I have no idea how this place has good reviews after being treated like I was yesterday. I went in to get a gel manicure last Wednesday, because I was leaving on vacation Saturday. One week later - the gel is peeling off of every single one of my nails. Gel manicures last THREE WEEKS at my usual place - no chipping, no lifting. Since I am 15 hours away from home on vacation, I called and requested a refund because I had to spend another $30+ to get my nails re-done while I'm here. The guy who answered the phone told me no, and that I could come in and get them fixed. I told him that's not possible because I'm five states away and I need to get them fixed right away, to avoid any fungus growing between the lifting gel and my actual nail. He laughed at me and hung up on me. I have never been treated like this in almost ten years of getting my nails done. I am disgusted that I wasted my hard-earned money on this place!!! read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. But unfortunately, Yelp will not let me do that. I just got back from the worst eyebrow waxing experience of my life. I asked for eyebrows that are straighter, more natural, and most importantly NOT THIN. The lady that waxed me did the exact opposite of what I asked for. They are incredibly thin and uneven. Even worse, my left eyebrow just looks scraggly and botched. She went up into the brow and created a hole in my eyebrow. This woman should be banned from doing eyebrows. read more

Very friendly and clean place. I got one of the most relaxing pedicures I've had in a very long time. I'm not a fan of my toe nails being messed with and she was vey sensitive to my wishes. I almost fell asleep during the massage part of it. Check this place out for yourself before skipping to the next based on the reviews. read more

Today I made an appointment with New York Nails at 12pm for a pedicure and an eyebrow wax. I'm sitting soaking my toes for 40 minutes and no one has started on me. So I came In and sat in the OWNERS chair told her what I wanted. She started doing my nails and put way TOO MUCH acrylic on and some of them were sideways looked like I had a hill on top of my nail. Than she put the polish on and it looked like I had press on nails from Walmart. Than she just gets mad and gets up and walks away. The guy said he would fix it for me. She was really mad at me because she messed up my nails. Your are the OWNER and you mess up your customers nails and you don't even try to make it right and get up and walk away than still charge me $45. Hate to do this because this place was quite decent in the past; however, screw my nails three times and you get a bad review. The staff used to be conscientious (always somewhat slow but polite) and ultimately the quality of the work kept me going back. Now, the work is rushed, or not at all (e.g. I recently waited with my feet in the pedicure station soaking until I was pruned and left before being waited on). The time before, my gel manicure was a complete disaster; before that they "close early" on a weekend at 3pm. Apparently finding a good nail salon in Gville is a challenge - this is certainly not it. read more

This place used to be great, but is steadily going downhill. Wait times getting longer and quality going down. Only one person I will let touch my nails in there and he is always busy. Their best pedicure person is no longer with them. Time to find a new salon. read more

All of the technicians are very friendly and all business. I have seen them working on others tirelessly and quickly. I have never had a bad manicure or pedicure and have yet to wait more than a few minutes. They take appointments which is also very handy. read more

Based on previous reviews I was hesitant to go here, but I gave it a shot anyway. I have yet to find a good nail place in Gainesville and I'll definitely be returning here when I need my nails done. I only got a pedicure and it was around 2 in the afternoon so they weren't busy. The lady doing my toes was very polite and worked a long time on them, even using a tool to level the nail.
