Well we have been to New York Diamonds, upon recommendations, and are very displeased. Nancy's wedding ring has 2 outer rings with baguettes, and they are loose. Took it to them to tighten, and when we got it back almost 2 weeks later, still loose. Took it back again last week, picked it up today, same thing. Still Loose. Paid for a service that was not done. Trying to help local businesses in town, yet when they do not do the job, time to move on. We will not be back. Had really high hopes for this place. First time I came in and they have BEAUTIFUL jewelry by the way but after the treatment I'm going to take my buisness else where. So I came in with a ring I was going to sell to someone else, but I wanted to make sure the diamonds are real and get more information about it just so I have the information right before I sell the right. She checked the diamond and said it was real and couldn't tell me anything else. And I told her I was selling it that's why I came in, and told her I might be back in with the person I'm selling it to just to get confirmation for the guy that they are real diamonds. And she said ok. Which is fine that's all I needed. And I continued to look around at the store considering I've never been here before and the lady made a joke saying "sell the ring and put it towards one of these" and I laughed and said I think I'm going to because the rings in the store were really nice and I really was going to come back and buy a new ring from the one I sold. I came in with the guy I was selling the ring to 30 minutes later and the same lady greeted the both of us extremely rude, and rudely asked us what we wanted. And I smiled thinking she recognized me, since I literally just came in and told her the reason for coming in again. I asked her hey I have him with me now, can you check the ring for him. She said no. And I was like you just said you would 30 minutes ago. And was extremely rude to the both of us refusing to check the ring for him because he already did with me. Claiming she's not getting anything from it. What the heck? You can't from the courtesy for this man? Mention that all they do in there is sit down so they least she could have done was check a ring that takes about a minute? Oh and by the way there was no one else in the store, I could understand if I could have been possibly interrupting someone's shopping experience but there was no one in there but us. I said wow okay, that's a little rude. Just because of the attitude she gave us was very different from the one when I first came in. I turn to the guy again to continue talking like hey I apologize but it is real. 5 seconds in she raises her voice at us and tells us to leave. We weren't even in there for 3 minutes. I was going to be a customer there for a new ring, never again will I shop here. They are so unprofessional and rude. Neither will the guy that I was with. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Update: response to the owner. We're you there personally to see this? I can't have a casual conversation with my "client" in the store on how I came upon the ring? And by the way your employees were EXTREMELY unprofessional. So yes I'm going to get rude. If they politely told me the policy I would have completely understood and agree to leave. Instead they straight up told me "we're not getting anything out of it" I would LOVE for you to watch the video if you guys have cameras with audio because those were her exact words. I wasn't going to leave a review but here is our experience. We went in to get a battery put in 3 watches, asked for the price, $15/each, my 97 year old mother decided to just replace one. The gal who helped us was very short and curt. No receipt. An hour later we are at the doctors office and I notice the back is coming off of her watch. She didn't even snap it into place correctly. Never going back again. Very rude and poor customer service. Should have read up on the reviews before going to this place of business. read more

Staff was rude. I asked the sales lady if they could appraise a pair of earrings I had bought from a friend. She asked questions that were irrelevant to an appraisal and was short with her responses. After realizing I wasn't getting anywhere with her I was looking at a few pairs of earrings and she said - what are you doing comparing prices? No idea what she was taking about. When I asked to see a pair of earrings she said - those are very expensive, not sure you'd like those. Unbelievable. Please don't ever go to this jewelry store... This is my first review ever on yelp and let me tell you.. I couldnt help myself but to leave a message explaining how i was completely lied to and then not taking any accountability for the information that was told to me.. my chain broke, I brought it in to get a link fixed... Let me tell you, I've never paid over 40 dollars "in the Bay Area" to have a link repaired... New York diamonds charged me 55 bucks.. 15 dollar difference NO BIG DEAL... The problem is.... When I dropped off the chain the older Filipina lady told me.. Hey are you ok with the chain being a link shorter, we won't be able to fix the link but we can remove it and reattach it... My response was great!! Not a problem... After waiting over a week to pick up the chain.. I asked the lady, hey did you keep the extra link that was removed.. She says, what link we didn't remove the link... I explained what she had told me and she looked me dead in my eyes and said I did not tell you that.. She then replied with the chain is long so it doesn't matter if we Removed the link or not!!! Say what??? Goes on explaining to me how the link they put on was more expensive than the one they took off!!???? LOL so they don't give you your piece of chain back because they replaced it. LOL Issnt that why I paid??? Was the cover the cost of labor and metal for it to be replaced?? I guess not!! After being lied to about the process then dating completely oblivious in the store.. They took my link to my chain, never gave it back and said I did not tell you that!!?? Lol OK... Totally miscommunication and absolutely no accountability. I took my ring there to fixed after having it cut off. I waited 2 months to make sure the swelling was gone. I told them I wanted it back to original size which was a 7, when I picked it up and tried it on it was a 1/2 size too small, I had to argue with them that I had always a 7 and that I had the original receipt from when my husband bought it 45 yrs. ago. After a few minutes of debating they decided it was easier to fix (their words) than to keep arguing. I picked it up and it fit and no extra charge. I would not go there again they were not helpful or friendly only had an attitude. I had to request a receipt, they said they usually don't for repairs but I insisted and they gave it to me. I just felt they were not honest. When I got home had to check my diamond make sure its the same one. That's not good if you feel that uncomfortable with a business. read more

I went there to size up on a clasp for my gold necklace. The size wasn't much different but it did cost me 75 dollars. When I went to pick up my chain I asked for the original one that they took off. Said it was part of the transaction and it was theirs to keep. That was not disclosed to me in the beginning. So it looks like I paid 150 for the clasp. Then on top of that after having it for a month and only wearing the chain a couple of times the clasp broke. I took it back and they are going to replace it. I just saw my tungsten ring that I paid 300 for at the mall for twenty dollars. Same exact ring. There store is ancient and the rings are marked up so high. They take advantage that your credit is not extensive and advertise that your job is your credit. They charged me 4900 altogether for about .5 combined carrots on the womens wedding set and my blank tungsten ring. I was inexperienced and did not know I was bein taken for a ride. Do NOT go to NY Diamonds, it's a pawn shop!!! My husband took a watch to get a new wristband and the associate gave him the wrong size (length) only to tell him HE chose the wrong size. Another associate attempted to speak Spanish to him (he's Italian), infuriating my husband. Then, after requesting it be fixed, he was told to wait. After waiting 15+ min.s, my husband asked for his watch, and was told to wait while other customers who came in after him were attended to. My husband asked for the watch, since he was in a bit of hurry and was told by the manager (500+ yrs old with a bee hive hairdo) to wait. After waiting for another 10+ min.s, my husband asked again for his watch. The manager ignored him and went about her business, talking to the technician in the back (a middle aged man with a mullet, wife beater, and hairy back exposed - since when is this professional dress???). After given a refund stubbornly, as my husband walked out of the store, the manager talked behind his back to others, saying "This is not how we do business in America!!!" assuming my husband was Mexican and didn't understand English. My husband went back and told her that their employees are incompetent, since they cannot do such a simple thing as re-band a watch. The manager blamed him, saying he chose it and he was rude calling her worker, "stupid." I went back later that day and spoke with the manager and not only was she rude and not taking responsibility for what she had said, she walked away from me as I was talking, claiming, my husband was lying about his experience and saying things he never said. Do NOT go to this pawn shop! It is NOT a jewelry store. The owner is rude, batty, and the workers are incompetent. If I could, I would give 0 stars! read more
