It all started because the famous online national printer we were using couldn't print postcards that were glossy on the back side, so I went looking for a local print shop that would. I was impressed that New York Printing Solutions standard postcard stock was heavier than the printer we were using, and offered more standard sizes. I also liked that the website had a widget that quoted custom order prices directly. Being a New Yorker, I was actually nervous that my order would be less expensive at a local print shop, so before I made my purchase I called and asked all my technical questions. I liked the answers enough to place the order, and my order was ready a day before promised. Today I picked up my order and here is what I found: The color fidelity of the prints matched my calibrated monitor better. The cuts were perfectly centered throughout the entire batch, which matters when your text is as close to the safe line as ours is. That extra 10# in paper stock makes a big difference. I ordered prints for our wedding invitations in July a few back in February. I designed the invitations myself and wanted to find a printing shop with reasonable price. I had a great experience printing the save the dates for my wedding at NY Printing Solutions. I work in the area and was looking for a place nearby so I could actually go in and speak with someone, as opposed to ordering online which is a gamble. I have a background in art and design so I wanted to make sure my design was going to print the way I expected, with the correct colors and bleed. Steve was able to tell me what color space to work in and what file type would print best so there were no surprises when I picked them up. In addition, he noticed that I didn't have the backs formatted correctly according to USPS standards and sent me a template so I could make adjustments before printing. Lastly, I was worried about how long they might take to print and they were able to get them to me several AHEAD of their initial projected delivery date. Had a large non-standard sized frame (38"x21") lying about the apartment and wanted to finally make use of it and get a collage of photos printed out as a poster for it. However, within a few days of collaboration, they produced an awesome mascot on pvc board in which the image was clean, high resolution and functional.
