also help instead of writing bad reviews, You can donate and you can volunteer.

If Brookhaven shelter wants people to adopt pets, the Brookhaven shelter better learn how to do their jobs so that these poor animals could find loving homes. I went to Bide a Wee the following week, and adopted and brought home the same day a beautiful dog, Staff was very attentive to show and explain the details of the animals. Prices were a lot less than Brookhaven. Would highly recommend Bide a Wee for adopting a pet within an hour. Westhampton location.

There Job Coach even said to my adult child that she had trouble even placing people to volunteer there. At first before my adult child ever applied there, I told my adult child to volunteer there to get their foot in the door. and my adult child left a voicemail for someone to call back and still nothing. My adult child filled out the application one more time and still nothing, and finally decided not to apply there anymore. If you or someone you know, has an adult special needs child who even wants to volunteer, not even apply there, I wouldn't recommend it.

First is Lisa Jaeger. Lisa assisted me with one of my ferals,Fluffy, that wasn't able to eat. I was force feeding him with no luck. Lisa came to my house, picked him up and took him to her vet. He had surgery, removing a polip from his throat. She took him to her house to care for him. Later, she invited me to her beautiful house to see how he was doing. He was still very sick. We agreed that he wasn't getting better, and Lisa took him back to the vet for re-evaluation. Sadly, he didn't make it. I could see how Lisa cared for this poor little cat. 1 other group that helped me with another of my ferals is North Shore Friends of Ferals. After numerous failed attempts to trap the cat on my own, a volunteer, JoEllen, came to my rescue. We were able to trap the cat, Max. (He was drooling in his bowl and wasn't eating well.) JoEllen took Max to her vet and most of his teeth were removed. He did well for a few weeks and became sick again, worse than before. His stomach was bloated and he wasn't eating again. On a Sunday, JoEllen helped me get him in a carrier and I took him to Selden Emergency vet. Max was examined and was found to have fluid in his abdominal area. I freaked!!! I was told Max won't get better. I called JoEllen and asked her if I'm making the right decision in letting Max go. She sadly said, "yes, you did everything you could for him" then we cried. I recieved a phone call and txt message from JoEllen and Heather from NS Friends of Ferals. They were making sure I was ok!! I sadly see that there is B.S. between several rescue groups. Please do not txt, email, write, call or pidgin message me with your ugly hate for any animal groups. I make my own opinions, and as you can see I've made them for these 2 groups. Best of luck to All of you. I know its not easy sometimes to care for the little ones we love so much.

This non-profit is a haven for all the cats that have nowhere else to go, and it's something of a cat paradise. Every room is covered with all manner of cat shelves and towers and toys, and the outside is a gigantic cat playground with plenty of space to lounge and scratch and roam around. Chris Arsenault started the sanctuary over 10 years ago, and since then he's taken in cats that were stuck with hoarders, bait for dog-fights, afflicted with all manner of ailments, and just generally abused. I believe there's something like 300 cats living there, and after meeting Chris, I was pleasantly surprised to find that he's actually a normal guy (seriously!), just a nicer one than most of us. His son lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident; shortly afterward, he came across a colony of 30 sick kittens. After nursing them back to health, he knew that saving other cats was his calling, and he's been doing it ever since. As the website says: "Our mission is to save the lives of cats and ensure they are provided with the quality of life every creature deserves, including access to medical care, proper nutrition, adequate shelter, and the freedom and safety to live without fear of sickness, neglect, or abuse...All cats are neutered, have access to vet care, and are regularly brushed and given lots of love and attention. Cats and kittens are available for adoption." So check it out. Adopt, donate, or just watch the live feed on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/happycatsanctuary It's a great cause, and if you've got a problem cat, you don't have to lie to your children that their kitten went to live in a happy place where they've got plenty of room to play...because it actually exists.

I wish had…read more Original Post: I'm a person living with a disability, seeking a non-service companion to join my family with my aging service dog. HEAR was aware of this via my detailed application and references. I reached out to HEAR via PetFinder very interested in a pup, Relish, who appeared to be a good match with my family. I entered the adoption process, got all of my references confirmed, completed a virtual home visit, set a meet time, and was sent additional pics and videos of Relish after the visit--all validating Relish as a potential match. It was a very hopeful and exciting moment. However, in the same text I was informed I was approved for adoption from HEAR, I was also informed Relish was just adopted, within 18 hours of my confirmed meetup. Prior to this, I was not informed I was competing for the match. Had I advance notice, I might've made other arrangements, but I wasn't offered the opportunity or the warning. I've volunteered for and dealt with more than a dozen rescue agencies in my region as an advocate and supporter, as well as several others throughout my childhood. None of the agencies I've worked with have been less transparent than HEAR. No one wants to be in the position of visualizing a potential family member in their lives, and planning for that hopeful first meeting, only to have them cancelled from the equation less than 18 hours before the meet--removed with no notice of other variables.Instead, they sent pics of other dogs. I've requested my adoption application with HEAR be closed, as I would never recommend anyone who wishes to ethically enter a relationship with a rescue rely on HEAR for the availability of the hopeful companion, or transparency in general. Reply to HEAR's response to this post: HEAR says there were delays. HEAR says I'd rather garden?? These are absolute falsehoods. The timeline below is clear. All communications and appointments were honored. May 11, Kristie confirmed my May 10 application and requested documentation of my landlord's permission to have a second dog. May 12, I submitted that documentation. May 14, Kristie apologizes for *her* delay, and informs me she'll be reaching out to my three references. All references responded the same day, after I let them know to check their "unknown numbers" folder. Friday, May 15, at 7:28pm, a virtual home visit is requested by Kristie. I was already on my farmstead for the weekend--I detailed the farmstead in my application. I let Kristie know I was upstate, and offered to FaceTime from there or when I got back home. She said she'd wait. I proposed a meet time, but Kristie said it could happen whenever, to just text her when I'm home, that she'd be "around." I texted Monday, May 18 to make arrangements. We set it for the next day, May 19. The virtual visit happened with her partner, Sam, because Kristie was unavailable when I texted. During that meeting, an appointment was made to specifically meet Relish on May 23 at the HEAR event. Prior to the arranged meet date, I inquired of its flexibility because planting became a factor--planting is absolutely critical and 100% dependent on weather and climate. Sam responded that probably wouldn't work. So, I CONFIRMED the original meet time. I very clearly confirmed my motivation and intent to meet and spend time with this specific sweet boy, Relish. Still, he was adopted out from under me. NOT ONCE was I informed there were other applicants for him. Not once were any other factors or obstacles to adopting Relish mentioned. And not once did I miss any appointments or communications. I've dealt with much more honest and ethical agencies. It's HEAR's opaque practices that might hurt their ability to adopt, not this honest review. Post-Script: Sam even mentioned she didn't want to leave Relish alone at night with her dogs, because "god forbid something happen." Apparently, that was a legitimate risk as per Reddit. It's absolutely shocking that injury to fosters is still a risk they take.

The attention to detail is so appreciated here! Upon arriving for my appointment, I met with Dr. Berger and his staff to go over the procedures my dog was undertaking that day. The cleanliness of the office and the obvious experience the staff had with treating their patients was very reassuring for me.
