So from the set that you see some of the diamonds fell off. I tried to call to ask if I can come in to get it fixed. Took 3 attempts to call each day. No answer. So their hours aren't always accurate. I took a chance to show up. A lady was there but they were closed. All of that was 4 days of having my nails. I did have to make an appointment to put 4 diamonds back on. So by the time I got them fixed it had been a week later to get them fixed. They did not charge which was very nice but it was difficult to get a hold of them and try to fix my nails. I was willing to pay. 3 weeks later from that Now I'm trying to get my nails done. I called someone else answered and told me only simple designs (I don't like to feel too limited) the way it came off was like they didn't like doing designs or we (the customers) can't get a design. It was her tone that turned me off over the phone and in general the journey to even get your nails done there. I had made the appointment with Jennifer but now that I sat and processed my experiences here I don't want to move forward with them unfortunately. I did try calling today out of courtesy to cancel so no one is waiting for their appointment and again no answer. Called 3 times. I'll try again but disappointed because I thought I finally found a spot. Jennifer is super sweet and attentive in person when you are getting your nails done. Overall I think their phone system and the inconsistency of their hours is a problem and limited designs. read more

I usually only use yelp to write negative reviews however this place always goes above and beyond and the ladies there are so fun and so nice. They really do pay attention to what I want and they don't make me feel afraid to correct them or ask when I want a little bit more filing on one side as opposed to the other. I also can understand what these women are saying and they don't make me feel uncomfortable or make me feel like they're talking smack about how my feet look to each other lol I'm sure we all know how that feels. I was able to call a day or two ahead to schedule a pedicure appointment. When I arrived, they were behind and had to wait ~20 minutes but they were apologetic. I get it. Weekends are busy, so I expected to wait. The women are really friendly and accomodating and my pedicure turned out fine. read more

New York Nails 2 is the ONLY place I go to for my nails! Honestly the best hidden gem in Pacifica and in my opinion the Bay Area! I've been going here for the past 10 years. Giah and Jennifer are so talented in their craftsmanship. Both are so sweet as well! Giah did my nails and carefully takes her time to sculpt and design my nails. I appreciate how she really pays attention to detail. If you want to get intricate designs do plan on staying there for a while, but it's so worth it! I wish I could write a better review, because the women are so friendly and they do great nails. But the owner doesn't understand what an "appointment time" means or honor it. Twice now, I've made an appointment and showed up on time, only to be told I would have to wait. And not just like 10 minutes, which is reasonable. Like "We don't know when we'll be able to get to you, we have to finish all these other people." When your schedule is tight and you are fitting this in, having to wait more than 25 minutes just doesn't work. I'm a busy mom and I run my own business - I can barely make time for me as it is! Other nail salons honor appointments - they say no to walk-ins/appointments if they can't accommodate them. Doesn't seem like New York Nails works that way. It's like they are the only business in the world that hasn't figured out how to judge appointment times and how often to schedule! Can you imagine if restaurants ran this way?! When you kindly ask when they WILL be able to take you, the owner gets rude about it. She makes you feel like you're being unreasonable or impatient. I was simply trying to find out by what time they COULD take me, because we had an event to attend. I could afford to wait 30 minutes more for them to take me, but that was it. So I didn't want to stay if they couldn't take me in a decent amount of time. She snapped at me, "We have to finish all these others. We don't know how long that will take." What?! You can't give me an approximate time so I can decide if I'm able to stay and wait? The other excuse they give: "Well, other appointments came late, so you have to wait." Um, how about not booking your appointments so close together so you know when one ends and another begins?! Or how about telling those late customers they have to cut a service if they show up late, because you have other appointments? If I was late to an appointment, I would expect that. Other nail salons figure this out all the time and leave a cushion. I went one time when they did honor my appointment time, and it was great. But I can't count on them to take me when they say they can. As a customer, I just would like my time to be respected and not be made to feel I'm being unreasonable if I want to find out how long my wait will be. As I'm sure all her clients do. I prefer Refresh Nails further south down Palmetto. They are hard to get into - but at least they say they are full rather than lie and say they can take you at a certain time and then are not able to. And they are nice about it if you ask how long you will need to wait. Luckily, I drove over there and they were able to fit me in for a fabulous mani (they were too busy to do the pedi, but it was better than nothing) BOTTOM LINE: I'm so sad about this- New York Nails does a great job - and they are very nice. If you don't have places to be and have the luxury in your day to not rely on appointment times and spend 2 or more hours, then you should totally try this place. But if you're a busy mom or executive, they are unreliable about ensuring your appointment happens on time or even close to it. read more

This little shop may not have all the frills and equipment that other shops may offer, but it's the service and smiles from the ladies who work here that make me come back. The prices are very reasonable. There are 3 massage chairs for pedicures, a back room for waxing, and 3 chairs for manicures. I suggest making appointments instead of just walking in. Very cute little salon! The ladies working there are so sweet and so a great job at accommodating your requests. It's VERY fairly priced for the Bay Area (gel polish mani and pedi $50 total). Just be warned it is a quite small salon and you may have to wait since there are limited workers. The polish selection is broad, but some of the polishes do look old. I go here to get my nails and toes done on a consistent basis because the ladies who work here are awesome! They are always nice and accommodating- do a great job- and make sure you're happy with the results. The prices are really affordable and you can get a great view of the ocean while getting your nails done! They are only closed on Tuesdays- but that means they have weekends available. I suggest calling ahead to get a slot. They fill up fast and sometimes don't have time for walk-ins. And even if you make an appointment, you might have to wait a little when you arrive so give yourself time. They are busy ladies but it's definitely worth the wait for me! read more

I was pretty disappointed in the professionalism and cleanliness of this business. I made an appointment for 3 people. Called ahead and asked if they can accommodate 3 people at the same time. The lady said yes, so I booked the appointment. When we got there, they took two of us, but my friend had to wait. There were 3 people working there, but the third lady was working on someone else's nails. My friend didn't end up getting her nails done because she didn't want to wait and rightly so. We made an appointment and the salon decided to disregard our appointment time. The lady had the nerve to say they are busy...well why didn't you let us know you couldn't accommodate. Pretty sure they took in a walk in, which messed everything up. Super inconsiderate. Besides all that they did not seem to care much about social distancing. They already had 3 people getting their nails done when me and party came in. They did not check our temps as one of the other reviews mentioned doing. I didn't see them clean or disinfect anything either. On top of all that, the walk in lady wanted to close the door!? I told them to keep it open for ventilation. Like come on now. How thick can you be?! I honestly wish I hadn't tipped them, but felt bad. Never again. Only came here because they were open and supposedly could accommodate. They have a nice color selection. I came in this afternoon for a walk in gel pedicure and was accommodated almost immediately. I picked out my gel color and sat down. The technician did a great job on the pedicure. It was a great experience. The massage chair was 10/10! The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the cleanliness of the shop. I didn't see any of the tools pre packaged as I see at so many other salons. The filling of my toe nails was a bit rough but not unbearable. I did appreciate the attention to my calluses. Was there Thursday, and someone already there was having a bad experience ( just told them what she didnt like, then apologized for saying that, stating she didnt want the esthetician to get mad it was just a comment on what she wanted). Shouldve taken that as a warning. Everything was good, some of my french mani was uneven but no big deal, i think it was pretty ok. Then after i see a lash appt come in I ask a worker that's RIGHT NEXT TO ME (since lashes arent on the menu anywhere--sus), who's just filing nails, and she says angrily "IM BUSY!". Well, ma'am, the ladies doing my mani-pedi talked the WHOLE TIME, and its well-known talking is common, so why be rude??? there was no "sorry/cant talk now/ ask my colleague..." I am SO incredibly happy I found this place that I don't want to write this review so I can selfishly keep this gem for myself. I've only recently been here once and I can confidently say it's now my go-to salon. The ladies here are the best! I called on a Friday morning when they opened and they said I could come in 30 minutes. I was seated immediately when I arrived. The shop isn't the most glamorous, but it's clean and has a relaxing view of the ocean. The ladies are so nice and are actually attentive to your nails! Giah did my pedicure and Sarah did my polish change on my hands. They both were amazing and I can't wait to come back. On top of the sweet service, the prices are really affordable which is what originally caught my eye. $30 for a regular mani and pedi. $40 for a gel mani and regular pedi. This place is great, ive been coming here off and on for years. I got my nails done Friday 1/20/18 they looked beautiful! i attached a picture. I think her name was tammy- she did a great job. she cleaned my cuticles, listened to how id like em shaped and even lotioned my hands and arms and gave me a quick massage at the end. Only issue ive ever had- my nails started popping off 3days later. so today Thursday 25th. I had 6 nails that popped off. I called and they said theyd fix it, no problem. So we scheduled a time for Friday 1/26. Problem is im leaving for vacation and dont want to rush. So I ran to the shop after work, asked them if they could just take the other 4 nails off. and she did, they popped right off, no problem! We figured it was the new primer they might have used. Next week ill go in for a full set, free of charge...i mean my full set should have lasted 2wks at least! ive had full sets done here that have lasted 4/5wks. So i know these women do a great job. I love this nail shop- my go to forever! Sarah or Jennifer usually do my nails and they are amazing- they always know what I like, pick great colors for me and I always have designs that they do a great job with. I think it's important to know that they are highly skilled (they never cut me or mess up)- I consistently get my nails (acrylics w gel) every 2 weeks and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The only time I would go anywhere else is if they were all booked up and I couldn't find time in my own busy schedule that aligns with their time. I usually have to go back to them so they can fix whatever snafu I get myself into with another shop. My recommendation would be to call ahead and schedule some time! I figured I would give this place a shot as it's close to home and it had been months since I had a mani/pedi. My mani/pedi started off well. The first technician took her time and did a fantastic job--no complaints. Now for my gel mani, the technicians were changed since the first one had to leave. When the second technician started applying the gel polish I noticed it was thick, the bottle seemed to be almost empty because she had to tilt the bottle to the side to scrape polish onto the brush. It hasn't been a week yet and my gel mani has already peeled. Seems like that the second technician may not know how apply gel polish well. Update: Went back to NYN2 the owner Giah was so kind and willing to remedy my nails. Her professionalism reflects how much she cares for her customers satisfaction. I will definitely return to NYN2, but will only request services from Giah. read more

I swung by here during a random day just because I needed to get my nails done before graduation and vacay. I never heard about this place, but saw the reviews that kept saying: Jennifer is soo good so decided to try it out. I absolutely loved it. I'm so nit picky about my nail places because some people take too long, the nail polish can be chipped after a few days, etc. The only reason for the 4 stars is because of how long she took it.
